- Remastered in HD to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of What Do I Have To Do?.
Filmed in London and directed by Dave Hogan, “What Do I Have To Do” is a true highlight of Kylie’s promo video canon as she attempts to channel as many Hollywood stars as is humanly possible into a 4 minute clip. Look out also for a (very) brief cameo featuring her sister Dannii in a blonde wig!
The track hit number 6 in the UK chart in early1991 and was the third single from her third Stock Aitken Waterman-produced long-player “Rhythm Of Love”.
Lyrics:
Aah, love you, love you
Don't tell me that it's no use
Love's always been my excuse
Don't tell me it ain't right
My heart is my alibi
Only you, you
Get me acting crazy like I do, do
You say you can't believe it but it's true
Oooh, it's true
What do I have to do
To get the message through
How can I prove
That I really love you, love you
What do I have to do
To get it through to you
How can I prove
That I really love you, love you
There ain't a single night
When I haven't held you tight
But it's always inside my head
Never inside my bed
And it's you, you
Bringing out the passion in my soul, oh
And I gotta have you, don't you know
Oooh, don't you know
What do I have to do
To get the message through
How can I prove
That I really love you, love you
What do I have to do
To get it through to you
How can I prove
That I really love you, love you
Only you, you
Get me acting crazy like I do, do
You say you can't believe it but it's true
Oooh, it's true
What do I have to do
To get the message through
How can I prove
That I really love you, love you
What do I have to do
To get it through to you
How can I prove
That I really love you, love you

#KylieMinogue #WhatDoIHaveToDo30thAnniversary #Remastered #SAW #PWL #StockAitkenWaterman #TheHitFactory #RhythmOfLove #1991 #1990s - Hudba
One of Stock-Aitken-Watermans finest moments. And one of the tracks from Kylie I keep returning to.
If the video was shown today it would still hold.
Whoever devised and directed this video is a genius. Still holds up and looks fresh after thirty years
Can't recall the name but I know they also directed 'Shocked' and I think later 'Finer Feelings'. That last one needs to a check. Might be incorrect.
In the Clubs back then, this Song had the dancerfloor packed out! Still adore it today 🕺🏻🕺🏻🔊🔊
This is without a doubt the finest pop video of all time
Totally TIMELESS! Possibly her most stunning and sophisticated video to date. A bursting series of Italian Vogue images given life and movement, as Kylie invokes memories of Hollywood's most celebrated Goddesses of the 50s and 60s.
Still as current and captivating as it was, more than thirty years ago!
Agreed 🎼🎶💕👌🏾✨😍
Totally Timeless indeed
Couldn't agree more.
This is Kylie I miss.
How was this not a huge hit in the US? Love this song.
It wasn't released there.
American musical gates were a bit different then
The way her eyes look over on the beat . The styling hair and make up is so perfect to go with a perfect pop song 🎉❤❤
Thanks to Madonna's Omnibus Interview 1990 makeup

This song was and still is…… pure perfection.
ONE OF FINEST NIGHT CLUB SONGS EVER , STOCK-AITKEN-WATERMANS CLASSIC . BACK THE DAYS WHEN MUSIC WAS FUN , FUNKY AND COOL , GOD BLESS THIS ERA
It's 2021 - this song was released 30 years ago but the visuals look so beautiful, modern and ICONIC!
1990 was so futuristic
New music videos should take note this video gives me goosebumps I love it
One of the best songs from PWL catalogue. And one of the best from her!
@@johnevans8124 Totally agree!
And she’s still got it
Her best video
Gah, how was I 42 years old before I heard this song!? This is the best 80s song I’ve ever heard. It’s the ideal of what this kind of song should be.
Yes I know it’s 1990 but you know what I mean 😂
No one comes close to Kylie. Every video is so different and so good. She's an enigma. So proud she's an Aussie. 💖
My absolute favourite song of hers
I can't stop watching Kylie music videos tonight. Non stop.
Me either..just love her for the beginning💚
We all have them, it’s OK
you are on the right path.
Oi
Me too all this week👌
This is her best song.
Agree so sexy
Sounds of my youth love it … never has there been a time quite like the 88 to 93 🤪🤪🤪
My favourite Kylie Minogue song
I did hear this in a club: Melbourne in 1990 had a BIG club scene. This track was special because it’s melodic structure was sooooo powerful: it stood out especially after 6 solid hours of acid house.
For those of us who were there for the music, not the drugs or to get lucky, it was like breath of fresh air.
@@ashleyhyne7027 He said it was refreshing because it wasn't acid house
her face is an art, true beauty
Still one of the most beautiful and stylish music videos of all time IMO. And one of Kylie Minogue's all time best songs (out of a catalog completely full of fantastic tracks). But again, the visuals in this video are just stunning and shows just how gorgeous Kylie really is. And after watching the behind the scenes just a minute ago, it only makes me appreciate even further how difficult it was to make a music video like this in the days before CGI. Also, the men in this video are sooooooo hot. Love you Kylie (here in the US)! You're still the Princess of Pop and a gem ❤
Love it! Us Aussie Kylie fans absolutely go nuts when we hear from her fans in the USA!! The fact that she has only really had two big hits in America, yet she has still amassed a huge US following is true testimony to her pulling power!!
Love & Respect from Melbourne, Australia.
Ah, I remember this so well, I was 22, working at a music Magazine in Surry Hills Sydney Australia, the nightclub scene was filmed at a club on Oxford St, called the Freezer. Nights dancing to this at the Exchange, DCM and Taxi Club best years of my life, thanks Kylie ♥️
This song and giving you up are my fav kylie songs EVER. This sobg reminds of a weekend in Blackpool in a club. The memories it holds. ❤
33 years old today!
Good Lord
One of the greatest pop songs ever
So timeless this one, I love this song and film clip as much today as I did when Kylie first surprised the hell out of us with it. Kylie is Legend💚🐨💚👌
Just realizing how many good Kiley tunes I have been missing for last thuhhhtee years. Ahem !
2022 and this song is still a hit! Rhythm of Love is such an uplifting album in these dark times
Yeh the world just got a bit too serious, transport me back to the late eighties and don't bring me back ever LOL.
WOW super Mega fantastic music ❤ Kylie Minogue i love you ❤
Great song and has a really adventurous sound
such a 90s phenomenon...i mean 80s and 90s.....well, 80, 90, 2000, 2010s, 2020s....to be exact
I've loved this woman my whole life 😁👑💖
Came to see this Masterpiece after A Second To Midnight video, everything on that video reminds me to this iconic ERA, i can't barely believe that Is been 30 years 😫💓✨🔮🕛!!!!
This type of music needs to come back!
And 70s rock on the sides🎸
he will return
this is my clubbing time ..LOL
Agreed!!!
Lady Gaga: Chromatica
“What Do I Have To Do?” is a the masterpiece. Who ever would have thought that including a sample of Sam Kinison ranting like a crazy person on a Kylie single would take it to the next level? Whoever they were, they were a genius.
It’s a 10.
One of my most played Kylie records. Just brilliant pop music!
Kylie at her best, what a beautiful lady, always been kylie
How does this still sound so fresh in 2021 😳😎
2023..Who's absolutely loving this ❤💯
Can't begin to describe the memories this song conjures up. 13 years old. Sharing a bedroom with my brother, playing this cassette single on his hifi, it's so weird, this song makes me think of the aftershave we both got at Christmas way back in 1991
One of the best. This deserves ♾️ more views
I remember watching this video/song on her greatest hits on vhs back in the 90s, along with all her other fantastic songs, I just thought, life is good!😊💃🕺🪩❤️🎶
Great song by Kylie..
When you suddenly realise Kylie is stunningly beautiful 😍
It's Perfect!🎉❤
Great times!
90s forever in our hearts 💓
Always remember first time i saw this...,me and my mate come back from a club dancing to this !!! next day video came on the chart show uk!!!was in ore !!!!kept rewinding it over and over!!!Ultimate classic
Goddess of Pop 💕
You can feel music 'leap' here .. like in the background is a hint of Stock, Aitken & Waterman pop sound....but the style, video, club melody ..it's like she leaped 5-10 years in one move, amazing!
Happy Birthday, goddess🥳💜❣️🎉🎉
Hands down my favourite Kylie songs - agreed very Vogue looking and just plain fantastic!
Very Express Youself sound
This is my favourite PWL Kylie song ever. One of Pete Waterman's finest moments this. Thumping beat that races along with multi layered vocals and that sexual video. Just brilliant in the twilight years of Kylie's career with S.A.W
Such a change from Hand on my Heart and I should be so lucky (both great pop songs) - Kylie was definitely growing up by this stage. Still love her
@@allisonday893 By 1990-91 she'd become a very free spirit (probably the Hutchence influence!) and also by 91 PWL knew she'd be on her way the year after so they just let her do what she wnted ! This was her first single to miss the Top 4 - how I don't know!
One of the best female pop artists if not the best of her generation
The best pop single ever!!!
I showed this video to a guy I was dating who hadn't heard any of Kylie's 90s music. I couldn't interpret his expression as he watched and finally asked him what he thought. He turned to me, a bit wide-eyed, and said, "I'm obsessed with this."
Happy 30th birthday What Do I Have To Do!!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
This classic deserve so many views!
This my most favourite Kylie song…a timeless song!!! ❤❤❤
The best Minogue song
insanely good!!! obsessed
Best dance song Kylie ever made! ♥️
This still is my favorite track of Rythm of Love. Brilliant
ANd she has entered her Pre Trance C&C Music Factory stage!!
Just as timeless as Kylie herself.
The full fabulous effect of this song is in the clubs. Love 💓 it 😂
I've probably said this before but this is a KYLIE masterpiece !
One can never say it enough, my friend! ;)
IT IS😍
She is. I've never heard of her before today though.
Erm… it's a Pete Waterman masterpiece. Kylie only provided vocals LOL
@@Scripture-Man It's a Mike Stock & Matt Aitken masterpiece, they did the actual song writing and music production. Peter Waterman mostly took care of the business side.
You’re most beautiful woman in the space kylie❤
This needs remastering to HD along with Shocked. Iconic videos
This is my all time favourite Kylie song🪙💖💯
By far her best song and video
Peak Kylie
Still love this song and the video. Kylie all grown up and filling the dancefloor at the massive Sydney Mardi Gras party. Happy memories.
Could be my favourite video clip of all time . Kylie is pop perfection. Amazing performer
Goddess ❤️❤️🙏❤️❤️
channeling the Bardot look which was big at the time (think Elle Macpherson on the US May 1994 cover of Playboy) Kylie was on fire. Her best.
Kylie can look like who she wants... but nobody can look like Kylie... She is so beautiful.
You're like your namesake in the Vicar of Dibley! Personally, I couldn't understand Hugo Horton fawning over the big-mouthed Kylie, when he had a MUCH prettier girlfriend, Alice! But this is a great song.
@@battywattywoo
Alice is prettier than Kylie ???? To be fair, I am as biased as OP , but still ..... oh, well, no accounting for tastes and all that!!
There is one thing I can objectively arhue against, though - your description of Kylie's mouth - does Alice really have perfect teeth and mouth??? Kylie's are a bit weird but they give her smile so much charm and personality, it would be blasphemous, if she ever had them replaced with a set of false teeth like so many Yanks like to do.
@@Danko_Sekulic Yes, I think Alice's smile MUCH nicer than Kylie's! I can see why the Vicar of Dibley folk fawned over Rachel Hunter, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Samantha Fox, though.
@@Danko_Sekulic By the way, why do people get surprised when I admire Alice? Now, If I physically admired Mrs. Letitia Cropley, that would be cause for shock!
@@battywattywoo
I am a bit late with the reply, but after having googled Hunter, because I had no idea who that was, I feel that my point about tastes has only been reinforced! To me women of her sort are just meh .....
Pfeiffer was somewhat before my time, but I thought she was quite pretty before she became too skinny.
This music video is one of my favs. All those years and Kylie is still the most amazing. In love with Kylie since 1988. She was 20 and I was 4.
Kylie is absolutely Stunning. Love Kylie xxx
Peaked at #6 in U.K. on 10 February 1991
Who's here after watching her recreating this visual in "A Second to Midnight"?
❤always b hear 4 K x
It's the ironing board I came on for as she can iron my jeans for me and get the creases out
No one.. that was... Reductive... 🍵
Yes addicted to this song ❤
This is a major serve, the song, the video, and her beauty and style definitely stand the test of time, Legend Kylie indeed. ✨
Wow what a song I love 💕 it
Kylie being iconic since the 90’s
My favorite album from here! Very underrated and ahead of time!
Who remembers the world premiere of this video on ITV’s The Chart Show in January 1991?
KYLIE IS A LEGENDDDDD
2 A.M. watching Kylie .
Nothings changed since '91.
A visually stunning video. Kylie is also stunning. I love this song. A great song from an amazing singer. She is my favourite singer.
not stunning anymore, she's all dried up and looks about 70
30 years old today , still one of my favourites 💕 21st January 2021
Brigitte Bardot, Elizabeth Taylor, Ava Gardner, Audrey...Sophia... How can she look like all of those legends in three and a half minutes?
Because she can :)
Cause she’s Kylie
...Don't forget Jane Fonda (on the animal rug) and Joan Collins (with the panther tat).
It's the eyes. Both her and sister have this 'eye thing'. I can't describe it.
Cause those are reference points they wanted for sure.
Imagine hearing this song in a club
I'd find some stage or something to perform it on lol
Back in 1991 it was hugely played!
YESSSSS I HEAR THIS IN CLUB ....................................night fever !!!!!!!!!!!!
I danced to this song so many times. Great memories
They should play these classics in the club today instead of that mother fuckin bullshity ass music that's out like Justin Bieber and One Direction.
What a cool song!
30 years ago! Can hardly believe it - was a great video too
Love It!! This song and video are amazing even after 30 years!!
My favourite track to dance to. So many great memories........
Such a bop
Kylie serves the best face ever!xxxo
Dannii is like the easter egg of this video lol. It really took me long to catch her, she's shown so briefly.
Where is she?
@@grandre989 1:12 in the back, and she appeared with a blonde wig too but I don't know the exact moment
When pop music was still considered good music.
For you maybe - plenty of great pop music consistently being made all the time. Sorry you’re out of touch I guess :(
@@jeffersonblinco There's far less good pop music that exists nowadays compared to in the past.
Pwl were at the forefront of music back then ...they created artists and infectious catchy music everyone loves and remembers this era with found memories and affection. Kylie is a little sweetheart too .Great times 🙏❤
