    The Project 641 submarines became a symbol of the Cold War, just like the American U-2 reconnaissance aircraft, or Soviet missiles on Cuba.
    Thanks to engineering solutions that were modern for their time and the materials used, these submarines could endure more, had a greater operational range, and were capable of diving deeper than the subs that preceded them. They also carried more deadly armament and the crew enjoyed much better living conditions than submarines had provided with in the past. These ships were created to conduct strategic missions, such as disrupting oceanic communications from any potential adversaries, which is why the submarines of this class were built in large quantities. The project turned out to be highly effective, and sailors greatly appreciated it from the very start.

    Dear WoWs Team: Since you introduced this series you never ever have featured a German naval legend. Bismarck, Tirpitz, Gneisenau, Scharnhorst, Graf Spee, etc etc...
    There are so many actual naval legends that have a real service record and did something in combat - and Germany is just an example. Take the Royal Navy, USN or any other.
    . A soviet post war Uboat that did nothing?! How on earth is this a legend?
    Dont get this wrong, your content is really well made and you can do super cool stuff like the convoy series etc. But please, for the sake of the community that is sick of that constant soviet favoured stuff, give us some variations and honor the real navies out there and not some fake legends or ships that noone ever heard before and did nothing but shoot some torpedoes at fishing boats or do some patrolling...

      @JainZar1 Před 4 lety +3

      Well, B-413 has a service record without mayor accidents and malfunctions, that is qualification enough for being a Naval Legend in the Soviet Navy.
      If you look at K-31/K-431/B-431 for example, the only prominent thing that boat did is irradiating a whole peninsula and killing thousands, when the reactor went critical while they opened it to refuel.
      Heck, he fire suppression system on board of these boats is a Halon gas, it displaces air and extinguishes the fire that way. I also condenses all the moisture into fog and itself isn't transparent, meaning sailors aren't able to get out of the area that is being flooded by Halon. SOP of the Soviet Navy was to immediately use the Halon, disregarding any sailors still alive in the affected compartment, which isn't really a bad thing if there is a large fire on board of the submarine, but if the fire is containable, you just killed your first responders.
      Also the system would sometimes malfunction and flood a compartment with Halon at random. To date more sailors died from the malfunctions of the Halon fire suppression system than fire or fire related damage on Soviet/Russian subs.

They made a video about the Battle of Tsushima, the worst Russian naval defeat in history, so I think they're entitled to talk about some of the more significant Russian ship designs occasionally. That being said, I agree it would be nice to see some videos about the Kriegsmarine, or some of the more storied Japanese ships.

    Interesting history lesson but not sure this qualifies as a naval legend, hopefully you will give up on the subs idea soon.

    How is this a legend? If you are going to do some subs, you should do submarines like Typhoon class or maybe USS Nautilus.

    Everything is "dead reckoning"... sometimes helping send the world to nuclear armageddon can get heroic. It's sad to see sailors not knowing that they are only a few days away from world destruction and trying to make sense of what is going on.

    I guess you are already tempting on this one, so I did some "research" in looking back on the timeline of WoWs, there I found a Gamescom 2019 recap, where pictures of submarines are displayed, there is a Tier-? sub with the name S-189, and this sub is one of the project 641. This means that the subs are not even released yet and the soviets will get more coldwar tech. And after all this with the soviet BBs and the Smolensk and the new cruisersplit with even more designships, a term like "russian bias" is just describing the happening of this awkward non balancing thing.

  • @keithw4920
    @keithw4920 Před 4 lety

    Expecting Soviet submarines to have faster torps, longer ranged torps, better HP, enhanced detectability, etc etc etc.. all balanced by erm lets see, oh it takes 0.05 seconds longer to submerge.

  • @keithw4920
    @keithw4920 Před 4 lety

    Now to be fair to WOWS, at least there was a real sub for them to feature. No way we are going to get a video showing the insides of CV-6, Scharnhorst or Bismarck or Warspite right? BUT YES SOVIET SUBMARINES WILL BE BALANS>

    Guys, if anyone of you want to play USS Enterprise, play Azur Lane. She is THE MOST FEARSOME warship in the game. Azur Lane got almost all the most iconic German warship in the game too.
    The Russians?!? They got one light cruiser, although an upcoming event will featured a small number of them, build, open fire or at least lay down.
