I work in a paper mill with plenty of adults that cant even run a fork truck let alone a tractor or combine. You got that right when you said your kids can run equipment better than most adults.

It's not like it use to be we were just barely able to walk and we were on tractors like the old Farmall m and h with the clamshell fenders and open tires inches from us. Today you put a kid on a lawn tractor and god forbid you are endangering them. It's all part of dumbing down society. @@bitspieces3885 these people who believe they are protecting children by not allowing them to live and learn aren't doing anything good for the children they raising a helpless entitled generation that can't do anything for theirselves but yet they all expect $20 or more an hour wage with a $2 an hour work ethic. We have a farm here in east ny near Albany, We milk around 100 cows and usually have 100-150 dry cows and heifers we aren't big by no means just a small family farm and the people that have came through the barn in the 20-25 years makes you wonder how they dress themselves and they all expect high wages more than what us owners make ourselves. They are lazy, show up when they feel like, have no pride in anything, I'm in my upper 40s I have pins and plates in my legs, 2 replacement discs in my back and due for a knee replacement in the next 8 months and my other family members on the farm are early 60s one has Afib and the other is one eyed and us 3 older guys can still unload hay wagon every 15-20 minutes and a few weekends ago we had 6 teens come to unload wagons and it took them 40-45 minutes a wagon and we just shook our heads here we are old guys we are in the barn from 5 in the morning till usually 9 at night and we can unload wagons every 15-20 minutes and these teen take twice as long and our wagons aren't even stacked like they use to be when my grandfather was alive we get 125-150 bales kicked on our wagons we use to stack wagons 4 to 5 tiers above the racks when I was a teen and we use blow through them like nothing unloading them because we were being paid by the wagon and we use to be able to make bank on hay days alot more than being paid by the hour and we still pay by the wagon today and when we tell kids we pay $8 a wagon they leave but if you are working and think about what they can make they can make money and we try to explain it to them and they are loss, unload 4-5 wagons an hour you make $30-$40 an hour if we pay you by the hour it's gonna be between $10-$14 an hour and you aren't gonna take an hour to unload a wagon and if you do we can't use you. Some of the other local farm kids come and help if they don't have anything going on on their farms and most of them are happy with $5 a wagon. It's a sad world out there today and I feel sorry for most of the kids because they have no clue what is missed.Most of the old generations will tell you farming is work yet some of the best memories that many people hold onto were made on a farm nothing like being a child and out on a tractor raking or tedding hay or pulling wagons in and out of barnyard or having all your buddies with you making working bets of who can stack faster or neater or unload faster all while getting the work done. I have taught my kids many of the farmer's ethics and skills and even though neither one want to be on the farm and do the farm life they still make me proud of what they do and both work hard for what they have and don't expect handouts.

When I was 7 yrs old my dad put me on a Ford 8n tractor, leaving me alone with no one around for miles, raking hay and it didn't have a cab. I had to stand up to operate the clutch and brakes. Like you say they are safe in that envionment. It looks like they enjoy operating equipment. love your videos

Years ago I ran a green pea combine for the local canning factory when they still cut them with tractor mounted swathers. When the mechanics needed to pull the sickle out-a mess, full of dirt, they would hook a chain from the sickle end to their shop truck and take a run at it a couple times to get it to slide out.
Someone that was raised on a dairy when we were old enough to push in the clutch we were old enough to operate equipment and expected to. For someone that wasn’t and has never been on a farm, and thinks everything on your dinner table comes from Walmart and krogers making decisions about what is safe probably is working remotely for the big tube living in momma’s basement and has three shades of different color hair and looks like they fell face first in a tackle box. The tractors and equipment we had years ago was lots more dangerous than what is use today and all of us still have all our didgets and toes.
You dont ever need to explain yourself. We know you teach your kids everything about the equipment and saftey. So youtube needs to leave you alone. Farmers are some of the safest people around. I love watching your videos because you have the whole family involved in the business. I've never noticed you put your family in danger. Great video as always. I was born and raised on a farm in Indiana we started working as soon as physically possible so I love seeing you and your family working together. It’s amazing how big Charlotte has gotten.

My kids have been on equipment since they were babies and my second oldest son can run a tractor and a loader better than most adults. He loads hay faster than people with a telehandler but he has been doing it for 10 yrs and we move thousands of bales multiple times. I wish I would have filmed him 6 years old running a 939 and a 977 loader in the dirt pit when he turned 8 he was loading dump trucks. He is like all farm kids raised around cattle, equipment and dangers. He has been taught like all farm kids including his 4 siblings where not to be. City people are not around our world and they just don't understand it. Great video andy 👍 it was bound to happen you guys got a great family farm.

Andy, i’m pretty sure those YT sensors have never as so much operated a lawn mower let alone farm equipment!! Growing up in Oregon I got to operate lots of farm equipment when I was a kid! Helped me out in the Airforce running let’s of strange stuff. Keep up the great teaching your doing. Thanks much for sharing your videos.
In High School, our Drivers Ed Instructor could always tell if he had farm kids in the car, or if he had city kids. The city kids always had to have more instruction than the farm kids. Actually, us farm kids got cheated out of driving time, because he had to use extra time on the city kids. I do not think that CZcams realizes the training that farm kids get, before they can actually run equipment by themselves. I do not think there are any Farm Parents that want their kids to get hurt or killed. I had to prove to my parents that I could safely run the tractors and equipment, before I was let loose on my own. Not only did my parents not want me to get hurt, but I was operating expensive equipment that they did not want to get wrecked.

Andy I started driving equipment at age 7 years old on older tractor with no cabs and cabs with broken windows and still here to talk about it out in the fields doing what ever I had too do.. absolutely nothing wrong starting the kids out young on equipment… my special needs son runs the skid steer all by him self sitting on my lap

I was raised on a farm. I was driving tractors when I was 9. Being raised on a family farm means that everyone is taught how to work. From using a hoe to chop out weeds to running farm machinery. You are doing a great job with your family.
I grew up on a farm back in the 80’s. I was driving tractor when I was 10 years old. You are a great parent. Your kids are passionate for the farm life, You can see it in their eyes keep up the good work
Andy my dad had me working around cows when I was 5 years old. City people don't know anything about farm families. Sure I had some hurts but that's how you learn what and what not to do.

Andy, another wonderful video, showing everyone the work involved in working on the farm. These corporations today, many times think/believe they are God and they know what is best and correct. Being a country boy, growing up on the farm, running farm machinery and working in the family owned and run butcher shop/grocery store. And then I became a career firefighter/paramedic. You run a very good operation. And certainly work to put safety first. CZcams and other corporations would likely take down other videos etc, when so called children are involved. A few examples, involving other family owned/operated businesses. A 16 year old operating a tow truck, a teenager (I believe most states require the age of at least 18, with some being 21 for a non-family member) operating a meat slicer (as you find in the deli department at the grocery store) and driving a licensed farm truck on the road. There certainly are more examples. The law's of this country and state's provide for family members to do many job's. Where the average person/non-family member need to be older to be able to do that job. The simple reason why, we grew up watching and learning how to operate piece's of machinery and equipment. One example involving myself, I was old enough to reach the petals, while mowing grass, on my own I began moving the cattle trucks, grain trucks. Some were straight truck and others were tractor/trailer. This was in the second half of the '60's. I acknowledge, I didn't do much, the first time. I could drive straight forward and straight backing up. Letting me mow all the grass around the buildings. Today, I am sure CZcams etc, would have an issue showing a video of me doing those things on the farm and in our butcher shop. Some things are just out of control, with the power some of our corporations think they have. Plus, I really liked your examples of what other CZcams channels are able to do and show. With zero regard for the safety of the people in their videos. Andy, you run a tight ship. You are exactly correct you don't put your children in harms way. Your children are wearing proper clothing (not loose fitting), your daughters have their hair pulled back etc. Again, Andy thank you for another awesome video. Showing your subscribers and viewers your family owned farming operation. Please don't stop! May God bless you and your family.
My first farm memories were from around age 6-7 driving through the hayfield while the bales were loaded. By 13-14 I was working fields on my own at either of my grandparents farms. It’s sad people today don’t get those opportunities to develop an understanding and skills. Lots of precious memories are made in the process.
Dang I thought for sure I was going to be right about a combine upgrade! But if that beast has been treating you well, it's better to maintain it than to upgrade. As a farmer and father of 2 girls, I love seeing your kids help as much as they do, especially the girls. They obviously enjoy working with you, so keep doing what your doing!
The farm I work at in central Michigan started wheat Tuesday afternoon and hopefully will get done tomorrow before the rain. They have a newer combine with a 40ft draper head. I got to learn all about changing knives and the hold downs on the head 😂 what fun
I loved growing up on a farm. Taught me more responsibility at the age of 9 than most city kids. I remember my gramps sending out on the B to rake hay. He taught me how to drive a 70 with the hand clutch and a 3 bottom plow.

Farming is in top ten most dangerous occupation. It is not about being a great parent, or how good it is to see good kids around the farm working, or family ties that mean something. I watch these videos for the honesty to hard work and incredible knowledge and skill shown. I am not the only one who has commented to the concern for safety on this channel.
It is far more important to teach children to recognize danger than to isolate them from dangers. The fact that you videoed a younger Charlotte driving the combine meant that her Dad was right there, just like when she was driving you home. The confidence building and instruction you give your kids is why they can safely fly solo. Most of the people, or the computers, who work at CZcams have not had that advantage.
I sometimes feel a bit sorry for Andrew. He hauls box stall manure through the winter, but as soon as the sun comes out his sisters swoop in and take all the glory. Poor bugger
Your kids operating equipment is as you say no more dangerous than walking down the road, its not like they have never done it before, they have grown up around heavy equipment and will have a nature respect for it, it was exactly the same for me when i was young growing up on the farm.

At that age I was driving a JD B by myself, no fenders , no seatbelt and narrow front. A grain farmer neighbor used his daughter to drive fertilizer truck between fields in the spring. Make sure road was clear, put truck in gear and leave the cab. When she got to next field she just shut off key. I agree somewhat about danger a young kid died while pushing manure off a freestall barn manure ramp and flipped the bobcat in the spreader.
You tube is hard to believe we all learned to run equipment with our parents your equipment is way safer than what I learned on there is great value in teaching kids to work it will serve them well
you tube would have an aneurysm if they would seen us running low horsepower open station tractors spreading manure hauling overweight hay/silage wagons when we were only 9 10 yrs old
Andy if you had that kid on a motorcycle, 4 wheeler or doing "fun" stuff it would have probably been fine. But on a machine they need to learn how to use and being productive is a different matter with YT apparently. So, Yeah, I'd keep the kid's safety in mind first, but otherwise *I* would keep being the dad and let YT keep being socially and politically correct. Thanks for the videos. 👍

It's a sad world out there today and I feel sorry for most of the kids because they have no clue what is missed.Most of the old generations will tell you farming is work yet some of the best memories that many people hold onto were made on a farm nothing like being a child and out on a tractor raking or tedding hay or pulling wagons in and out of barnyard or having all your buddies with you making working bets of who can stack faster or neater or unload faster all while getting the work done. I have taught my kids many of the farmer's ethics and skills and even though neither one want to be on the farm and do the farm life they still make me proud of what they do and both work hard for what they have and don't expect handouts.
It only takes one troll to flag a video and CZcams comes unglued!

I agree with you. You Tube like Facebook and Twitter are laughable with some of their reasonings. I ran farm equipment as a young boy and was trained well enough that I would not do stupid things. It’s a family farm for crying out loud. You’re a great dad and a good decision maker.

When I was 7 yrs old my dad put me on a Ford 8n tractor, leaving me alone with no one around for miles, raking hay and it didn't have a cab. I had to stand up to operate the clutch and brakes. Like you say they are safe in that envionment. It looks like they enjoy operating equipment. love your videos

Years ago I ran a green pea combine for the local canning factory when they still cut them with tractor mounted swathers. When the mechanics needed to pull the sickle out-a mess, full of dirt, they would hook a chain from the sickle end to their shop truck and take a run at it a couple times to get it to slide out.

Someone that was raised on a dairy when we were old enough to push in the clutch we were old enough to operate equipment and expected to. For someone that wasn’t and has never been on a farm, and thinks everything on your dinner table comes from Walmart and krogers making decisions about what is safe probably is working remotely for the big tube living in momma’s basement and has three shades of different color hair and looks like they fell face first in a tackle box. The tractors and equipment we had years ago was lots more dangerous than what is use today and all of us still have all our didgets and toes.
You dont ever need to explain yourself. We know you teach your kids everything about the equipment and saftey. So youtube needs to leave you alone. Farmers are some of the safest people around. I love watching your videos because you have the whole family involved in the business. My kids have been on equipment since they were babies and my second oldest son can run a tractor and a loader better than most adults. He loads hay faster than people with a telehandler but he has been doing it for 10 yrs and we move thousands of bales multiple times. I wish I would have filmed him 6 years old running a 939 and a 977 loader in the dirt pit when he turned 8 he was loading dump trucks. He is like all farm kids raised around cattle, equipment and dangers. He has been taught like all farm kids including his 4 siblings where not to be. City people are not around our world and they just don't understand it. Great video andy 👍 it was bound to happen you guys got a great family farm.

Andy, i’m pretty sure those YT sensors have never as so much operated a lawn mower let alone farm equipment!! Growing up in Oregon I got to operate lots of farm equipment when I was a kid! In High School, our Drivers Ed Instructor could always tell if he had farm kids in the car, or if he had city kids. The city kids always had to have more instruction than the farm kids. Actually, us farm kids got cheated out of driving time, because he had to use extra time on the city kids. I do not think that CZcams realizes the training that farm kids get, before they can actually run equipment by themselves. I do not think there are any Farm Parents that want their kids to get hurt or killed. I had to prove to my parents that I could safely run the tractors and equipment, before I was let loose on my own. Not only did my parents not want me to get hurt, but I was operating expensive equipment that they did not want to get wrecked.

Andy I started driving equipment at age 7 years old on older tractor with no cabs and cabs with broken windows and still here to talk about it out in the fields doing what ever I had too do.. absolutely nothing wrong starting the kids out young on equipment… my special needs son runs the skid steer all by him self sitting on my lap

I was raised on a farm. I was driving tractors when I was 9. Being raised on a family farm means that everyone is taught how to work. From using a hoe to chop out weeds to running farm machinery. You are doing a great job with your family.
I grew up on a farm back in the 80’s. I was driving tractor when I was 10 years old. You are a great parent. Your kids are passionate for the farm life, You can see it in their eyes keep up the good work
Andy my dad had me working around cows when I was 5 years old. City people don't know anything about farm families. Sure I had some hurts but that's how you learn what and what not to do.

These corporations today, many times think/believe they are God and they know what is best and correct.
Being a country boy, growing up on the farm, running farm machinery and working in the family owned and run butcher shop/grocery store. And then I became a career firefighter/paramedic. You run a very good operation. And certainly work to put safety first.
CZcams and other corporations would likely take down other videos etc, when so called children are involved. A few examples, involving other family owned/operated businesses. A 16 year old operating a tow truck, a teenager (I believe most states require the age of at least 18, with some being 21 for a non-family member) operating a meat slicer (as you find in the deli department at the grocery store) and driving a licensed farm truck on the road. There certainly are more examples. The law's of this country and state's provide for family members to do many job's. Where the average person/non-family member need to be older to be able to do that job. The simple reason why, we grew up watching and learning how to operate piece's of machinery and equipment. One example involving myself, I was old enough to reach the petals, while mowing grass, on my own I began moving the cattle trucks, grain trucks. Some were straight truck and others were tractor/trailer. This was in the second half of the '60's. I acknowledge, I didn't do much, the first time. I could drive straight forward and straight backing up. Letting me mow all the grass around the buildings. Today, I am sure CZcams etc, would have an issue showing a video of me doing those things on the farm and in our butcher shop. Some things are just out of control, with the power some of our corporations think they have. Plus, I really liked your examples of what other CZcams channels are able to do and show. With zero regard for the safety of the people in their videos.
Andy, you run a tight ship. You are exactly correct you don't put your children in harms way. Your children are wearing proper clothing (not loose fitting), your daughters have their hair pulled back etc.

My first farm memories were from around age 6-7 driving through the hayfield while the bales were loaded. By 13-14 I was working fields on my own at either of my grandparents farms. It’s sad people today don’t get those opportunities to develop an understanding and skills. Lots of precious memories are made in the process.

The farm I work at in central Michigan started wheat Tuesday afternoon and hopefully will get done tomorrow before the rain. They have a newer combine with a 40ft draper head. I got to learn all about changing knives and the hold downs on the head 😂 what fun

I loved growing up on a farm. Taught me more responsibility at the age of 9 than most city kids. I remember my gramps sending out on the B to rake hay. He taught me how to drive a 70 with the hand clutch and a 3 bottom plow.

Farming is in top ten most dangerous occupation. It is not about being a great parent, or how good it is to see good kids around the farm working, or family ties that mean something. I watch these videos for the honesty to hard work and incredible knowledge and skill shown. I am not the only one who has commented to the concern for safety on this channel.

It is far more important to teach children to recognize danger than to isolate them from dangers. The fact that you videoed a younger Charlotte driving the combine meant that her Dad was right there, just like when she was driving you home. The confidence building and instruction you give your kids is why they can safely fly solo. Most of the people, or the computers, who work at CZcams have not had that advantage.
I sometimes feel a bit sorry for Andrew. He hauls box stall manure through the winter, but as soon as the sun comes out his sisters swoop in and take all the glory. Poor bugger

Your kids operating equipment is as you say no more dangerous than walking down the road, its not like they have never done it before, they have grown up around heavy equipment and will have a nature respect for it, it was exactly the same for me when i was young growing up on the farm.
I enjoy watching your kids run the equipment in the farming operation. And wat a see they do it safely, and with a responsibility that many adults can take as an example from. Keep it up and keep it safe. Good job dad.

Andy, when harvesting canola you will find all the leaks in the combine and trucks etc. Flaxseed really flows like water with its shiny coat.
I fully agree with you there a flax seed will find holes even water won't run out 😂
At that age I was driving a JD B by myself, no fenders , no seatbelt and narrow front.
A grain farmer neighbor used his daughter to drive fertilizer truck between fields in the spring. Make sure road was clear, put truck in gear and leave the cab. When she got to next field she just shut off key.
I agree somewhat about danger a young kid died while pushing manure off a freestall barn manure ramp and flipped the bobcat in the spreader.

But on a machine they need to learn how to use and being productive is a different matter with YT apparently.
