its name is NED and it represents their creativity. Ned represents the inspiration and want to write music, but he doesn’t want to come out at first, maybe he’s scared. Notice how Josh and Tyler keep having to add more and more chlorine to the pool, chlorine in my opinion is the motivation to get Tyler’s inspiration ‘swimming’. When Ned is in the pool his horns start to grow on his head, meaning it’s working and he’s changing, evolving much like TOP’s music, but then the following shot shows Tyler in the pool, no water in sight and he looks incredibly ‘drained’. Ned walks up to him and Josh hands him a small cup of motivation, but Tyler is reluctant to drink it, because as just with the water of the pool, it’s drained and nothing is there, one small glass isn’t going to help fill the entire pool is it, and when Tyler offers Ned the option to drink he doesn’t. His motivation and inspiration doesn’t want to drink.

His name is Ned, and we love him.
I always like Josh in their vids. He's just the big constant. I thought it quite fitting that he roll that drum. Drums are his thing after all.

I have never thought of it like that, but you definitely hit it spot on!

I have a similar way of looking at the pool but in a different perspective. I interpret the pool a bit differently. Much like chlorine is deadly is you have to much but is also cleansing, Tyler creates best at his lowest, but it’s detrimental to him. Ned horns grow fully as he flourishes in the deadly chlorine. This interpretation can also be put into the line “rebel red carnation, grows while I decay”

yeah thats true but the chlorine is also a duality thing, it can be good but it can also be bad, its the creative process at its basic form. Tyler needs to bring out all of his fears and insecurities to create music and its really bad for him but its also a thing that heals him, in some sort of a way... there is this minidocu series in youtube of a fellow clique that explains a trench in his point of view (and mine is also really similar) its really good, it goes by the name "Twenty one pilots universe" i really recomend it.

I think you should give a underrated band that's big in Japan a shot. Their name is One OK Rock, and their songs are currently written in English, but due to them being signed to Fueled By Ramen (TOP is also signed there!) AND a Japanese label, they have to record a Japanese version of each song as well. They were going to tour with Linkin Park a week before lead singer Chester passed, and the vocalist Taka idolized him. He did get to meet Chester and the rapper/main songwriter of Linkin Park Mike Shinoda has produced 2 songs for the band. Their song "The Beginning" currently has 154 million views, and is their most popular song. I would highly recommend you give this band your attention, as they are breaking the "Japanese Rock" or "J-Rock" mould and aiming to become as big as possible in America. Taka owns a house in LA, and their 2017 album Ambitions sold 400k copies worldwide in its first week, knocking Ariana Grande our in her second week of release. They consistently sell out arenas of upwards of 50k in their home country, and they give some of the best live performances I've ever seen, with high quality dvd's. I promise you will not be disappointed.

If there was ever a song to just go drive alone to this is it. Just go for a long drive and sing along whether you can hit the notes or you can't. I can't, I sing it anyway. It's one of those type of joints.

I think Ned is supposed to represent us and the pool is the music that Tyler and Josh create so them filling it up with chlorine is the new era, getting rid of the old one. So Ned is cautious to jump in
