    I think the primary bedroom was so big they could have turned the closets into walk in closets. It definitely felt like too much open leftover wasted space. And who doesn’t love more closet space? Overall though, nice flip!

    That is one of you best flips! Extending the bathroom is the best decision, because its a huge selling point. One thing I'd do would be creating nice walk-in closet instead of two separate regular ones in master bedroom as its huge and there's def enough space for it :D

    This house needed some landscaping in the front. Also extending the counter out towards dining room was a great idea...however..it should have extended out more so there was leg room. Master suite could have been staged with a seating area as well.

On the front of the house I think it would have looked way better to paint the horizontal wooden part in the same white so it blends in. Also as someone else mentioned I was thinking it would have been great to divide the bedroom up further to create an office, although I'm not sure if that would have worked out to more profit, and also whether it was feasable to do in the space.

    2 tones in the kitchens are no more trendy in Europe for more than 6 to 7 years now....when I visit kitchens halls it's all about materials, wood, steel, apoxy and the colours are more in the wood tones.....mixing materials does give a different modern touches too but what is really the trend here is to blend the kitchen in ur house, no upper cabinets, no obvious big sink, everything is concealed so the kitchen looks more like ur living room area, it disappear completely but they r also the most expensive ones since they all work electronically.

    In Texas, is vinyl flooring considered an "upgrade" from tile or carpet? Because in Illinois, it's considered tacky and cheap. You'd only use it in rental properties. If I were looking for a new house, vinyl flooring would be an automatic "NOPE!" It just screams "Flipper" to me. It's depressing and sad.

      From what I've observed, houses in northern states value carpet because it helps keep the house warm. They are in Texas where it gets hot. Many people in more hot climates hate carpet. As for tile it really depends on the type of tile. The ones in the video were definitely dated. Wood flood is really popular right now but very few people want real wood since it's so hard to take care of. With these vinyl floors you can get the look you want and it will be very durable and water proof.

      Vinyl is not considered tacky in a lot of areas. It goes into most of the new homes I’ve toured and it’s surprisingly really durable. We prefer it to carpet for the ease of cleaning and allergies. In Texas a lot of homes deal with foundation shifting which can be bad for tile obviously. We will be doing vinyl when we replace our cracked tile 🤪😵‍💫😂 flooring.

    In Canada's toronto's suburbs it costs $50000 just to build basement and about $30000-40000 to renovate kitchen on main floor for comparison..

    • @happydays1336
      @happydays1336 Před rokem

      It's taken us around $45K just to do some new upstairs flooring, light fixtures, paint inside and out, new countertops, sinks, backsplash and fireplace hearth and surround tile in our 2500 sq. ft. house. We didn't move walls or anything major--it was all cosmetic. It'll probably take another $30K to do a very basic basement finish. (The house was quite run down and dirty when we bought it so it needed a lot of work.)
      We spent around $40K to upgrade my son's 870 sq. ft. house ten years ago that was built in 1886 (he's disabled and we bought him the house and my husband and I are very blessed to be able to do so--especially because we were as poor as church mice during the first 15 years of marriage).

    It's hard not seeing it in person, but I don't think the master bedroom has to be so huge. If part of it had been used for a bigger kitchen and pantry that would have been better for resale. I don't know where the bearing walls are or what's on the other side of the bedroom so I'm just speculating. The dinky closets are bad. There should have been a huge walk-in closet off of the bathroom.
    The kitchen peninsula without an overhang is strange. If I were looking at the house it'd be a huge turn off. The stools are useless there because you'd have to sit sideways to eat at the counter. An overhang would have greatly increased the kitchen prep area.
    There's a a chip on the side of the bathroom vanity that's obvious in the video. That should be repaired before the house goes on the market. It's little things like this that can make a big difference to potential buyers. If something like this is ignored, what else has been ignored?
    As other commenters have mentioned, the flippers seem to only be paying for the flip and have had almost no input in it at all. They probably haven't learned a whole lot from the experience as a result.
    All of this said, I enjoy this channel's videos.

    I am just confused, is it their flip, or yours?
    It's sounds like they just came with the money, and made some minor adjustments, while you two actually decided everything.
    I would be grateful for the money it brought, but I wouldn't feel like it was my flip, as I didn't design it, didn't choose the colors, didn't have much to say.
    Like with that huge bedroom, I would have made the bathroom even larger, with a freestanding tub, or something, to make the bathroom match the luxurious size of the bedroom. It still felt a little cramp, and since you did do that extension anyway. Why not?
    And what's with the whole two hand faucets? Richer people don't like the one hand adjustment?
    As a European, that doesn't make any sense, we had that when I grew up, it's fiddely. When we had the money for it, we would upgrade to the one hand adjustment.
    US is so weird in many ways, no mudroom, or entryway for your clothes, just walk with your dirty shoes right inside, drag that dust and whatever (dogpoo) you might have been walking on, deep into the house.
    It's so high finish, but at the same time, so old time style, where you didn't have enough space for a designated "storage" room.
    (seeing memories of those wooden cabins, with the coat and boots right inside by the door) 😆

    • @happydays1336
      @happydays1336 Před rokem

      Lot of homes in the U.S. have mudrooms--especially in new homes. I think a lot of the older homes featured in these videos don't have them.

    Is there a reason on every reveal your kitchens never have a fridge? Is this the one appliance that in Texas is usually left up to the buyer?

      I think people bring their fridges when moving..
      In Europe, we usually bring everything with us, unless it's sold like this with something that are better.

      Unless it's a model home, new houses rarely have fridges. Even older ones usually don't them because the sellers take them when they move out. Anything built in like ovens and dishwashers are left.
      I left our fridge in the house we just sold because the people who sold us the house we're in now left their fridge. Refrigerators are a pain to move, but expensive so that's why most people take them. Ditto washers and dryers.

    I’m located in Dallas TX and I’ve done 4 flips but want to get into a multiplex (4-8) at least, buy and hold though. I have the funds but need a good deal. If anybody has any deals that fit this criteria, please let me know. Wholesaler 😬

    I don't like windows without curtains. There is no warmth and comfort. The house is more like an office.
