- Hi guys !
In this video, I'm gonna show you how to make some cheap and easy recovery tracks mount !
You're not gonna need a lot of tools and also, you don't have to weld anything.
These mounts are pretty sturdy, secured and fully removable.
How to find the plastic knobs ?
For France/EU : amzn.to/3iFUUqD
For USA : amzn.to/39Lew8A
So if you have a pair of maxtrax, X bull, TRED or another brand of recovery boards on the back of your rig and a bit of spare time ... You should go for it !

Just a note: Small black parts that you have to remove to use are begging for said parts to get lost on the trail... I tend to paint easily lost parts bright orange (including my recovery boards... professional off roaders have been known to forget a board in the mud when doing recovery with a group outing)... it does not hurt that I drive an Inferno Orange Tacoma, so it LOOKS like I am trying to color match to my truck paint :)
I like the simplicity of the video and the project, and I love that you are doing the work in your back yard even more. Too many youtubers out there have the backyard workshop with all the sponsored tools thy could need... meanwhile us mere mortals are lucky to have a garage, and seldom have fully outfitted fabrication shops at home.
Nice and simple
Thanks!
Nicely done! Instead of using the 4 tubes you could cut 2 more pieces of flat steel and drill 2 holes (per piece of steel) and place them across the top of the boards so the boards are sandwiched between the original flat steel and the new ones you just cut. Then tighten the star knobs down like normal. You'll acheive and even tighter fit and there are less pieces to lose if you remove the boards for a recovery.
Yes you are right ! First I was thinking about 1 piece of flat steel under each knob (the pieces I showed at the beginning but I didn't used) and had the tube idea just after ! I love the clean look with just the knobs on top of the recovery tracks. If i find a way to fix the tubes to the knobes, it would be perfect !
Very good. That’s given me some ideas. Thanks. 👍
Thank you s very much for the making of this video. I just bought some ramps for my Jeep and for the life of me could not figure out what thoughs tubes were for. I understand now, thank you...
Always happy to share!
Eureka! You're design is the winner lol. Great idea, great job. Watched another video which drilled through factor bars and only had one secure point but orienting the boards along the bar makes more sense. Thanks for posting this!
My pleasure! I'm glad it helped you 😉
The simplest ideas are the best as demonstrated here.
We'll done Jordan.
Many thanks ! Sometimes, keeping it simple is the way to go 👊
Very nice. That was my former mount set up on the Jeep and Trailer. However, I changed it, as I had some problems with my hands. So, I have my setup now better for me. But, your video gave me an impulse that I have to make my mount nicer. And I found an idea for that. Thanks Jordan.
Awesome ! I'm really glad to hear that my video inspired you ! 🙏
Elegant work, good sir. Extremely well done.
Thanks a lot 🙏

Had this idea but couldn't visualise it, thanks for sharing!
My pleasure! Glad it helped 🙏
Im a toyota tundra guy but damn this channel can really be great for any vehicle platform.
Sure ! a lot of how to/DIY here can be used on other vehicles !
Feel free to share !
Great idea !
Thanks 😁
looks good man thanks
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 🙏
Great! And so cheap compared to the $60 mounts sold by max tracks
I like the idea of the lock, putting a hole in the threaded rods
And it works like a charm 😁
@@ALNSMOVERLAND yeah it's like the most simple thing I don't know why I never thought of that
Thanks for sharing man!
My pleasure! 🙏
Thank you man! I kinda had something in mind, but i like your idea better! I will definitely be doing this. "Subscribed"

Really nicely conceived mounting system. It's so funny...I've JUST been working on the same thing and should be posting my video of it tomorrow. 8^D Some of it will look familiar, LOL. Nice work Jordan, this is great, and very well explained too.
Many thanks ! This is a really funny coincidence 😂😂😂 I'm gonna check your video ! 😉
Thanks bro!
🙏
Nice job.
Thanks 🙏
Great idea, might have to make my own now!
Go for it ! I should have done this sooner ...
Thx for sharing. How long are the long bolts?
Yoooo I love it! Thanks dude! I'm buying a Crosstrek and going to Overland it. I wanted to use Prinsu stuff, but I could pay the car off by the time I was done setting up the rack 😂🤣😂
😂😂😂 I can understand that! Always happy to help!
Nice videos man. Yesterday I also bought a forester sf, also with a bad clutch, also for the same price you bought it with the same km and also green colour! Would be nice if you could make more videos about your car. Maybe about how you maintain it or for example tires or specific repairs. Love the forester, I will do the clutch myself but dont have te time to do it the next two weeks. Will ride my Renault 19 little longer. I will also get a rooftent, liftkit an at tires and will go in summer to Sweden for a month with my girlfriend.
First wanted to get a suzuki jimny but glad we got the forester. Allthough a little expensive to own in the Netherlands its worth it. Keep up the good work man! Salut
Awesome ! And you are right maybe I can make more video about the car itself ! There is a perfect tutorial for your clutch work on YT by a guy named citroen2v or something like this. It's not that hard but I took me a lot of time. I also struggled a bit to put the gearbox back in place by myself.
Anyway, good choice with the foz and have fun with it ! 🙏 also, thank you for your comment and your support ! 👊
Nice video mate
Thanks! 🙏
Hi, bro! Cool story !
Yeeeah 🙌
Nice
🙏
2 Suggestions: [1] Use plastic underground water pipe forced over the base of the finger nuts to replace your tube spacers. Makes a one-piece long finger-nut and theres 4 less things to lose when doing a quick recovery. [2] Use black heat-shrink insulation on the threaded rod to hide the missing paint. There's room for it in the recovery board holes and it won't wear off.
You sound like a chef 😂😂
Maybe I am a chef! 👨🍳
@@ALNSMOVERLAND in that case, you’re making the wrong kind of videos 😂
Damn, that's true 😂 but I do have a video where I try to cook frog legs 🇫🇷
@@ALNSMOVERLAND awesome, I’m gonna check it out!
Very good what kind of recovery track are those please share that
Thanks ! They are Djebel Xtreme recovery tracks. but you can find them under a lot of other names like Xbull

🙅🏽♂️ making it more easyer indeed
Yeeees ! 🙌
👍
🙏🙏
Can you link where you found the knobs for this?
For France/EU : amzn.to/3iFUUqD
For USA : amzn.to/39Lew8A
🙏
Good. But why you need 2 locks?
Because it's better than one
"All you need are these materials"
*starts cutting metal*
Ahaha, an angle grinder is pretty affordable I guess! I don't have a lot of fancy tools
DIY my ass
🤔
@@stoenyce he literally just did it himself, with basic tools..,..
Nice mount but the drilling and cutting of steel is everything but safe.
Nothing's safe in this world anymore 😂
Hardcore black paint with a fat cap hmmmm
What is with the fuggin BG Music?
👍
Glad you enjoyed!
