Man I wish that bottom damper rod bolt you were torquing down was that easy for my 2011 Heritage. For the older 41mm fork tubes, you can’t really get to final torque without it wanting to slip and keep spinning the inner assembly with it when using just a torque wrench. Mine dribbled a little oil over time so I had to zap those bolts with an impact driver so that it was tightened down enough without the inner assembly spinning.
Got a friend that needs this we were going to do this winter but question it's a 1999 heritage the forks need to be re cromed would you do that or replace never re cromed anything don't don't
I'd personally replace.
I’ve got an 06 Electra glide ultra classic it’s backfiring through the breather at times maybe once or twice a ride , I pulled plugs they seem a little lean , I got slip ons and a breather, do u suggest a tuner if so what kind , and I replaced intake rubber gaskets also already
Sounds like your tune isn’t working well with aftermarket upgrades. I installed a ThunderMax ECM on my 2011 Heritage (96 Twin Cam just like yours probably is). The process is a little involved to install, and there’s a special startup process you need to do if your battery dies or you ever disconnect the battery, but things run amazing and you can contact Zippers if you need any help figuring out the right tune to install. ThunderMax uses wide band o2 sensors and constantly autotune on the fly to maintain a target AFR. It’s kinda complicated, but once things are installed and all setup, it’s a really slick system. There’s obviously other things out there like Vance and Hines FP3/FP4 or DynoJet Power Commander or PowerVision that are cheaper and easier to install/setup, but I wouldn’t trade my ThunderMax for anything. Something else you might wanna look into is getting an external breather system installed.
