Born pink is a masterpiece. They got to shine in their own ways(especially Lisa and jisoo) so happy for them to finally showcase their full potential. The vocals, dance, rap and visual. All of them slayed ❣️ They really upgraded. Indeed this is a new era.

This album is a full package of emotions; from dissing to empowerment, from coming out of broken hearted to ready for new love... Their voice also gettin more mature. Thank God happiest girl was on track 6. That song could make ur eyes moist even tho ur in a happy state of mind.

BORNPINK literally gave us a view of what BLACKPINK can do...they are constantly evolving. I noticed that they are bolder with the lyrics - more mature - i think because the group is more than just a KPOP group now (they don't have to conform to the cutesy-girly kpop music that is expected for a kpop girlgroup which all YG groups have done - that is to be different from the rest)...so Teddy is also more open with the type of music he produced. PLUS this album is a treat for all of us who don't speak korean cos most of the songs are in english. :)

There best album, You nailed it talking about there evolution, "Shut Down" has a dual meaning which some missed, the first is shutting down the haters which most understood, the second and most important is when they are shutting down there past when they close the door on all there old music sets and props and take the elevator up at the end signifying that they are moving on and evolving.

I love the diversity of this album! I agree it's like a completely new chapter for them but it's also still completely BlackPink.
Even the different styles fit together so well: Pink Venom (old school hip hop), Shut Down (fresh hip hop), Ready For Love (entrancing vocal electronic), The Happiest Girl (pop ballad), Typa Girl/Tally (Black side of BlackPink), Yeah Yeah Yeah (Pink side of BlackPink) and Hard To Love (Rosie pop!!)
There is a story. Why they start with pink venom and why they end with ready for love. Its like watching a slightly short film(coz theres only 8 songs). If you think about it,even from their debut song up till now,there is a story. Thats why their company is taking so long for their comebacks. Because of the story. Its like a 6-yr music drama.

Great review :) Up until now Blackpink - Dark and the light. We have only really seen the light. This album though, is very much the dark or the Black side of them. What they say is true though. If a male goes out and gets lots of "conquests" it is oh that is good and good on him. If a female goes and does the same thing then she is considered a S@#T why?? why the difference? I really like the direction Blackpink is moving too. But, my only concern is that they do not forget what made them popular which was the Pink side and not go too hard on the Black side but instead find a happy medium... eg First album was pink, Second album was Black so hopefully third album will be a mixture of Black and Pink. But I am really enjoying seeing Jisoo and Lisa come out and show their singing voices and I hope that continues
This is 100% them telling every other K Pop group we are the top and you can't touch us by trying to be us. The show they can sing and rap, they can go hard and fast or soft and slow. With only 4 members where most groups are 6 or more now. Lisa said it in LaLisa in BlackPink the crown belongs to we.
