    I just bought one of these plants a week ago. It’s tiny. I’d never seen them before and I’m in love! When I was moving it inside from my garden gazebo, some of the leaves broke off. Thank you for this video and information. I’m excited to propagate!

    This is kinda hard for a fair comparison due to the fact that all of yours already have roots

    • @succulentplantcare373
      @succulentplantcare373  Před 4 lety +2

      You're right. Whenever I propagate, it's always easier if there are already roots growing for obvious reasons. But even without roots, it would still work. I've done it in the past. Have a few videos coming up to show the progression. thanks for commenting!

    Do you water like you normally would, or does this need a light watering until it is rooted?

    • @succulentplantcare373
      @succulentplantcare373  Před 4 lety +2

      I water lightly but more often. About once a week or try not to let the soil go completely dry. I also try using a spray or squirt bottle when propagating.

    How long did it take you to get wide, plump, leaves like that? I have a crassula string of buttons from last summer that didn't do super well right from the beginning. I'm trying to save and revive what I can. But, all I gained through the summer was height. The leaves didn't widen at all.

    • @succulentplantcare373
      @succulentplantcare373  Před 3 lety

      The leaves have always been plump like this. Maybe you have a different type of Crassula perforata. I've seen smaller ones that look slightly different but don't know what they're called. Could also be that the stems were stretching because they needed more light and that's why your leaves looked different? They also flatten and shrivel when in need of more water or very dry.

    • @scootermom1791
      @scootermom1791 Před 3 lety +2

      @@succulentplantcare373 I checked, and I actually bought the baby necklace crassula (in addition to the buttons...my buttons are plump, too...just got them mixed up with each other). I had to look it up previous purchases on Etsy. Lol
      So, I guess I'm not watering the baby necklace as much as I should, but that's because people always say not to over water them. The stretching makes sense, too. Hopefully I can revive the poor things (I have two survivors). Thanks for replying; the info you provided was very helpful. 🙂

      @@scootermom1791 Hi, I looked up what baby necklace crassula looks like and they are adorable 🤩!

      @@succulentplantcare373 Thank you! I actually attempted to gently break off some dead leaves from the baby necklace, and unfortunately the stem, itself, broke off. It was quite brittle. So, I'm hoping I will have success in getting the healthy part that's left to propagate. I've tried, unsuccessfully, to propagate succulents before, so I'm crossing both my fingers and toes this time. 🙂🙂🙂

    What about the cut off part that stayed on the mother plant? Mine just dried but the plant is still alive. Only the small part of the cut off stem is dried

    • @succulentplantcare373
      @succulentplantcare373  Před 3 lety

      The stump of the cut-off part would sometimes grow new shoots. Usually, it grows two new shoots. But if it dries up, then it may not grow any new plants.

    I have one in a prop of water. I’ve noticed that’s it’s grown quite a bit. It’s just the stem that is in the water. No roots. Could I still place it soil ? Will it root?

    • @succulentplantcare373
      @succulentplantcare373  Před 3 lety

      No roots? How long has it been in water? Usually I see roots growing after about two weeks or so in water. Yes you can try planting it in soil and see if it roots. I’ve tried this with an Aeonium stem and it worked but have not tried it with this plant.
