I literally did the same. I really wanted to play this song even tho I haven't played the guitar before, and hey, I learned it after two months.
@Unknown User I know the first 10 seconds really well, but I ended up being more interested in other songs, since they show progress much faster. Doing this did increase my finger picking skills tho. I think in the last month I probably learned 3 other full songs (Space oddity, and two dutch songs. The 2 dutchs songs however also contained some finger picking, so I guess those were slightly above intermediate level.)
I guess my advice is (eventho you weren't asking for it) is to just play what you like.

This is like a soft version of unravel, the version I learned from Eddie van meer was hard but satisfying to master and it was pure from the original version, but this is ok and pleasing to the ears
yea. i agree as i compared their version note by note. there are some parts are lacking in this tutorial like the instrumental part but his version is also not bad cuz he made it slower just to cover the intrumental.
You can just play it quick as you progress.

Actually thus is correct. Im guessing he listened to the acoustic version of unravel at the end of S1 (poor kaneki). You can watch the ep and see the song is slower and softer to make it more dramatic

(It took me about two and a half weeks to do so and it wasn’t as terrible as I first thought.
After that part where I said it’s almost impossible for me, a) it isn’t but it’s very difficult and b) I just played without that Clip on the second thingy (idk what it’s called).
But yeah it’s an awesome song and I can only encourage to try it yourself!)

kamaboko gonpachiro that’s very difficult to say. Have you ever played before or would it be your first time? I’m really not great at guitar but I took two years of lessons before. On the other hand the song isn’t THAAAAAAT difficult. There are some points where you have to spread your fingers quite far out in a short amount of time. But I think it could be possible if you put in a lot of time. Try playing the intro, the rest isn’t that different.

Near the end of 2020 and I remember this was the first Tokyo Ghoul fingerstyle I did. 1 and a half year later I’m back watching this and seen how far I’ve gotten with this song. Went through and changed so much stuff. But this video was the root of me playing this song.

Came back after learning sungha jung's version. This version still gives me nostalgia as the first fingerstyle song I ever learned this will always have a special place in my heart.

Day 3 - having problem in stretching my fingers , anyways completed 17:11 (1hour 30min)
Day 9 - satisfied abit since I can manage to stretch my finger. Completed 22:23 (1 hour)
Day 30 - I spend alot of time on other stuffs just got back and completed 26:49 (1 hour)
have to agree with the stretching fingering parts, had a hard time, not easy when you have shorter fingers, but can just make it.

At the moment it isnt that difficult (i have just 2 months playing guitar, buit it makes me ilusion to play this song) i know that its going to get worse but practice makes perfect.
Day 2: I'm going to start again because I had almost finished the intro but there were some parts that I didn't know pretty well. I prefer to start again little by little in order to finish the intro on a good way.

Day 3: Almost all the day spended on finishing the intro, I think that now I'm able to play it without any problem, but I'll keep going. Tomorrow I'll start the next part alone and when I'll able of play it, I will play it with the intro
Day 4: I'm able to play line the first half of the part after the intro. I have spended a lot of time on it so I'm proud. I would like to finish it for tomorrow in order to play the intro and this piece together, but I don't have to rush. 18:12
