They did win a Grammy last year so...
well 2 grammy nominations in 3 years, michael league of snarky puppy mentioning them as one of his favourite bands, praise from stevie wonder and prince... I think that is a lot of recognition for a band that does true music and not simple and easy to listen to as most mainstream music is.
***** i found them extremely easier to listen to than lets say, beyoncé. but that doesn't mean that the majority of the people would feel the same way. if you know anyting about music in general you would agree with me that songs by them like atari or laputa just to mention 2 songs, are not what the majority of the people would consider easy listening. on the other hand if some of their songs are easy listening that doesn't correspond to a structure of the composition that can be considered ''simple''
i admire the drummer, unlike most drummer who just want to bang the crap out of their drums he stays in the background balancing the sounds.

Perrin Moss had only been drumming for a couple years before he got his first gig...with Hiatus Kaiyote. Notice that he doesn't play like most other drummers, his arms are open instead of crossed. He's self taught

Indeed. I heard them first in Anderson Paak's outro, listened to their Song and immediately recognized the drummer's Playstyle. Not that the others are unique too, but exact your Statement came up to my Thoughts.
For 6:13, it wasn't raining anymore, I wasn't on my way to work, and I was no longer on planet earth. For that moment, I was a citizen of whatever galaxy they take you to when they play, and one day...I'll figure out a way to stay there.

Damn! The groove is so heavy. There is so much in this song musically. It's soulful but yet orchestral as is shifts and flows from one pace to another. Then my man on the keys injects a bit of jazz into the mix. Ever since Questlove (respectable musical genius) gave them a shout out I've loved their sound. Keep it up you guys.

Absolute insane band. On another level to everyone else. Their ability to create incredible melodies with such complex musical patterns is astounding. One of the very best around no doubt.

Seriously there is not a weak position in this band. They are all incredible musicians..... even more so i think either their souls are connected or they share one. They have touched mine. It never gets old .
It's a sad thing where really good music can only be heard through sources like the internet and youtube, but if it was not for this I would of never heard of Hiatus. Get the word out tell your friend that good music is still being made....you just have to look for it now.
