시즌 2 나온다고 작가가 마고신 통해서 얘기 했음ㅋㅋㅋ 저승으로 가기위해 떠도는 영혼들의 이야기는 계속 되어야 하니까 라고 근데 일단 블루문으로 넘어가기엔 델루나 떡밥이 안풀린게 너무 많아서 과거형으로 시즌2 미래형으로 시즌3 기획하고 만찬이들 스토리 다 풀고 블루문으로 넘어가는게 가장 옳은 선택임 홍작가들이 델루나를 길게 보고 있다면 그게 옳을 거 같음
저도 그 대사가 생각나서 아닌가 했는데 마지막회에서도 어린 구찬성이 구해주고 그 이후가 안나왔기때문에 이도 열린 해석으로 다양하게 해석될 소지가 있는거 같아요. 어린 만월이 도적패가 아니라 상인으로 오해하여 알 수도 있는거고, 마고신의 농간으로 기억이 왜곡됐을 수도있구요(구찬성이 조선시대로 갔었을때 기억처럼) 구찬성네가 돌봐주다 마을에 있는 연우 엄마에게 맡길 가능성도 있지 않을까 하는 저의 개인적인 상상의 나래를 펴봤습니다ㅋㅋㅋ
솔직히 구찬성이 남자주인공 진영에서 가장 손해본 케이스가 아닐까 생각합니다. 고청명은 그나마 오해를 풀고 천국으로 떠났으며 연우는 환생해서 전생에 원수였지만 현생에선 송화와 헤피엔딩을 맞이했죠. 결국은 마고신은 구찬성을 쓰고 버리는 카드로 보여지는 결말이었습니다. 구찬성의 인격상 장만월의 그림자와 귀신을 보는 귀안으로써 이후 제대로 된 생활은 할 수 없었을테니까요. 만월, 찬성, 청명, 연우 4인중 구찬성이 가장 불쌍하네요.
이 드라마 정말 제 인생 드라마 중 하나로 꼽을 만한 드라만데.... 마지막이 리뷰해주신 대로 정말 실망했습니다. 구찬성의 가슴 속에 남아있는 월령수 꽃으로 장만월이 돌아왔고 멈춘 시간이 다시 흐르며 둘이 함께 살다가 죽는 그런 해피엔딩일 줄 알았는데 갑자기 김수현이 나와서 좀 그랬어요... ㅠㅠㅠ 만찬 안녕.... 👋 😭😭😭😭
@@user-gt4dz7ck4c 장만월이 죽으면 사람을 워낙많이 죽였으니 당연히 악귀로 변할것이고 4번째 마고신에게 소멸될것이뻔하니 1번째 마고신이 죽기전에 달의객잔에 잡아놓은듯합니다 그리고 죽은상태였다면 1회차에 살아있는 살수들이 죽은장만월을 추척할리가없죠 내용보시면 살수들이 장만월에 죽은뒤 영혼이되는게 나와요 그리고 죽은상태였다면 이미 행한행동이 악해서 악귀상태인데 4번째 악귀소멸신이 그냥 놔뒀을리도 없구요
@@user-qh5cu7ys3j 장만월이 죽었다는 설정은 없었지만 달의 객잔이라는것이 죽은 사람에게안 보인다는 설정이었으니 장만월은 이미 죽어서 달의객잔을 찾아 헤매었을수도 있습니다.그리고 살생을 했다고는 하지만 누구처럼 사람을 죽여 그 사람의 무언가를 보며 즐거워하지 앓고, 유품들을 한데 모아 둔것을 달의 객잔을 찾을 때까지 힘들게 가지고 다닐정도면 죄는 늬우치고 있었다고 생각 됩니다.그래서 마고신에게 소멸되지 않고 그동안의 살생의 벌로 아주 긴 시간의 벌을 받은거 아닐까요?

In my opinion,i wouldn't mind a season 2, get to know other ppl stories, that doesn't necessarily mean i will forgot about Manwol and Goo chan seong but just that other people have also great stories to tell😊
I read an enterview with hong sisters and they said that they even unknown about the last scene with kim soo hyun, they said that they were impresive by this scene, actually was an idea from the director, I was thinking about the same as you, I love so much to kim but it was very unnecessary, they could imply this scene in other form, but it was so refreshing that I could seen this drama, HDL was very amazing since the dialogues, performance from the actors and cinematography (the photography is so amazing) was very very beautiful, and also love how the story was developed, I really enjoy the histories like this.

결말은 '도깨비'와 비슷하게 시간이 흘러도 둘의 사랑은 영원하다 뭐 이런식으로 해석했습니다. 2달동안 재밌는 드라마를 봐서 너무 좋았고 어퍼컷님의 리뷰를 보면서 이야기 나눌 수 있어서 좋았습니다. 짧게 드라마 총평을 해보자면 장점: 영상미(색감)이 좋다 , 매력적인 캐릭터간의 케미가 좋다, 달의객잔이라는 참신한 설정 단점: 지나친 떡밥 투척과 떡밥 미회수, 결말부에 이르러 중요 이야기를 급하게 마무리 한 느낌 ----> 이야기 구성이 아주 촘촘하지는 못했다

You really did a good job in summing everything up, it was a beautiful bittersweet ending that is fitted for the drama. But you were definitely correct in terms of kim soo hyun appearing at the end. As I’ve watch Hotel De Luna from beginning to end, I wish that the hype would be for the characters of the drama especially the Unconditional Love of both Man Weol and Chan Seong since it was so beautifully portrayed by both actors. And how most character in the drama was able to find peace and moved on, To the after life. They should be receiving the hype for their Hard work, This is just my thought as a Fan of this Drama. And dont get me wrong I’m also a fan of kim soo hyun since dream high. But Yeo Jin Goo is extremely gifted in delivering all the emotion of Chan Seong his undying Love for her made him choose to let her go instead of tying her with him, for her to finally find peace after 1300 years of Resentment, sadness and loneliness. Lee Jieun (IU) for her stelar portrayal of Jang Man Weol. Kudos to all who made Hotel De Luna, this Drama will stay in my heart for a long time. 🤧😭🌹

I personally like the ending, and yeah except kim soohyun's epilogue...you're right,it's cool & all but it's like forcing us to erase the sadness we felt for ManChan & Hotel Del Luna trio staffs. The writers or PD are like trying to scout Kim Soohyun for their next drama,hence that extravagant epilogue for him. It did give off feeling like they didn't love their characters to the core. Hi, this is the second "Hotel De Luna" ending review I have seen, a hong kong guy reviewer on youtube said because the God put the blue flower in the male main characters chest, she kept all her memories, and could come back to him in real life. So the last scene isn't a dream sequence, but reality. Also, the other 3 characters being there too are hard to explain since they are supposed to reincarnate. I appreciate your video and explaining the concept in that book. It's the same book his mom try to keep in the library. I watch a lot of K-dramas, looking forward to more reviews from you. You didn't mention that this drama is getting some flack in China, because some of the plat are copied. I'm a huge fan and loved this drama. Although the ending seems weak. I was hoping for a spectacular exit of time travel or something, instead of this endless weeping and controlled tears bullshit.
장만월이 달의 객잔이라는것을 찿게 되는 가장 근본적인 원인이 바로 구찬성의 전생입니다. 자신의 어머니가 돌아가신 전생의 구찬성은 장만월이 어릴적 부모님이 살해당하고 버려젔을당시 걱정하지말아라. 죽은 사람들은 모두 달의 객잔이라는곳에 간다 라는 말을 해줍니다. 장만월이 추후 연우를 잃고 동료를 잃고 고청명을 죽인후 죽은이들을 위로하기위해 달의 객잔을 찿아 떠나는이유가 바로 전생의 구찬성이 해준 달의 객잔 이야기 때문이죠. 즉 델루나의 가장 큰 세계관인 달의 객잔의 존제를 장만월에게 심은것이 전생의 구찬성이기 때문에 구찬성과 장만월의 인연은 장만월의 그 어떤 전생의 연보다 길고 깊다고 볼수 있을꺼 같네요. 구찬성의 전생이 그곳에서 장만월에게 달의 객잔 이야기를 하지 않았다면 장만월은 원령수에 묶일 일도 없었으며 1300년이 지난후 구찬성으로서 환생한 어린 소년과의 연도 이어질수 없었겠죠. 가장 근본적이자 가장 중요한 장면이 16화 마지막화의 첫 회상 장면이라고 생각이 됩니다. 전생의 구찬성의 그 한마디가 1300년후 자신을 달의 객잔의 장만월이라는 전생의 인연에게 이끌어낸, 시간을 초월하는 나비 효과라고 해석이 가능할꺼 같습니다. 그렇기 때문에 장만월 본인도 구찬성이 전생의 자신과 어떤 연인지 기억하지 못할만큼 오래된 기억 가장 끝자락에서 처음으로 만난 인연인 떄문에 윤회한 현제의 구찬성에게 더욱더 끌렸을 것이며, 현제의 장만월이라고 하는 사람의 존제 그리고 근본이 되게한 구찬성에게 호감을 가지고 알수없는 끌림을 가질수 밖에 없게 된다 라고 전반적인 해석을 하면 될꺼 같습니다. 다들 드라마 첫 장면을 아 그렇구나 라고 쉽게 넘어가는거 같은데 개인적으로 델루나 1~16화중 가장 중요한 장면이 16화 첫 과거 장면이 아닐까 조심스럽게 생각합니다.

이건 개인적 의견이 담긴 Fiction이긴 한데 좀 재밌어서 들고 와봄 마지막이 구찬성의 상상이든 훗날의 생이든 이들 둘이 다시 만날 수 밖에 없는 이유 - 만월당으로 갈 때 : 오른쪽 (반시계 방향)으로 돔. - 같이 겨울을 볼 때 : 왼쪽 (시계 방향)으로 돔. 과거를 갈 때는 반시계 방향으로 갔는데 굳이 겨울을 보기 위해 시계 방향으로 도는 이유는? 바로 시계 방향으로 돌기 -> 미래를 향해 가기임을 암시함. 따라서 둘이 같이 겨울을 보는 장면은 미래의 어느 시간에서 끌어온 것이기 때문에 미래의 장만월과 구찬성은 서로 만날 수 밖에 없다는 것! 과거의 만월당으로 갈 때 마고신이 방향을 강조한 것도 여기에 있다고 생각함. 시계가 시간을 의미하기도 하고
뒤늦게 다는 댓글이지만 이거 억지 아닌듯.. 만월당 갈때 도는거랑 겨울 볼때 도는거를 대놓고 화면으로 보여준 거 보면 의도한 거 같아요 확실히 만월당 갈때는 반시계 방향이고 겨울 볼때는 시계 방향으로 도네요 이걸 알아챈 님도 대단하심 ㄷㄷ 시계 방향으로 돌고 나서 바로 장만월이 어디서 온 겨울이냐고 물어본 거 보면 미래의 장만월과 구찬성이 보내는 겨울이 확실하네요
man, this drama, straight up cut me in about seventy eight different pieces with the last episode alone. edit: "it's time to finish off, I was so happy to watch hotel del luna with you, I'll be back with a new, good drama." to me this accurately describes how the drama ended too. which is why I am not mad about the last cameo. it showed us that although Hotel del luna is no more, the guest house of the moon still exists. which I feel like is the whole point. rather than it being a disservice to the characters of Man Wol and Chun Seong, it gives us the understanding that they are now a part of history, one where Man Wol suffered a lot, and Chan Seong showed great courage. they are also a part of the possible future that they can one day maybe enjoy in another life, one where they are together. it's like passing the baton on, and although it means the head of hotel blue moon will again live a few thousand years in resentment, it gives up hope that one day his resentment will also find its end like Man Wol's. and like Man Wol's we would also find closure in the resentments we have. maybe through love. maybe through forgiveness.
rock roll So happy that I found this video and some of the comments here such as yours. Was feeling cut up just like you but reading your thoughts (and others here) gave me a sort of peace of mind. It did feel like there would be a possible future where they can be happy together without the harsh memories of this life. Like the one with Ma ri and Yeu On. But the same would have been possible in this one since she had lost the painful memories while on the bridge before coming back. Her finding closure through love was great too - just maybe that ending where she said that she had the chance to stay and now wanted to stay - that will linger on in my mind. It was a happy ending for me. It was the perfect ending. I’d like to perceive the end as the next life of Chansung and Manwol, they all still lived together even in the next life including Mr. Kim, Hyunjoong, and Ms. Choi. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ending than that, leaving the story’s perception up to us.
Exactly. I for one took it empathizing to chansung thinking that it would be years again until he sees manwol. Manwols goodbye was expected but I as much as possible tried to deny that it would end like this. I was hoping that theyd skip really like what the Goblin did in another series. God, IU is so pretty that i cant see her cry that much that it pains me so much when they said their good byes.
Finally they meet in their next life.Along with other members of hotel del lina living their lives separately but happily.man wol and chan sung finally met again in their next life as they promised to each other.someone said how can they all together in their next life? My answer is why not. Lee ma ri and yeon woo were also appeared in same lifetime then why not. Also Gods are involved in their tife too (eg MAGO). Ofcourse they forgot their past life of hotel del luna but they are living happily with love in their present.
They will always be together because they lives are connected from the beggining. That's why all throughout the series its about living. Letting go and living again becoming better people each time 😊
I like this video for me since I have a really good imagination and I don't like sad endings I thought of it as that everyone after they suffered a lot the had the chance to live happily in their next life and since ku chan seong & jang man wol are destined to be together so they met even in their next life For the second season as long as I love kim soo hyun and this drama I don't think it would be a good idea to have a second season first what's gonna be the difference between the 2 seasons the story is always the same the deities have a certain criteria for the moon hotel owner so they must have the same past well over all in my opinion I still think the best thing is to leave this drama as a one season the last part is just the continuation of the story cz man wal had to leave for the next owner to come and they just showed it

Up until now, I'm still wondering how Ku Chan Seong ended after Hotel Del Luna disappeared. I remembered Ma Go saying something to Chan Seong with the words like "Should I cut ties to the person who broke your heart?". I wonder if Chan Seong ended up with some other girl after Man Weol left. I think the ending was uh okay, but it could be better.
I think it's a happy ending, because it gives out a possiblity of a happy ending in the future for everyone. One of the biggest lessons this drama teaches is that 'if one wants to let go of a dark past, then they must let go of all the happy memories that comes with the past aswell. Jang Man Wol's past was filled with pain, so if she wants to be happy she has to let go of that hatred and pain and then pass on, but in order to do so she also has to let go of Gu Chan Seong, if she stayed she would always remember about the people who hurt her or were taken from her, which will be agonizing, it will also be hard because she will witness everyone's reincarnation where they are all different people in a different time with no memories of their past, while she over here remembers everything, which makes her hate them or love them, which makes her feel horrible because she is literally hating someone innocent because they don't remember anything. And we all know if she wanted to stay then she would have to drink that moon brewed drink, but then she won't be able to leave, while Gu Chan Seong would die of old age, thus leaving her alone. But if she passes away now then later much later she and Gu Chan Seong can reincarnate and love again. And there is a high chance of them falling in love again because when he and she met in the past, just a little selfless care was all that took to create such a connection between them, so imagine how much higher the chances of them meeting and falling in love again are when he cared and LOVED her in this present time.
크 어느 영화의 리뷰보다 훨씬 고퀄리티네요 처음 부터 안본게 후회될 정도입니다. 지금이라도 리뷰 다 찾아보겠습니다. 저랑 드라마를 동감하면서 재미있게 본 사람이 주변에는 많이없어서 이런 이야기를 나누는게 힘들었는데 , 여기 영상에서 제가 생각했더게 100프로 공감되서 너무 행복함을 느낌니다. 이드라마는 제 인생에서 끝까지 잊혀지지않을 명작이며 ost 또한 너무나 잘 편성되서 감동이 2~3배는 되는거 같네요 . 각설하고 제가 뒤늦게 델루나를 완주했지만 이영상을 늦게라도 보게되어 너무 좋았습니다. 앞으로 채널이 항상 건승하기를 기원하겠습니다. ps) 솔직히 아이유의 그 특유의 눈물 맺힌 연기가 너무나도 드라마 스토리와 잘 어울려서 너무 좋았습니다.. ㅋ 그리고 머리속에서 지워지지 않는 장면은 김선비님이 가고 나서 편지와 티얼스를 마시고 맛업다고 하면서 서럽게 우는 장면이 너무나 슬퍼서 펑펑 울어버렸습니다. 하하 저만 그런거 아니겠죠?ㅎ
철학적인 내용과 드라마 장면장면마다 쓰인 예술적인구도가 정말 좋았던 드라마였습니다. 몇몇 장면들은 좋은 그림을 보는 듯한 느낌이었어요. 그리고 아이유를 가장 아름답게 연출해낸 드라마였던건 틀림 없는것 같아요. 다만 설정과 인과관계가 치밀하진 않아서 인물들이 하는 선택들이 이해가 가지 않는 경우도 많았고, 호텔직원 삼인방의 생전 이야기들이 그렇게 임팩트 있는 이야기들은 아녔어요. 호텔에 찾아온 손님들 사연들과 크게 다르지 않았던것 같아요. 요런 부분들 아쉬웠지만 방학기간동안 주말밤에 보기 좋았던 드라마였습니다.
yep, and honestly, the ending doesnt make sense... I mean... Man Wol suppost to be alive, at the begining, they said her time stopped, she is not like the others. It suppost to be like the time just begin, but I dont know why they change it drastically and she would go to heaven... It doesnt make sense O_o

Thank you for your review. I felt that Jang Man-Wol couldn’t live out the rest of her life with Koo Chan-Sung because the overriding theme and tone of HDL was one of longing and unrequited love. So it was a bitter-sweet ending in which Koo Chan-Sung imagines them together again in another lifetime. The teaser/trailer ending with Kim Soo-Hyun and Hotel Blue Moon was crass, abrupt, and unwelcome as I was quietly reminiscing along with Koo Chan-Sung about all the relationships I had with the characters. Whether or not there’s a second season, that was the weakest part of the whole drama.
well said! i think we as viewers were somewhat prepared for Man-wol to leave, even if some of us hoped that they could be together for longer in this lifetime, because Chan-sung was chosen by Mago as the one to send her off into the afterlife, and it was mentioned quite a few times throughout the drama. therefore, even though the ending is not as obviously happy-happy as other dramas may be, we could still maintain the hope and belief that their connection will last for lifetimes to come in many different but beautiful forms. the last episode is also usually a time in the drama granted for us to lovingly remember Man-wol, Chan-sung, their relationship, along with the other great characters we'd come to understand, cheer for and appreciate. so seeing a confusing teaser with a whole new face and a situation totally unexplained, felt very jarring, inappropriate and abrupt indeed. it was almost akin to going to a funeral for a loved one and having someone tell you "ok, this person is gone, nothing else to see here, time for you to move on now". rude. this is just me as a viewer, but i need some time before jumping into another drama or storyline, and i usually alternate between emotional shows and comedy, so as to preserve and respect my feelings for these characters, and to give myself a break. seeing who became the new hotel owner was unnecessary, especially as there was no connection or allusion to his legendary predecessor, or explanation as to his relevance in relation the characters who had just left us. by the way, recent Google searches say that there isn't a season 2. so really, the writers tarnished the ending, and for no good reason other than to provide a cool cameo. other than that, Hotel Del Luna was one of my favourites.
Well said LorenzoNW. It was interesting that Chan-Sung was the person to tell her about the Moon Inn and therefore fittingly he be the one to see her off. That connection being the basis behind any future thought of them finding their way back to each other in another lifetime. They were both offered choices to be together whether now or in the past - BUT both chose no seeing as the long term prospect only benefitted one of them. Every character choosing the path for themselves was bittersweet.
I think the theme of the drama revolves more on the concept of "free will and choices".Choosing to forgive or to hold grudges and resenment. Choosing to let go but at the same time holding on (by not drinking the medicine from Mago and holding on to the beautiful memories of Hotel del Luna) and choosing to trust that you will meet again the person you love. But I agree, they should not have knitted the part of Kim Soo Hyun at the end.
I guess people are so upset when the ending is not what they expect lol. Both Man Wol and Chan Sung know they cannot live together in present (watch the end of E5, Man Wol said "i will be your last guest"). What they didn't know is how hard it will be for each other to let go when this eventually happens. Man Wol clearly realises this, she said "I am sorry that I made it impossible for you to keep me from leaving" in their final goodbye. So yes it is not as happy as we expect but forcing them to be together will cause the whole drama to lose its essence

꽃 떡밥은 충분히 풀렸습니다.
떡밥을 잘못 던진거죠. 아니면 던진 떡밥을 회수도 못한 거던지.
그도 아니면 세련이라는 착각에 빠진 작가의 실수죠.
구찬성 마음에 남겨두었던 꽃 한송이가 장만월이 저승으로 가야되는 상황을 막을 매개체로 사용될거라고 생각했는데 결국 떠나서 여운과 아쉬움이 많이 남네요 ..

솔직히 멈춰있는 시간이 다시 흘러 찬성이와 같은 시간을 함께 보내는 엔딩 기대했습니다. ㅜㅜ 혹시 떠나면 호랭이 옷 입고 울고 웃으며 떠나 보내는 장면도 기대했구요. 마지막화가 여태껏 봐온 15화가 잊어질 만큼 참담하고 슬퍼서 OST만 들어도 마음이 아픕니다ㅜㅜ
시즌 2 나온다고 작가가 마고신 통해서 얘기 했음ㅋㅋㅋ 저승으로 가기위해 떠도는 영혼들의 이야기는 계속 되어야 하니까 라고 근데 일단 블루문으로 넘어가기엔 델루나 떡밥이 안풀린게 너무 많아서 과거형으로 시즌2 미래형으로 시즌3 기획하고 만찬이들 스토리 다 풀고 블루문으로 넘어가는게 가장 옳은 선택임 홍작가들이 델루나를 길게 보고 있다면 그게 옳을 거 같음

만월이 과거 얘기할 때 '죽어가던 나를 상인이 거두어서 마을에 있던 연우 엄마에게 맡겼다'는 대사가 나옵니다! 구찬성과 지낸 건 아닌 것 같습니다.
저도 그 대사가 생각나서 아닌가 했는데 마지막회에서도 어린 구찬성이 구해주고 그 이후가 안나왔기때문에 이도 열린 해석으로 다양하게 해석될 소지가 있는거 같아요. 어린 만월이 도적패가 아니라 상인으로 오해하여 알 수도 있는거고, 마고신의 농간으로 기억이 왜곡됐을 수도있구요(구찬성이 조선시대로 갔었을때 기억처럼) 구찬성네가 돌봐주다 마을에 있는 연우 엄마에게 맡길 가능성도 있지 않을까 하는 저의 개인적인 상상의 나래를 펴봤습니다ㅋㅋㅋ
..그 부자가 아니었다면 만월의존재는 없었을 것...짧지만 굉장히 강력한 인연이었슴...

솔직히 구찬성이 남자주인공 진영에서 가장 손해본 케이스가 아닐까 생각합니다.
고청명은 그나마 오해를 풀고 천국으로 떠났으며 연우는 환생해서 전생에 원수였지만 현생에선 송화와 헤피엔딩을 맞이했죠.
결국은 마고신은 구찬성을 쓰고 버리는 카드로 보여지는 결말이었습니다. 구찬성의 인격상 장만월의 그림자와 귀신을 보는
귀안으로써 이후 제대로 된 생활은 할 수 없었을테니까요. 만월, 찬성, 청명, 연우 4인중 구찬성이 가장 불쌍하네요.
그래도 97번째 지배인에게 미리 장만월이가 부탁한게 어디에요.
찬성이 스스로 선택한면도 있지만 ㅠ
찬성이는 처음부터 끝까지 넘 희생적인 남주인듯
물론 그렇게까지 만월을 위한게 인상적이고 슬픈거지만ㅠ

@@user-qh5cu7ys3j 장만월이 죽었다는 설정은 없었지만 달의 객잔이라는것이 죽은 사람에게안 보인다는 설정이었으니 장만월은 이미 죽어서 달의객잔을 찾아 헤매었을수도 있습니다.그리고 살생을 했다고는 하지만 누구처럼 사람을 죽여 그 사람의 무언가를 보며 즐거워하지 앓고, 유품들을 한데 모아 둔것을 달의 객잔을 찾을 때까지 힘들게 가지고 다닐정도면 죄는 늬우치고 있었다고 생각 됩니다.그래서 마고신에게 소멸되지 않고 그동안의 살생의 벌로 아주 긴 시간의 벌을 받은거 아닐까요?
만월도 만월이지만 직원도 떠나고 델루나가 텅텅비어서 홀로 덩그러니 남은 감정이 어땠을지 상상도 안감 ㅠ

I read an enterview with hong sisters and they said that they even unknown about the last scene with kim soo hyun, they said that they were impresive by this scene, actually was an idea from the director, I was thinking about the same as you, I love so much to kim but it was very unnecessary, they could imply this scene in other form, but it was so refreshing that I could seen this drama, HDL was very amazing since the dialogues, performance from the actors and cinematography (the photography is so amazing) was very very beautiful, and also love how the story was developed, I really enjoy the histories like this.

2달동안 재밌는 드라마를 봐서 너무 좋았고 어퍼컷님의 리뷰를 보면서 이야기 나눌 수 있어서 좋았습니다.
짧게 드라마 총평을 해보자면
장점: 영상미(색감)이 좋다 , 매력적인 캐릭터간의 케미가 좋다, 달의객잔이라는 참신한 설정
단점: 지나친 떡밥 투척과 떡밥 미회수,
결말부에 이르러 중요 이야기를 급하게 마무리 한 느낌 ----> 이야기 구성이 아주 촘촘하지는 못했다
After I watched the last episode I really thought that, It's just Ku ChanSeong's imagination not a reality. Because Jang Manwol didnt reincarnated already....

You really did a good job in summing everything up, it was a beautiful bittersweet ending that is fitted for the drama. But you were definitely correct in terms of kim soo hyun appearing at the end. As I’ve watch Hotel De Luna from beginning to end, I wish that the hype would be for the characters of the drama especially the Unconditional Love of both Man Weol and Chan Seong since it was so beautifully portrayed by both actors. And how most character in the drama was able to find peace and moved on, To the after life. They should be receiving the hype for their Hard work, This is just my thought as a Fan of this Drama. And dont get me wrong I’m also a fan of kim soo hyun since dream high. But Yeo Jin Goo is extremely gifted in delivering all the emotion of Chan Seong his undying Love for her made him choose to let her go instead of tying her with him, for her to finally find peace after 1300 years of Resentment, sadness and loneliness. Lee Jieun (IU) for her stelar portrayal of Jang Man Weol. Kudos to all who made Hotel De Luna, this Drama will stay in my heart for a long time. 🤧😭🌹

You said it all about what i have been thinking about the ending...I'm so glad you talk about the 'existence & time' book because I really want to know more about the book because I feel like the explanation about the ending is related to the book,even tho it's quite hard for me to understand lol but I kinda get it. I personally like the ending, and yeah except kim soohyun's epilogue...you're right,it's cool & all but it's like forcing us to erase the sadness we felt for ManChan & Hotel Del Luna trio staffs. The writers or PD are like trying to scout Kim Soohyun for their next drama,hence that extravagant epilogue for him. It did give off feeling like they didn't love their characters to the core. Hi, this is the second "Hotel De Luna" ending review I have seen, a hong kong guy reviewer on youtube said because the God put the blue flower in the male main characters chest, she kept all her memories, and could come back to him in real life. So the last scene isn't a dream sequence, but reality. Also, the other 3 characters being there too are hard to explain since they are supposed to reincarnate. I appreciate your video and explaining the concept in that book. It's the same book his mom try to keep in the library. I watch a lot of K-dramas, looking forward to more reviews from you. You didn't mention that this drama is getting some flack in China, because some of the plat are copied. I'm a huge fan and loved this drama. Although the ending seems weak. I was hoping for a spectacular exit of time travel or something, instead of this endless weeping and controlled tears bullshit.

이건 개인적 의견이 담긴 Fiction이긴 한데 좀 재밌어서 들고 와봄
마지막이 구찬성의 상상이든 훗날의 생이든 이들 둘이 다시 만날 수 밖에 없는 이유
- 만월당으로 갈 때 : 오른쪽 (반시계 방향)으로 돔.
- 같이 겨울을 볼 때 : 왼쪽 (시계 방향)으로 돔.
과거를 갈 때는 반시계 방향으로 갔는데 굳이 겨울을 보기 위해 시계 방향으로 도는 이유는?
바로 시계 방향으로 돌기 -> 미래를 향해 가기임을 암시함.
따라서 둘이 같이 겨울을 보는 장면은 미래의 어느 시간에서 끌어온 것이기 때문에
미래의 장만월과 구찬성은 서로 만날 수 밖에 없다는 것!
과거의 만월당으로 갈 때 마고신이 방향을 강조한 것도 여기에 있다고 생각함.
시계가 시간을 의미하기도 하고

man, this drama, straight up cut me in about seventy eight different pieces with the last episode alone.
edit: "it's time to finish off, I was so happy to watch hotel del luna with you, I'll be back with a new, good drama." to me this accurately describes how the drama ended too. which is why I am not mad about the last cameo. it showed us that although Hotel del luna is no more, the guest house of the moon still exists. which I feel like is the whole point. rather than it being a disservice to the characters of Man Wol and Chun Seong, it gives us the understanding that they are now a part of history, one where Man Wol suffered a lot, and Chan Seong showed great courage. they are also a part of the possible future that they can one day maybe enjoy in another life, one where they are together. it's like passing the baton on, and although it means the head of hotel blue moon will again live a few thousand years in resentment, it gives up hope that one day his resentment will also find its end like Man Wol's. and like Man Wol's we would also find closure in the resentments we have. maybe through love. maybe through forgiveness.

Was feeling cut up just like you but reading your thoughts (and others here) gave me a sort of peace of mind.
It did feel like there would be a possible future where they can be happy together without the harsh memories of this life. Like the one with Ma ri and Yeu On. But the same would have been possible in this one since she had lost the painful memories while on the bridge before coming back. Her finding closure through love was great too - just maybe that ending where she said that she had the chance to stay and now wanted to stay - that will linger on in my mind.

솔직히 멈춰있는 시간이 다시 흘러 찬성이와 같은 시간을 함께 보내는 엔딩 기대했습니다. ㅜㅜ 혹시 떠나면 호랭이 옷 입고 울고 웃으며 떠나 보내는 장면도 기대했구요. 마지막화가 여태껏 봐온 15화가 잊어질 만큼 참담하고 슬퍼서 OST만 들어도 마음이 아픕니다ㅜㅜ

It was a happy ending for me. It was the perfect ending. I’d like to perceive the end as the next life of Chansung and Manwol, they all still lived together even in the next life including Mr. Kim, Hyunjoong, and Ms. Choi. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ending than that, leaving the story’s perception up to us.
Exactly. I for one took it empathizing to chansung thinking that it would be years again until he sees manwol. Manwols goodbye was expected but I as much as possible tried to deny that it would end like this. I was hoping that theyd skip really like what the Goblin did in another series. God, IU is so pretty that i cant see her cry that much that it pains me so much when they said their good byes.
This ending better thousand times than 'moon lovers' but little bit sad too
Finally they meet in their next life.Along with other members of hotel del lina living their lives separately but happily.man wol and chan sung finally met again in their next life as they promised to each other.someone said how can they all together in their next life? My answer is why not. Lee ma ri and yeon woo were also appeared in same lifetime then why not. Also Gods are involved in their tife too (eg MAGO). Ofcourse they forgot their past life of hotel del luna but they are living happily with love in their present.
They will always be together because they lives are connected from the beggining. That's why all throughout the series its about living. Letting go and living again becoming better people each time 😊

이 드라마가 레전드인 이유가 뭐냐면 레전드였던 부분이 정말 많아서 레전드였음 코디, ost는 말할것도 없고 출연진, 그리고 심지어 비하인드까지 그냥 "고퀄리티" 드라마였음요
I like this video for me since I have a really good imagination and I don't like sad endings I thought of it as that everyone after they suffered a lot the had the chance to live happily in their next life and since ku chan seong & jang man wol are destined to be together so they met even in their next life
For the second season as long as I love kim soo hyun and this drama I don't think it would be a good idea to have a second season first what's gonna be the difference between the 2 seasons the story is always the same the deities have a certain criteria for the moon hotel owner so they must have the same past well over all in my opinion I still think the best thing is to leave this drama as a one season the last part is just the continuation of the story cz man wal had to leave for the next owner to come and they just showed it
저는 개인적으로 구찬성이 델루나의 주인이 되고 시간이 흘러서 장만월은 다시 환생해 델루나에 지배인이 되어 다시 만났으면 좋겠다는 생각이 들었습니다.........

Up until now, I'm still wondering how Ku Chan Seong ended after Hotel Del Luna disappeared. I remembered Ma Go saying something to Chan Seong with the words like "Should I cut ties to the person who broke your heart?". I wonder if Chan Seong ended up with some other girl after Man Weol left. I think the ending was uh okay, but it could be better.

I think it's a happy ending, because it gives out a possiblity of a happy ending in the future for everyone. One of the biggest lessons this drama teaches is that 'if one wants to let go of a dark past, then they must let go of all the happy memories that comes with the past aswell. Jang Man Wol's past was filled with pain, so if she wants to be happy she has to let go of that hatred and pain and then pass on, but in order to do so she also has to let go of Gu Chan Seong, if she stayed she would always remember about the people who hurt her or were taken from her, which will be agonizing, it will also be hard because she will witness everyone's reincarnation where they are all different people in a different time with no memories of their past, while she over here remembers everything, which makes her hate them or love them, which makes her feel horrible because she is literally hating someone innocent because they don't remember anything. And we all know if she wanted to stay then she would have to drink that moon brewed drink, but then she won't be able to leave, while Gu Chan Seong would die of old age, thus leaving her alone. But if she passes away now then later much later she and Gu Chan Seong can reincarnate and love again. And there is a high chance of them falling in love again because when he and she met in the past, just a little selfless care was all that took to create such a connection between them, so imagine how much higher the chances of them meeting and falling in love again are when he cared and LOVED her in this present time.

크 어느 영화의 리뷰보다 훨씬 고퀄리티네요 처음 부터 안본게 후회될 정도입니다. 지금이라도 리뷰 다 찾아보겠습니다. 저랑 드라마를 동감하면서 재미있게 본 사람이 주변에는 많이없어서 이런 이야기를 나누는게 힘들었는데 , 여기 영상에서 제가 생각했더게 100프로 공감되서 너무 행복함을 느낌니다. 이드라마는 제 인생에서 끝까지 잊혀지지않을 명작이며 ost 또한 너무나 잘 편성되서 감동이 2~3배는 되는거 같네요 . 각설하고 제가 뒤늦게 델루나를 완주했지만 이영상을 늦게라도 보게되어 너무 좋았습니다. 앞으로 채널이 항상 건승하기를 기원하겠습니다.
ps) 솔직히 아이유의 그 특유의 눈물 맺힌 연기가 너무나도 드라마 스토리와 잘 어울려서 너무 좋았습니다.. ㅋ 그리고 머리속에서 지워지지 않는 장면은 김선비님이 가고 나서 편지와 티얼스를 마시고 맛업다고 하면서 서럽게 우는 장면이 너무나 슬퍼서 펑펑 울어버렸습니다. 하하 저만 그런거 아니겠죠?ㅎ
철학적인 내용과 드라마 장면장면마다 쓰인 예술적인구도가 정말 좋았던 드라마였습니다. 몇몇 장면들은 좋은 그림을 보는 듯한 느낌이었어요. 그리고 아이유를 가장 아름답게 연출해낸 드라마였던건 틀림 없는것 같아요. 다만 설정과 인과관계가 치밀하진 않아서 인물들이 하는 선택들이 이해가 가지 않는 경우도 많았고, 호텔직원 삼인방의 생전 이야기들이 그렇게 임팩트 있는 이야기들은 아녔어요. 호텔에 찾아온 손님들 사연들과 크게 다르지 않았던것 같아요. 요런 부분들 아쉬웠지만 방학기간동안 주말밤에 보기 좋았던 드라마였습니다.

yep, and honestly, the ending doesnt make sense... I mean... Man Wol suppost to be alive, at the begining, they said her time stopped, she is not like the others. It suppost to be like the time just begin, but I dont know why they change it drastically and she would go to heaven... It doesnt make sense O_o

Thank you for your review. I felt that Jang Man-Wol couldn’t live out the rest of her life with Koo Chan-Sung because the overriding theme and tone of HDL was one of longing and unrequited love. So it was a bitter-sweet ending in which Koo Chan-Sung imagines them together again in another lifetime. The teaser/trailer ending with Kim Soo-Hyun and Hotel Blue Moon was crass, abrupt, and unwelcome as I was quietly reminiscing along with Koo Chan-Sung about all the relationships I had with the characters. Whether or not there’s a second season, that was the weakest part of the whole drama.

i think we as viewers were somewhat prepared for Man-wol to leave, even if some of us hoped that they could be together for longer in this lifetime, because Chan-sung was chosen by Mago as the one to send her off into the afterlife, and it was mentioned quite a few times throughout the drama.
therefore, even though the ending is not as obviously happy-happy as other dramas may be, we could still maintain the hope and belief that their connection will last for lifetimes to come in many different but beautiful forms.
the last episode is also usually a time in the drama granted for us to lovingly remember Man-wol, Chan-sung, their relationship, along with the other great characters we'd come to understand, cheer for and appreciate. so seeing a confusing teaser with a whole new face and a situation totally unexplained, felt very jarring, inappropriate and abrupt indeed. it was almost akin to going to a funeral for a loved one and having someone tell you "ok, this person is gone, nothing else to see here, time for you to move on now". rude.
this is just me as a viewer, but i need some time before jumping into another drama or storyline, and i usually alternate between emotional shows and comedy, so as to preserve and respect my feelings for these characters, and to give myself a break. seeing who became the new hotel owner was unnecessary, especially as there was no connection or allusion to his legendary predecessor, or explanation as to his relevance in relation the characters who had just left us.
by the way, recent Google searches say that there isn't a season 2. so really, the writers tarnished the ending, and for no good reason other than to provide a cool cameo. other than that, Hotel Del Luna was one of my favourites.
Well said LorenzoNW. It was interesting that Chan-Sung was the person to tell her about the Moon Inn and therefore fittingly he be the one to see her off. That connection being the basis behind any future thought of them finding their way back to each other in another lifetime.
They were both offered choices to be together whether now or in the past - BUT both chose no seeing as the long term prospect only benefitted one of them.
Every character choosing the path for themselves was bittersweet.
I think the theme of the drama revolves more on the concept of "free will and choices".Choosing to forgive or to hold grudges and resenment. Choosing to let go but at the same time holding on (by not drinking the medicine from Mago and holding on to the beautiful memories of Hotel del Luna) and choosing to trust that you will meet again the person you love.
But I agree, they should not have knitted the part of Kim Soo Hyun at the end.

I guess people are so upset when the ending is not what they expect lol. Both Man Wol and Chan Sung know they cannot live together in present (watch the end of E5, Man Wol said "i will be your last guest"). What they didn't know is how hard it will be for each other to let go when this eventually happens. Man Wol clearly realises this, she said "I am sorry that I made it impossible for you to keep me from leaving" in their final goodbye. So yes it is not as happy as we expect but forcing them to be together will cause the whole drama to lose its essence
