I was surprised Gilmour wasn't used against Czech Republic. The lad held the Scotland midfield better than the England mid fielders and showed everyone how calm he was at his age.

Peter Anderson no chance chelsea sells him. Like zero chance. He is seen as the long term replacement for Jorginho. He may get a loan to a prem side this season but will be back at Chelsea next year. I think they will only loan him if they can get him to the right club. They will want him at a team between 5th-11th or so and in a team that plays with the ball. Leeds would be ideal imho.

Folk slating Griff saying 7 goals and 2 assists in 26 appearances is crap, but they're not taking into account most of his appearances were between 5 and 10 mins, he had 901 mins overall, that's 10 games and 7 and 2 in ten games is a quality return.
I feel sorry for him, helping get us there and not be picked for supposed lack of game time when Fraser and Forrest have about an hour between them, must have felt like a boot to the sacks.

He can be in a midfield crowded out and can take the ball move it and find a man and not lose it time and time again. His awareness and position is very similar to a young Ian Durrant. Next up will be Modric it’s going to be a brilliant battle. I just hope he gets game time at Chelsea he seems well in there now and can be awesome for them and Scotland for a long long time
McGregor was immense beside Gilmour, not getting much plaudits but he brought a level head.
Everyones getting excited about Gilmour because he's young but he was able to play well because he was playing with McGregor and McGinn. The three of them together worked really well as a trio. McGregor rarely has a bad game, very consistent and hard working player.

I felt the game yesterday was a superlative performance by Scotland and a tactical masterpiece by the manager. Scotland stopped world class opponents from playing. Was Harry Kane even on the pitch? Steve Clarke has found a system which will accommodate all of his best players. Scotland were the hungrier team. Robertson and Tierney were world class. Mcgregor had his best game for years and Gilmour beside him in midfield looks highly promising. I watched Scotland play Holland recently and it was very similar, Scotland did have to defend at times against England but Scotland attacked at every opportunity. Che Adams had 2 shots blocked from close range, failed to turn a header into an empty net and failed to score from close range late on. Lyndon Dykes had a shot cleared off the line too. Scotland need to be more ruthless in converting chances against Croatia if they are to qualify. The feel good factor is now back.

Clarke had no intention of including Gilmour in his squad, but due to the public outcry of such a talented player being left out - he gave in and added him to the squad. The difference was that for Scotland, it felt like a win and England it felt like a loss. The bigger picture is England can qualify. Lets not get too down. No English fan believed this year we were playing amazing football and going to set the world alight.
Tournament football is about building momentum. The worrying thing is, England seemed to have a better squad than 2018 but seem to be going backwards.
Gareth Southgate seems to be saying I'm my own man, I won't play Grealish just because the public are clamouring for him and also showing he can take Kane off. Kane has had no real service. Sterling (who gives England a lot) is just trying to score himself and Foden is cutting in and trying to place the ball in the left of the net. Mount is also just trying to score by cutting in from the left and trying to curl it into the top right hand corner. Kane needs service.
