  • Let's talk about one of the most mysterious numbers in all of modern physics: the number 1/137, known as the fine-structure constant, Sommerfeld constant, or simply alpha constant, which has been a source of headaches for physicists for almost 100 years!

The meaning of the fine structure constant is the mathematical purpose of bases six and ten. Base ten is a repeating decimal .0072992700729927… and base six is 1/345, but no repeating decimal.

137 is the maximum possible number of (periodic table) chemical elements in the Universe.
    We already know 118 (out of 137)... but the next "undiscovered" 19 elements are just those from the 8 period: 2 + 1 + 16, or 2 + 17...
The real question is that 1 of these 19 is part of the f-block, or 17 of them are part of the proposed "g-block"... and so on..

137 =e/2 x 101, the 26th prime in the harmonic series. That was easy. It means that an electron is made from 101 unit particles of charge.

Maybe it's the number proving the multiverse and this signifies that reality is broken up into 137 universes... the universe that we are in =1 = all existence=1/137 = the physical parameters of this current universe are determined by the fact that there are 137 physical universe types in all of existence

I see that explaining things in complicated ways has become a psychological weapon. The singularity as described in the quantum world is a negative field that I can explain wonderfully with the fifth dimension.

YEAH! The electron having 136 degrees of freedom... thats it flipping out of 1 of the 1/137 different possible universe types in the multidimensional programming code of the entire universe. Existence is all running concurrently, but this physical universe is determined by those specific geometric parameters. Other ones have other parameters, but there must only be 136/7 that really make sense in the way that we know it.

The value of the fine structure constant can be easily reconstructed from an interesting relationship if we take into account Planck's natural units, in which the speed of light is c=1.
Then, from Einstein's formula, the velocity at which the Lorentz contraction reaches 50% and the relativistic mass doubles is 0.86603c. We substitute this determined speed into the formula:
((1-0.86603)^3)*3= alpha (fine structure constant). The deviation from the experimentally determined constant is 1.01%. If corrections are made for the fact that the experimental system was in the orbital and rotational motion of the Earth, and the speed of the Sun relative to neighboring stars gives an average contribution of 0.00008315c (24.926 KM/s), the constant calculated in this way will be consistent with the experiments.

3:15 - you say: "the kinetic energy of the electron should be equal to the potential energy of its electrical attraction to the nucleus". First: Those two cannot be equal since Ekin is >= 0, and the attraction implies Epot < 0. Moreover, from the virial theorem: Ekin = -1/2 Epot. If Ek = Epot, then the total E would be > 0 and the electron would not be bound.

137 is the prime number that all mass has in common. the point of repetition in time. 1/137 is half the distance between waves. .0036 more than the decimal of pi.
thats 1/3 turn of a g wave and 1/3 of the distance apart.

What if we did not base our numeral system on the decimal system? What if are numeric system is based on 6 or 7 with 0? The Sumerians based their numerical system on 6 as I understand. All of this and all math is based on subjective numeral system and nothing else, as it could be based on any number, not the decimal system. Then there goes the the number 137.

    • @TerraPhysica
      @TerraPhysica  Před 5 měsíci +1

It doesn't metter. Decimal system is only a way to write down numbers. You can write 137 as 10001001 in
binary, as 89 in hexadecimal etc. It still be 137, I mean, if you get 137 apples and put them on the table, and someone will get 10001001 apples in binary and put them on the table, it still will be the same amount of apples

all this content seems stolen/rehashed from other channels (PBS Spacetime, Dr Becky, etc). what exactly are you adding by recapitulating other people's content?

I don't even know who Dr Becky is. PBS Spacetime is pretty good, but when I watch their video on this topic, I felt somewhat unsatisfied with explanation what fine structure is, and I also think that it will be usefull to give a mathematical meaning of alfa and some other things. This is why I've made this video.

0:37 7.297 (decimal point) is not the same as 7,297 (decimal comma). Using a comma to represent a point is very confusing as it is sometimes also used as a thousands separator. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimal_separator

    • @TerraPhysica
