Do you disagree with my rankings? What do you think is the worst / MOST annoying enemy in Tears of the kingdom?
Queen gibdo most annoying. Maybe mini frox is more annoying, but they die in one hit. Queen gibdo is a long as heck boss where you have to utilize a clunky ability just to get the chance to damage it. Even then, you have to hit it again and avoid the way-too-much-damage-dealing sandstorms that can ALSO blow your sage away, whos ability is the only way you can get Q. Gibdo in the complete knockdown state. Just so annoying.
@@kingofsnacks8566I agree and Colgera is really the best !
@@kingofsnacks8566 queen gibdo is weak, doesn't deal a lot of damage and the attack patterns are repetitive and easy, the gimmik is to use the mirror shield on queen gibdo but you dont even have to do that
i didn't die to this boss
@kingofsnacks8566 you can use elemental arrows instead of riju (and bombs for the hives), shield the gusts, and kill the queen in 2 cycles
Queen gibdo isn't that bad tbh
Bokoblins are S tier. These guys are the most common enemies in the game for a reason. Nintendo put a lot of time and effort into designing them. They sleep, they mine, they have numerous attacks, they can wield a variety of weapons, and they attack in complicated formations. It’s fun spying on them to watch them live their life. It’s fun fighting them.
This is an underrated comment I can agree with. The Bokoblins, Lizalfos, and Moblins have so much character to them that gives the overworld color. They also avoid atracks so they are not completely basic idiots as enemies. They are well-designed as basic enemies that complete the Hyrule ecosystem.
This. Best enemies. Adore them.
I adore them too❤ So i totally agree with your comment. I love seen them living their lives from afar, they are quite cute 🙂
They deserve to rule Hyrule.
They're fun to fight, but easy to kill. I think if he'd put them in S tier, I would have turned the video off and decided he was not very smart lol they are not an S tier fight (which is what he was basing this on)
It hurt my soul seeing the lynel parts being used as arrows.
Same hahaha
After your first Silve Lynel it's just so easy to get them that I feel like I might start using them as arrows
@NathanRibeirodeFrancaYegrosFer when it comes to lynels, they are easy to learn, but if they DO hit you, you will be sent flying.
@@plaidhatter1674 I wasn't really comfortable with the melting strat because of the evil spirit set's defense, so I mostly just use the soldier set to do it and attack food, bcs the lynels in the depths would only do 1 heart and the surface ones would do one too if I remember correctly (I fight much more in the floating coliseum and the depths in general), but yeah with early-mid game armor upgrades they hit REALLY hard
@@NathanRibeirodeFrancaYegrosFer upgraded armor makes enemies a joke. I never upgrade armor past lv 2, as the challenge is fun.
Fun fact I learned about Gibdo's recently: Instead of wasting arrows and fusing them with Fire, Ice, or Electric fruits you can use/throw a dazzle fruit on the ground near them to make them vulnerable.
You can also use chuchu jelly in any form, because water technically counts as elemental damage.
Dazzle fruit my beloved
Splash Fruits all day
That is the first thing i tried to them
@@xaviercobogonzalez9370same xD
I like keese as an Enemy now, because every time kill one i get a fast arrow and a heat seeking arrow for free.
I think you're a bit confused about the soldier and captain constructs. Both constructs you had pictures of were soldier constructs; specifially tier 1 and tier 4. The big tall dudes with multiple eyes that can fuse are captain constructs. They look completely different and also come in in 4 tiers.
yeah
Yeah that's my bad
Ya and they're significantly more dangerous too.
@@therealjohnmarstonholy shit its the demon king
The battle Talus where the ultimate WTF moment in the game for me. I absoluteley loved them. I just hoped we could see that idea with more monsters, like say, a Molduga pulling a sand sledge with monsters or a Gleeok with some enemy riding on it
Gleeok & Gleeok Tamer (lizalfos)
Sand Scourge Molduga (battle talus-esque fight, controlled by moblin)
Armored Hinox & Hinox Rider (boss boko on the hinox)
Hydra Like (cave boss encounter, with horriblins)
King Chuchu (big ol chuchu that splits apart when hit)
Aerokuda Swarm & Leader Aerokuda (encountered when exploring sky islands)
@@notageologist3022
Elder Evermean (Evermean but stronger, with more attacks, thicker and with a weak-spot.)
Bokoblins Riders & Boss Bokoblin riding a lynel
it is also worth noting that Ganondorf and Phantom Ganon both even have Elemental Resistence, meaning you cannot burn them, freeze them and also not electricute him, which is suprising Because he fell to his own Electricity Balls in the Previous Zelda Games, and here he is immune
Makes sense that only Ganondorf magic would be strong enough to stop him.
There’s a lore reason for this. The triforce of power gives him immunity to everything but holy power, while simultaneously supercharging his attacks with the same. He isn’t stunned by random electricity, but holy electricity.
I'm sure someone said it already, but the thunder gleeok phase two he sends down lightning strikes which leave a short window for you to take an air current upwards. The result is the player needing to transition from updraft to updraft so they can keep climbing otherwise the updraft will disappear too soon. I find it very fun!
smiting a gleeok in phase 2 depends on the element. Fire: get the hell out of the arena then use the updraft byproduct to gain height. Ice: recall a falling ice spike once you find a way atop it. Thunder: dodge the lightning and navigate up the weak updrafts they briefly leave behind. Thunder is the hardest mechanically, fire is the most difficult to avoid damage, and ice is the least telegraphed, whilst the surface is just slippery enough to cause issues. Where the climb gets really difficult is a king fight with multiple heads remaining. Trying to rewind an ice spike leaves you prone to lightning strikes (without the thunder helm or lvl 2 complete rubber set). Getting out of the arena for fire limits your options and can disengage the AI. Thunder updrafts put you in the direct line of fire of falling ice spikes despite the ability to see the telegraphing for once, only made worse by the need to use multiple updrafts. At max hearts/stamina (with the minus 2 in hearts for the sake of temps), a bad ascension against a king gleeok without a thunder helm can decimate me in a mere 3-4 hits, and yet a certain armor set requires fighting them in bulk to guarantee the needed material. Elemental eyeballs and a good stockpile of arrows become your best friends, and seeing how both are an issue of stock, pray you dont run out of them in the middle of the fight, as other options are limited. Rocket shield? Cannons? Beam emitters? The durability of all of them is not enough to make up for a low stockpile of arrows, bows, and elemental eyes.
I got so much pain from watching those good monster parts being used on arrows
Ikr
It does feel like a waste to use Lynel horns on arrows 😂 but just dupe them afterwards 😊
@@greencreeper03 my 60 silver lynel saber horns were 100% legit and totally not duped
to be fair, I go to the lynel colosseum pretty regularly because it's a fun challenge and like to do it with different weapons and armor
@@darkhero2 I do it for the crystalized charges ngl
I wish the Captain Constructs were more complex fights, similar to the Guardians found in combat shrines from BoTW.
The only issue with Gleoks is that the second phase is basically over because of fall damage.
True. Although it would be more frustrating to fight, I think Gleeoks should've been completely immune to fall damage
@@sparklymopnot immune but definitely drastically reduced. Reason I say not immune is because I managed to push one using Zonau devices away from the island and dropped it all the way to the surface and it was hilarious
Honestly, I think its sick that knocking them out of the sky kills them. I get why it would feel like its skipping the fight, but to me it just looks so cinematic and makes me feel like a boss.
I’m… pretty sure that the gleeok dying to fall damage was literally exactly what the developers wanted. The “second phase” only starts when it reaches 25%ish health
@@MercuryA2000 It's cool and all, but after some time in the game (mid/late game) i think they could be more challenging with reduced fall damage (king gleok is quite nice though).
I’m hoping that Darknuts make their return in DLC. The most fun combat encounters are the Lynels, bc they test all of your combat abilities. I’m hoping that ToTK’s Darknuts are like the Lynels. Maybe their Depths variant could be Stalfos, and they have four arms similar to Skyward Sword.
I love this idea! In a game as strategy based as ToTK, it would be very fun see how Darknuts would work
I find lynels boring damage sponges that over telegraph their attacks and eat your inventory. Feel like phantom ganon is much better since he fakes you out and doesn’t have a billion hp
@@firenze6478 eat your inventory? I use a 32x5 bow and come in from above. 3 shots in the head in bullet time, jump on the back, 6 shots from a "damaged" royal guard claymore 74 attack + 110 SIlver Lynel Saber Horn and then one more back of the head bullet time arrow when bucked off...Easy peasy, 4 arrows used but get 30-50 arrows dropped so no inventory used at all.
@@HungryWardenI think they should have two phases like in Windwaker and Twilight Princess. Since they have armor for the first phase, maybe you can’t headshot them with a bow. For the second phase, they get faster melee attacks and get a bow, but now you can headshot them.
@@firenze6478 maybe because you're bad 🗿
The way he fought that Molduga was heart renching for me.
20:35
Gloom hands are legitimately scary for the uninitiated. The first time I fought them I screamed teleported away with one heart left , then I came back loaded up, barely killed it just to have phantom ganon
Lynels are essentially a skill test when you get used to the game
know your parry and dodges, and you can beat it quite simply
And I always find a cool way to get in the air (constructing walls and a ceiling, etc) Nintendo did a great job with totk.
I don’t really dodge or parry Lynels, just headshot them to stun then mount for that sweet sweet hammer sound
28:54 the creepy thing about gloom hands is that it looks like they are too slow for themselves, as if they want to just tear you into bits faster than they are able to
I love rock octorocs. I don't even consider them enemies because how helpful they are. Repairing and upgrading weapons is a huge deal. I even mark every rock octorock i meet on the map to visit them after every bloodmoon to repair my most valuable weapons, shields and bows. They also drop eyes for homing arrows similar to keese eyes. Show some love to the rock octorocs
i was surprised when he ranked them D tier. They are helpful in this game.
@@lalcimoyeah
If you put a D and a : together, you get how I felt when he ranked them that low; D:
They're amazing .... they're just not an S tier fight.
@@lalcimoyea you would of thought they be at least B tier under rated enime right there
With the gibdos, did anyone else immediately think to try fire?? Cause as soon as I saw it and saw it took like no damage, I was like “it’s in the desert and is very mummy like, maybe they’ll take more damage from fire” and never had any trouble from them after the first like 5 attacks lol
First time i met a gibdo i had fused an ice lizalfos horn to the master sword, so i didnt realize that they were weak to elements before later. First i thought that they was weak to sharp swords and claymores, and not spears since they almost took no damage when i stabbed them with my black boko spear😅
When i first saw one I was using a fire weapon so i didnt realize they were immune to normal attacks until riju pointed it out lol
You don't need bombs or demolisher weapon against rock like like, you can just rewind the last rock they shoot and it will destroy their rock armour and live then vulnerable. Also wizardrobes can me oneshotted with their opposite element. Fire with get oneshotted by ice and vice versa, electric ones must be smacked down though
The Rock Like Likes are actually the easiest, provided you can find a good position. I found using the Rewind ability on the 3rd stone they spit out will hit them and let you save your bombs.
Yunubo exists for a reason. To be an alternative to bombs
@@drluigi8563me who did his quest last:
i loved the hell out of the colgera and ganondorf + demon dragon fights. those fights got me in my feels and the ganondorf fight pretty much gave me everything i wanted in a final boss
Gloom Hands are one of the scariest Nintendo characters I've faced, right next to the piano from SM64.
You can’t still be afraid of that piano. It made laugh when I saw the piano.
Younobo's charge attack can also deal damage to the evermeans
2:08 you don't need a hammer or bomb, recall works best in my opinion - just use it on the rocks it throws at you
11:40 that's no a Captain Construct, that's a soldier construct 4
Captain constructs like the construct equivalent to Boss Bokoblins
Captain constructs doesn't command Soldier constructs the same way Boss bokos does with Bokos, they are more like Moblins : taller, stronger, different moveset and sometimes found paired with other Captains or alone.
A moblin parried me once with a knights shield, I just wanted everyone to know that…
😂👍 this game is crazy.
Muckdorok does change in the second phase
I’ve only seen the shark do the wave attack in the first phase, but it does the wave, beam, and mortar attack in the second
additionally it shoots muck everywhere in the arena, which it swims through to escape when you’ve gotten rid of the shark
Actually first phase has all attacks except the mortar
By the time I had encountered tbe Gibdos I was still VERY early into the game, but I HAD already mastered elemental weapons as I was intentionally hunting down Lizazfalos for their horns at that point. Not only was the elemental damage already in my arsenel, but you bet I was using it on as much as possible as I had already discovered how it was powerful against everything. Needless to say the ice sword that I had already needed to traverse the desert(I had gotten lost looking for Purah) was more than a match for those things, and I quickly realized my shock and flame technique was super-effective, that when I finally stumbled into Gerudo town it was news to me that these things were even threatening!
You can break rock like likes without a blunt weapon or bomb
If you use recall on the stones they shoot, they'll fly back at them and break their armor
Ganon had me crying for a day straight bruh
Funny story, i was exploring the gerudo desert for the first time and i saw a gibdo in the sandstorm and i actually thought it was a traveler
lol
thats one weird looking traveler
Posing a challenge for the octoroc, while an underwhelming enemy and quite useless I think it belongs in B or low A tier simply for the fact it repairs weapons in a game where breaking weapons is a core mechanic. This may be a little lower to experienced players who understand weapon farming off of depths spirits.
That's quite understandable. I personally didn't really interact with them until I had champions weapons but I can see them being very valuable to keep some stronger weapons early
I loved the Tito boss skydiving into it was so fun it’s one of the few bosses I fight in the depths just for fun
I went with diving into Colgera from the start and never even thought about using arrows. I wonder which method was more common for first-time players
I only used arrows, simple because I didn't know you could dive through those ice plates without taking damage. Yeah, I'm a very careful player. Also, there were so many arrows in the Wind Temple that I thought this was the implied, but idk
Same lol
It was so funny looking through the whole list and seeing how you misspelled almost all of them
Did he call Like Likes a newer enemy? They're from the very first game and have consistently been enemies for a dozen of the games in the series.
He did the same with Gleeok.
Yes, you should rank weapons :)
Also maybe rank the zonai devices and look if there are hidden uses/ tricks that might be interesting
great video!
I am still wondering what exactly the DPS of beam emitters is, for example. How much damage do they do compared to weapons and are they still usefull in the late game? (if you have multiple of them)
Another interesting topic is all the machine parts that can only be found in shrines and what they could be useful for.
Long list found on reddit:
Most shrines: Stone or metal spheres. Not all of them can be fused to shields or weapons, but most can be replicated with the apple trick.
Nachoyah: Wooden rafts
Ukouh: Rectangular stone slabs
Turakamik: Square metal pole
Zanmik: Square metal plates and climbable metal part in a unique shape
Makasura: Unique, easily climbable metal parts and a catapult
Tajikats: Unique looking logs
Mayachin: Stone poles and square metal plates
Jiosin: Weird stone slabs and blocks
Sinakawak: Candles
Igoshon: Water orbs
Runakit: Stone poles and stone slabs, some in unique shapes
Sahirow: Metal cubes
Mayausiy: Unique shaped stone cubes
Kiuyoyou: Ice cubes that only melt with direct heat and stone slabs
Marakuguc: Thick rectangle metal slabs and square metal panels (These have wheels attached)
Kamatukis: Big metal blocks
Jochi-iu: Rectangular metal blocks
Gemimik: Electric motors and fan blades and rectangular metal panels
Mogawak: Rechargeable electric batteries and wooden boards
Tsutsu-um: Square metal panels
Rasitakiwak: Spike panels and rectangular metal panels
Ekochiu: Climbable metal blocks
Utsushok: Large metal blocks and rectangular metal plates
Jonsau: Floaty balls and panels
Susuyai: Stone panels and a really neat shaped stone thing
Sitsum: Rectangular metal panels
Mayamats: Large metal spheres
Ren-iz: Rectangle and square metal panels
That's what I've got so far. I'll update this as I find more.
It should be noted that the batteries DO NOT power anything except other shrine technology. They simply store, conduct, and discharge electricity. This definitely has uses, but it's not going to power your other devices. The turbines also spin SUPER fast, but they can't spin as much weight as a tire, as far as I can tell.
Also, bonus tip related to electricity: When electrified objects get wet, their radius of electricity gets bigger. This includes the lightning emitter and anything metal it's electrifying. Combining a hydrant with an emitter makes it actually kind of good.
@@aldoushuxley5953👆this is a great comment ❤
21:33 - Nah, gleeoks have been in Zelda games for a good while now, they've just shown up only a couple times. Gotta say tho, really loving their revamp in totk!
I like how you give the boss boko some respect because there an amazing monster in my opinion there my favorite monster in Totk
I thought this was a pretty good ranking and liked to hear your thoughts, but I'd just like to note that Ganondorf is NOT able to flurry rush. He can just dodge and slow time, he never does a flurry rush. People say this in a lot of videos but it isn't actually in his moveset
Bro was STRUGGLING on that fire like like lmao
I loved this list and mostly agree with your choices!!
One thing about stone-likes. I never used bombs or blunt weapons with them. Just recall their third rock throw and it'll break their armor.
32:35 You are riding on Zelda the entire time. Giggity.
I always spam keese eyes with a lynel bow for any gleeok fight. It's very fun to shoot them out of the sky and have the impact kill them.
3:03 fun fact: evermeans are yigas who disguised themselves as trees to ambush link.
Other than minibosses and Ganondorf boss bokoblins are my absolute favorite only beaten by Ganondorf and gleeok. Love that you placed them in A tier.
I know this has nothing to do with the video but i am curios, how do you have multiple masters swords?
You said that you have to use bomb arrows or other things like that against the stone likes, but something that’s much easier is to use recall on the boulders they shoot at you
when i fought the thunder gleeok i just used the short timmed wind currents from the lightning strikes
also, for queen gibdos, when you destory the hive, the light only shines in the temple, I tryed fighting her in the depths multiphe times and the light didn't show
for queen gibdos, you can shoot any type of eleamental damage to get rid of the tough skin
I honestly thought it was adorable when I first saw a boss baconlin leading a group of smaller ones it looked like a parent and kids
I personally put the Octorocks in S tier for how easy duping is with them.
10:23 separate them. The construct captains can fuse weapons while normal ones can't
When I first faught the Mega Box Constructs in the sky, I had no idea you could fuse rockets to your shields. It flew up in the air so high in the 2nd Phase. That stumped me. I gave up on it but later on I learned about the rocket shields. I'm loving this amazing game.
You can also use recall on the blocks that it shoots out to lift yourself up to the platform
@@SoupyMittens I always recall the box then bombard them with arrows
i think horriblins are easy A tier, it's the one humanoid enemy that provides something diverse combat-wise, they hang on the ceiling where they can't be flurry rushed and swing at you with a long pole, you need to figure out how to get them down, or run away so they throw a rock and then recall it, basically it forces you to do something different
I love how ganon pulled of a sans on you and started dodging all of your attacks
They should make death traps like a pit fall full of choo choos with multiple elements
Why do I imagine Gru from Despicable Me every time this man talks?
I think I really missed out on the gibdo experience cuz when I got to the desert and encountered one for the first time, I had an electric elemental weapon equipped, so they were immediately easy and until it was explained in Gerudo Town, I didn’t even know it was just because of the elemental effect :/
same
For anyone struggling to beat thunder gleeoks use the thunder helm you are immune to its attacks other than its beam
1:19 I still wish we had the Keese Swarm’s model, though.
When I saw the tree get up I was like WTF A TREE IS AFTER ME LITERALLY EVERYTHING IS AFTER ME *sobbing *
Octoroks aren't annoying until you're actually trying to do something and they decide that, no, you don't get to climb that cliff today.
My first time a fought a gibdo i had a fire weapon equipped so i didn't know that it took elements to do real damage for a bit
I always enjoy shooting a bomb arrow into a swarm of keese :D The resulting fireworks and shower of loot that they drop make them one of my personal favorite enemies.
Sylver Horryblin has just the coolest monter design
Lizal horns alone deserve an S tier, fusing them creates the coolest weapons in the game
Seeing him attach silver lynel horns and white maned lynel horns to arrows to kill flux constructs hurt me deeply
What do you mean there are no fire arrows? There are lots of fire items you can fuse to arrows to make fire arrows. Fire fruit, red chu jellies, rubies, fire keese parts, dinraal parts, fire like stones, flamebreath lizal horns, etc.
I would not have ranked enemies based on how useful their drops are, since thst doesnt change what they are like as enemies. For instance: chu chus and keese are pitifully weak, but their elemental variants can be a nusiance, even ad they die. For that reason, i would have placed them no higher than D. Something like stalkoblin would be below them in F for being non threatening, simple, and more of a bother than anything.
Thats if were grouping enemy families together though, and not individualizing.
stal enemies and keese are nothing but wastes of weapon durability
I didn’t realize I had it on captions and when it came to the yiga foot soldier it said Ikea foot soldier
i think the evenmain should have a large and strong variant or maybe like a bush type. also it would be cool if they could work with hynoxes
One of the dudes in the yiga hideout says that the tree's are just yiga's hiding inside tree's 🤣
I honestly can’t believe yigas are defined as monsters and not people according to compendium
2:05 actually rock like likes are very easy to deal with, all you have to do is recall the rock they spit and it will break their rock shield
Thunder Gleoks use lightning strikes, and when they hit the ground updrafts appear.
I think I can get behind your taking for the most part, but I would personally switch colgera and the queen gibdo. 🙃
Colgera is an S tier boss fight. It easily hyped the overall game if it was your first boss. It is massive, has cool mechanics, outstanding music, and is also on one one of the best dungeons/boss lair. Tulin being there cheering you on was the cherry on top. Though clearly the easiest boss if you knew what to do, it outclasses the other bosses imo.
It was my second last and it was pretty interesting, though i did beat it first try with no damage done to myself
It was too easy to beat.... although I did have fun with it.
Eh it looks cool and diving thru it is nice but I find it to be the most boring boss to fight cuz it goes down so easily and theres really only 2 ways to harm it. I prefer Queen Gohma or Muctorock cuz I can use a drone army in that fight.
Nintendo really heard the complaints about enemy variety/difficulty in botw and said "challenge accepted"
Gloom hands trolled me the first time I saw one. I was tryna fly to a place so I backed up while in ultrahand so I got grabbed and died
I didn’t know you can shoot colgara
I dived the whole time
same he didnt look fragile enough to just shoot, and I assumed since it was an arial battle they would have me using the new diving mechanic
11:12 "and now we have the first boss"
boss bokoblin: am i a joke to you?
You can dive through Colgera? WOT. I used fire and bomb arrows until I ran out and then just shot twice to break the defence
I didnt realize you could shoot him lol
it looks like the chapter names were used with speech to text because of: choo choos, keys, evermain, erokuda, bokublin, boss goblin, lasalfos, horror blends, lionels, stone tellus, food soldier, jigablade master, koga, frogs, stalloc, glioc, morajia, marvels goma, moto rock, colgaret.
food soldier
boss goblin
horror blends
' octorocks aren't annoying '
My years of getting hitt by the water ones while climbing and swimming 'guess I'll die'
I wish they let you do the phantom ganon fight again. The gloom hands are cool but fighting 5 phantom ganons at once is better
Use recall on the like likes boulder to get through its armor
I love keese because they drop the eyes that are perfect for hydra
Did you know that those trees are actualy yiga clan members disguised in trees?
so the moral of the story is: this guy REALLY likes his gleeok horns. (i like them as well honestly so respectable opinion)
Thanks!
Thank *you* so much
The Frox are Dadongo, the swallow move is a dead givaway.
I know how to see what tree is an evermean tree in the depth cause there leafs look like eyes and other trees in depths look different
It is so annoying that in german the demon dragon is called "Schwarzdrache" which translates into black dragon. Demon Dragon sounds way better.
Hey, the Aerocuda is the result of learning from Minecraft. Everyone hates the Phantoms. If Aerocudas were more tanky, they'd instantly become annoying especially with flying builds and traveling from ground to sky
Fighting 6th construct is like playing arms
