My bad customer service experience with Nomad and the lack of quality control on the products they have sent me lately would definitely move the needle for me to the Andar.
I have also had issues with Nomad as of late with quality control. I’ve exchanged one of their premium leather bands for the 3rd time because of inconsistencies and they take days to reply to me
Had the nomad for about 8 months. The leather started to separate at the point where the rubber edge meets the leather started to peel away. Ordered the Andar aspen a few weeks ago and I am much happier with the full wrap around leather, the quality and the price I’d say are worth it. I’m sure I’ll come back to update this comment in a few months but already much happier with the andar.

I would choose the Andar simply because it’s leather all the way around the phone. I wish the ring around the camera was metal, like the buttons. I would definitely be willing to pay a premium for that, as it would literally be the perfect case. Edit: I stand corrected. The ring is aluminum. This makes it the perfect case!
Fall 2023 will be the first year I have not gotten an Apple leather case because Apple is abandoning leather. I am shopping now and leaning heavily on your iPhone 14 case reviews. It's going to be a huge fall and Christmas for companies making real leather cases for the iPhone 15 lineup.

But keep in mind also that leather has this self-healing quality to it. Meaning that if and when you drop it and it gets scratched or ripped, you can rub your finger over it and it will smooth out. Now keep in mind your mileage will vary.
Love my andar case have had both but always going back to andar! Dropped my phone already and it was fully protected, not even a cracked screen, compared to my nomad case when I wasn’t so lucky 😢

You know I’ve been a huge Andar Aspen since my got one for my 13PM. They didn’t have one ready for my launch day 14PM. So I’ve held off on this this one. You just broke my self control, ordering an Aspen.
3:01 I had the exact same issue last year with the Nomad Leather case for my 13 Pro Max - I think it has something to do with early production batch, affecting people who got the case really early after release or even preordered it. I think if you get the case a few months after release it won’t have this issue anymore. Anyway this shouldn’t happen and that’s a big minus for Nomad.

I have a slight problem with my Nomad ML as having a silver iPhone Pro 14 I can see a sliver of the stainless steel frame on the right side. I can live with it but the fit could be better for sure.
The fit issue - do you notice that after a week or so? I don't have the new iPhone so can't comment, but when I tested the Andar Aspen on my iPhone 12 it took my case a few days to fit properly. The buttons were not aligned for the first few days but now it fits much better.

Only thing I didn’t like is the huge lip around the phone which makes swiping to go back difficult. I can see why Nomad and apple both have small lips as that is comfortable to use with a little less protection but glass protector is there to protect the screen
Could you also compare Andar with the Apple case please? I have two Apple leather ones for my 13pm. I love them. I also have Andar and Bullstrap on my list. But the open bottom always stopped me.
So this is another case I can put in my rotation, I currently have the Caudabe Sheath I got the apple clear case and I have Casetify Ultra impact on the way.
So I just got my andar aspen in and unfortunately it has that fit issue you said the nomad has. Where the one corner is just loose and takes hardly any pressure to pop off the edge. The other 3 corners are fitting great

My nomad case came apart where the tpu meets the leather they were good and sent me out a brand new case so I was happy they did that but I just don’t like the tpu around the case sometimes it feels grippy and some times it’s slippery so not happy with that. I would prefer the Leather to go completely around the phone but they won’t get there 6 feet protection they need that now so attractive tpu other then that I probably would not buy another Nomad case I wish they would just do leather for the whole case. But we have choices out there so thank god
Thanks for the comparison! Have you tried the Nomad Horween Leather Case? It’s $20 for a supposedly higher quality leather. I’ve tried leather cases in different colors, but I prefer black. Guess I’ll have to keep waiting for Andar to come through with that.
I get you want strong MagSafe for wallets / grips, but I don’t get why you’d want them so strong as to be able to pick up a weighted charger that’s specifically weighted so you can pick your phone up off the charger without the charger flopping around.
that test is very comparable to you using a ring or some other magsafe grip and picking your phone up by it, you dont want the phone to just fall. (nomad does with pro max varients often) but yeah i got ya
Keep in mind a stronger magnet in this case is not necessarily a good thing, Apple has said themselves that the stronger the magnet the more chance of interference occurring with phone signal and medical equipment, pace makers etc.
Bruh I just want a nice purple colour that’s similar to the shade of purple 14 pro max It’s why I landed on the ink apple case think it’s nice and the apple logo is a nice touch
i have tons of backpakcs nad loads of leather products from Andar. They are far superior to nomad it isnt even close. they care more about you and what you think of their quality more than anything else. ANDAR is the shit.
Just a warning to avoid the Nomad, as I purchased one, and the quality is very poor, there is no way this will protect against 10 feet drops as it claims. The leather is very very thin vaneer. They do not support free returns, or full returns value. You will loose your shipping costs and when you ship it back other reviews online about their customer service isn't great people claiming they never got their money back. I am hoping I do not have that issue but do not buy this as its over priced for a case that cannot even really protect your phone as the walls are as thing as paper, there is no quality in "bumper" design. I bet this vaneer will peel off after a few months as its so thin on an already very thin case.

If the leather doesn’t go onto the sides it looks cheap to me. I like the Apple leather case for the 13 pro max.

I would pick the Nomad one mainly because it’s thinner. And the rubber frame is a good plus point for protection indeed.
