I have watched this probably 30-40 times and cry every time during the Stairway performance. The ABSOLUTE best music performance EVER!!! AMAZING!!! Love how with all the instruments and backup singers and 50 person choir they still cannot drown out Ann Wilson - man she has some pipes. 😍
Unfortunately not, so over most of Led Zeppelin's catalog. They were great to listen to in my youth, but unfortunately for me, their music just doesn't hold up. When the levee breaks, and going to California, are the only two songs I can handle.... Glad you got your phil from them...and this performance
God damn that tribute to LZ w Heart doing stairway to heaven was one of the most amazing performances I’ve ever heard/seen. The chorus was also epic. Tears.
Buddy Guy, the root of ALL guitar gods. Ask ANY ONE of them. First time watching this part of the program, and have to say the tribute to Buddy was righteous. Soul-reaching, heartfelt renditions of the master. I would have PAID to see this all by itself, but to have the Led Zep tribute on the same night, just epic.
Tha k you for all that you shared ... The revolution, each movie 🎬 rewatching this day these movies these chilling moments .. 🎉 the music 🎶 the artist to be shared with friends and family members ❤️...
That performance by heart was phenomenal. Absolutely beautiful sound from Ann singing it. Nancy awesome as always and Jason sounds just like dad. Great job
1000% correct to be shared with friends and family especially this wkend may music spiral our world back together with comedy & tribute to amazing human beings ❤️
Remember if it wasn't for buddy guy muddy waters sonny boy Williamson Koko Taylor and the list goes on we wouldn't have greats like led zeppelin etc. thank God for the blues !!
It is amazing to see the whole program here, as opposed to snippets. 2012 was an amazing Kennedy Centers Honors program. I cannot understand how Kid Rock slithered into all, being such a D Lister and pretty un-rock and roll as to honoring the great Led Zeppelin. I had to fast-forward through his embarrassing performance. Buddy Guy was the highlight to be honest, but all the honorees deserved it.
Start to finish, one of the best KCH telecasts ever. I really loved watching Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones groove to the Buddy Guy tribute, not to mention Buddy himself! And Ann Wilson of Hear, just amazing. Great show!
I mean...if you're lucky enough to attend Kennedy Center Honors, you know that you'll see some great performances. But could you imagine being lucky enough to get there in 2012 and witnessing Heart absolutely SLAY the single greatest cover in the history of music?
I come back and watch this often, it's always been one of my favorite Kennedy Honor's because honestly, is there anything cooler than, seeing the President of the USA movin, groovin and singing along to some of your own favorite songs! But now, every time it gets to the part where the Foo Fighters come on, I can't keep from crying the second Taylor Hawkins starts singing....so so very missed 💔
Pretty amazing set of tributes from all genres of artistic endeavor...this show had it all, cinematic achievement, classic dance from what was once the East and is now the West, home style blues and Rock and Roll fusion, new style deadpan cometic staging, and finally, the Led Zeppelin tribute... The Obama's ruled the world 🌎🌍🌎🌍🌎🌍🌎🌍... the peterman...
How fantastic to have Caroline Kennedy leading this program. Class, beauty, intelligence never go out of style. The Kennedy Center Honors are always a source of optimism for those of us who admire great talent, especially when the world seems like a troubled mess. I am grateful.
what an amazing night and honories. Led Zeppelin alone is worthy of an epic celebration of history in music. My 1st show 1977 in Los Angeles, and later in my life had the honor of meeting Robert Plant and photographing him. But then to add the night with the likes of Buddy Guy, David Letterman, Dustin Hoffman, etc. wow.. And to see Jeff Beck playing knowing th e history of him with Jimmy Page and having Jason Bonham playing Stairway in his dads chair.. just bring chills to your neck. What I would have given to just be there.
Thank you so much for this, came looking just for the Led Zeppelin tribute but the whole show was amazing. Heartbreaking seeing Taylor sing Led Zeppelin, such as loss.
Ah, how absolutely marvelous! Still, no day is complete without a teaching moment, however tiny, trivial, insignificant, of no consequence or moment. So here's my minuscule nit: Bravo! is for MEN. It's "Brava!" ("brave" for multiple women, and "bravi" for multiple men or a mixed group). Bravi! to all and to all a good night.
Kennedy Center needs to honor more of the ealry blues players, because without those musicians we would've never had an Elvis to rip them off. Charlie Patton, Robert Johnson, Son House, Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters, BB King, Robert Lockwood, Chuck Berry, and the list goes on and on.
While I won't disagree that "the woman singing with Jeff Beck" has been greatly inspired by Janis Joplin....Her name is Beth Hart, and if you haven't ever listened to her music, you really should. I don't mean to throw any shade or disrespect, but Beth Hart took from Janis Joplin and elevated it to a whole other stratosphere. She's mind-blowingly good. You will enjoy her. Promise. xo
I found this strange. Buddy Guy recorded and performed a lot of covers, but he wrote some damn good songs, too. Ten Years Ago? Leave My Girl Alone? Stone Crazy? Damn Right I've Got The Blues? They couldn't perform even one of those during Buddy's tribute? The Zeppelin tribute was epic. I felt like Guy's tribute was an afterthought. He deserved better.
I agree. I'm a Chicagoan. I'm a guitarist. I've sat six feet from Buddy as he blew the walls off his club Legends. The great thing is that every musician there including Zep and Jeff Beck knows Buddy is THE MAN.
The Etta James song was great, but I agree, they should've done more for Buddy and need to do more when it comes to all the old blues musicians who are the Godfathers of Rock N Roll. Love Bonnie but really she does a Robert Johnson song to honor Buddy Guy...really who picked these songs to honor him?
Thanks for posting this, but how about upping the picture quality to at least 720p? At least that would be at the low end of HD. This is way down at 360p. It deserves better.
Ann & Nancy are such huge Led Zeppelin fans I mean its clear as day all you have to do is listen to their music, they are the female Led Zeppelin group.
It literally took a 100 people to do Stairway to Heaven to do it any justice. Led Zeppelin was not only one of a kind but without a doubt "The greatest band ever" of any genre and all genres.
These tribute events are so emotional, very cute indeed, I would suggest everybody, organize every month at least one, so many artists deserve to be celebrated, let them know how much they mean to us. I was watching on TV some episodes of the Terminator serie.. we can not allow the spreading of criminal nature untill androids and ruthless robots will take over and murder humans because..evil. We need to hang on such delightful tips that help people to get back the human nature lost and fight back criminal intentions in a natural way...before lifeless robots take over, before it's too late. We can not allow this trend, losing any emotional impact because that's what raise us really strong as humans, it's not true😢😢😢
You probably weren't even born in the '70s. The Song Remains The Same soundtrack & film by the same name were in a league of their own for times. People flocked to the theaters and bought the double album like hotcakes.
Hearts performance of Stairway to Heaven is still considered the #1 performance in Kennedy Center Honors history!
Absolutely unbelieveably good songs !!!
My youth is returning 🤩👋👋👋
Was anyone else in tears after that Stairway to Heaven performance?
Wow! 🥹✨✨
hah who wouldn't?

Buddy Guy, still keeping the blues alive, just as he promised Muddy.
Sweet home Chicago loves Buddy Guy! ❤ Thank God, so many guitarists wanted to play just like him. Great music never dies--ever! 💙💙💙
That performance by heart was phenomenal. Absolutely beautiful sound from Ann singing it. Nancy awesome as always and Jason sounds just like dad. Great job
Why does it feel like my soul just left my body after that Heart Performance??!!!❤️❤️❤️
In TEARS every time I see this....
RIGHT?!?!! TRULY SPIRITUAL AND BEAUTIFUL!!!!
1000% correct to be shared with friends and family especially this wkend may music spiral our world back together with comedy & tribute to amazing human beings ❤️
Because it did!! That's what happens ever time Ann picks up 🎤 ❤❤❤ I'm still in tears
You would laugh if you knew how Robert wrote the lyrics to STH , the weirdest lines ever written. And I often wondered what the hell it was about .
Ann & Nancy Wilson, the band, the choirs. Stairway to Heaven. One of the greatest performances in rock history.
The tribute to Buddy Guy was fantastic. So was all the tributes to everyone honored. I had a co worker who named her cat Zeppelin after Led Zeppelin.
After hearing Heart on Stairway to Heaven I am convinced this was the greatest musicians ever assembled. God Bless Led Zeppelin!!
Great good tribute the greatest song of all time spritual special my mother who would be 88 now loved it
Natasha, one of our shared home’s (Earth’s) best dancers ever! One of my role models.

Can't help but recognize the power and creativity that came from Led Zeppelin.

Touches my heart The greatest rock n roll band of all time
I remember Jimmy Kimmel putting on a repeat of his show and told his audience to watch Dave’s last show..classy..thanks Jimmy!
I mean...if you're lucky enough to attend Kennedy Center Honors, you know that you'll see some great performances. But could you imagine being lucky enough to get there in 2012 and witnessing Heart absolutely SLAY the single greatest cover in the history of music?

Buddy Guy was awesome. Juzt needed Stevie Ray Vaughan on stage.
Jeff Beck, tore that UP!
RIP...
So did Beth Hart.🎶🫠
Yes to all of your comments…. I’ve watched it so many times and my reaction is the same. Beautiful!! Brings back so many memories!
can't believe this was 10 years ago.
Heart closing was amazing!
I can not get enough of Ann's voice! What a talent for the ages!
Yeah - if only she could pronounce the words. "And she's buy-a-zhing a stairway -" wtf??
Heart great great performance
While this was extra special. Seen Heart 3 times back in the 70's. They never disappoint.

Thank you for sharing this. This one was one of the best ❤
I wish Hoffman, Pacino and DeNiro would've done a film together.
Thank you so much for this, came looking just for the Led Zeppelin tribute but the whole show was amazing. Heartbreaking seeing Taylor sing Led Zeppelin, such as loss.
Wow! All these amazing yet so different honorees! Plus Caroline Kennedy! So cool!
I enjoy watching the Kennedy Center Honors shows so much! Many thanks for making them available here for us all!

Ray Romano getting off maybe the greatest joke ever told to a President’s face and it wasn’t even in the top 5 moments of this show

What a wonderful show.I think people should be honoured when they are Alive.Whoever got this idea ,they certainly hit the nail on the head!
My Favorite Band Ever With Almost 100 Minutes Of Pure Joy
I'm here for Buddy Guy
The greatest of all time.
That was OUTSTANDIND, to say the least!!!
I'm glad that Tracy Chapman did Big Mama Thornton's version of "Hound Dog." The woman singing with Jeff Beck owes a heck of a lot to Janis Joplin.

I have to agree, after all, it was because of Buddy Guy and so many other stellar Blues artist's, that we got Led Zeppelin in the first place.

both Neil sedaka and Mickey Rooney should get this honour the fact that they haven't is just plain wrong .

Did Jack Black say nine albums? Because Led Zeppelin only did eight studio albums.
