    Yeah the fact that they need to go from boxer to boxer to get their likeness is definitely one of the big reasons and also including organization and boxing glove brands

      Yea i would also think it would slow down alot of the process on development.

    Undisputed looks like the next good boxing game coming out but it was very buggy last time I played it

      Hopefully they get fixed soon. Plus I saw it was coming out for consoles too so hopefully it gets traction from that too!

    Fight Night Champion is still played to this day. A new boxing game would be an absolute goldmine.

      @@ginocerda3290 I'm not massively excited. The early access gameplay has to be improved A LOT before release, It's a bit jank.
      The real fighters look great but the ai generated ones are ridiculous. The character creator could be better too.

    There's a small handful of indie games, usually leaning more into the physics side of things that are being worked on.

    1:27 What about arcade fighting games like SF and Tekken etc

    • @Rebootgeorge
      @Rebootgeorge  Před 3 měsíci

      DEFINITELY! some people honestly prefer other types of fighting games. And there are some boxer kind characters in those fighting games!

      @@Rebootgeorge yes most popular example would maybe be like Steve Fox in Tekken

    It's SUPER HARD to make successful game in a sport that hardly ANYONE watches.
    Whenever I say this people get a little miffed because they think I'm downing the sport. But I'm just being honest. Hardly anyone follows boxing anymore. Sure, people will ALWAYS tune in when there's a REALLY BIG fight with at least 1 REALLY BIG name, that's MAYBE 2 or 3 (max) fights a year. There have been several years in boxing without a single significant fight that would interest the casual public. And if a sport can barely maintain casual viewing audience it stands to reason that a game would struggle even more.
    And when you have to jump through a bunch of hoops just to secure the likeness of athletes to make a game about a sport very few people REALLY care about and follow... you can start to understand why major developers and publishers aren't interested in making a game for that sport.

      Yesss!! The sport has just not been popular like it once was.
