I buy all of my molds on Ebay.com. You should Google “turtle mold” or “concrete turtle mold”. Sometimes you have to keep searching every few days to find what you are looking for. A large latex mold will cost a few hundred dollars.

I use ready-mix high strength concrete off the shelf from a local hardware store and mix with water according to instructions.

Can you tell me how to make molds like this one?
I don’t make the molds in these videos, I buy them online. To make a mold you apply many thin layers of liquid latex onto a statue. There are a few good videos on CZcams showing molds being made.

What type of sealant and paint for that concrete?
No sealant, just latex paint
I have an American box turtle found in GA concrete molded. Funny a REAL ONE visited our home last summer. I have pictures of his beautiful natural colors. I want this one painted exactly like our visitor. I will have difficulty finding exact colors in small quantities. The base dark is smart for most all turtle painting. Do hobby stores have right size paint?
I used pictures I took of a real turtle for the one in the video. I use tubes of artist quality latex like LIQUITEX, so I mix my own colors to get them exact. You can buy them at any hobby store. You’re right, the black base works perfect for turtles (and most anything else)!
