It’s possible that the servers are owned by Activision and could stay up. When the Wii online shut down I was still able to play Black Ops online. Fingers crossed 🤞!
The one thing that I will miss from the Wii U, it's the pre intro themes. Whenever you are about to play whatever game you want or about to press start you get a quick intro of its theme.
I basically miss playing the WIIU because there were certain games that were more than just 4 players like Nintendo land, game and wario, and super smash bros U it was so cool that you could play up to 8 players and I think switch still has that capability, but there are certain games that I miss playing that aren't on the switch, I also miss the 3DS for similar reasons as well and its really sad to see that go.
@fg1astro824 1tb SSD will cover the wii u side pretty easily... im running a .5tb micro sd card for wii, gcn, snes, nes, and all gameboy stuff(although i'd recommend a full 1tb micro SD if you're shooting for a full library)
I don't usually play online so this doesn't affect me much, however I understand that many do and the good news is that thanks to very talented people there will always be a way to get back to playing online, maybe limited to emulators on PC but there will always be a way.
What you say at the end is true, my brothers are now in that portion, they barely have time to play games (and mostly they play Smash Ultimate online), for me while I still have some time, other priorities are starting to emerge that doesn't allow me to do it like how I was used to and have to (REALLY) value what I am going to play in terms of what games to buy.
The Nintendo 3DS was my childhood and this makes me extremely sad. :( I've been playing lots of Mario Maker 3DS, Animal Crossing New Leaf and Mario Kart 7 online before the servers shut down permanently. The 3DS got me into gaming and im very sad with what Nintendo is doing to their Previous Consoles and systems. :(
When I got my WiiU I was just getting groceries at Walmart and I perused to electronics and it was WiiU launch day and I was surprised they still had them in stock. I was with my buddy and I said “should I buy it?” And he goes “nah man you don’t need that” and that was kind of a buzz kill so I just went about my grocery shopping and went home. I got home and I couldn’t stop thinking about it, it kept me up all night that I didn’t buy it. So I woke back up at 5:30am and went back and it was still there so I bought it. Mind you I had to work at 9:00am so I had to come home and get ready, but I could rest easy knowing I secured the bag and had it waiting for me when I got home!
Gonna be playing some Spatoon 2 tonight. Man, i think i made it to level sixtysomethig, and remember playing with people who were level 80 or higher. I really miss some of those stages.
I remember watching Splatoon videos getting hyped up for 2, I never had a Wii U so I missed out on the original, My lady and I are gonna miss the weekly Ryukahr 100 Mario challenge as well
Unfortunately never had a wiiu. But watching ryukahr play Mario maker always made me want one. I have had every variation of ds and 3ds, one of my favorite handhelds ever.
I'll miss coming home from school and being able to play Mario kart 7 on my 3DS, And all the Mario platforming games. I remember when I was able to buy Awakening, and birthright in college.
I still remember when Miiverse closed down. And isn’t it weird that this happening on the same day as the eclipse. This day will be pretty active for me.
Honestly my 3DS XL broke in february 2022 i've had it since july 2013 my brother got it as a birthday gift i took it everywhere with me & played all my pokemon games on it.. so that's the part i'll miss about my 3DS XL.
I played a little bit of Splatoon and Super Smash Brothers but I played more Mario Kart 8 than anything and probably played local multiplayer of that game more than any other game ever. It was definitely a special era of gaming for me
I went pretty deep on the 3DS library. Honestly was my biggest library before I sold the bulk of the stuff in an attempt to downsize because I moved around too damn much. The memory that always come to mind first is playing Kid Icarus with the GBATemp group. They did Mario Kart tournies every weekend too but it was Kid Icarus that I had the most fun with. When I got a wii u(quite late in its life) i bought splatoon, and it sucked me in and held me there for months. Shame the 3rd one couldn't live up to the fun I had with the first.
Honestly, the most fun I had was modding mine so I could put all of my carts on the SD card. But the best game for me was A Link Between Worlds or SoulSilver (not a 3DS game but I digress). Never had a Wii U.
FBI: “Hi sir, what is going on?” RGT: (babycrying) “there are a bunch of people saying that I’m a Nintendo CZcamsr, but I am not!” 😭 FBI: “But sir, over 90% of your videos are about Nintendo, the background of this video there is a Big Red “Nintendo” logo, so what is the problem?” RGT: 😭😭😭😭 “I’m not a Nintendo CZcamsr”
I absolutely loved wind Waker on my way you gave it fun elements that I don’t remember playing it on any other system where it was quite the same experience
For me I loved MK7 and Kid Icarus I really loved Miiverse which wasn’t really a game obviously but still used online and was a great way to connect with fellow fans.
I will miss playing online coop without subscribing. Grinding Monster Hunter, GTS on Pokemon, those days man. I love my 3DS so much and it's the first console I bought with my own money too
Kid icarus uprising genuinely had amazing online, i played that A TON! Theres still people playing it everyday, that should tell you how good it is. To bad its not gonna be around much longer.
Now that the era is over, something tells me there's going to be a new switch model announcement later this year. I know it sounds impossible but my gut tells me
I didn’t mess with the online for the 3ds at all but I didn’t own one for long, on the Wii U I only played Splatoon and Super Mario Maker online and both were pretty cool. I didn’t have Mario Kart 8 until Deluxe on the Switch.
Being born mid 90s made it suck for me as a gamer. I grew up with NES, SNES, N64 and got a gamecube for my 9th birthday. So I played lots for that ers. However, I was too young to buy my own stuff going forward. I never got anything past the Gameboy Advance so I missed out on the DS until 2015 when I bought a 3DS for the first time for Majoras Mask. I was too young to buy my own stuff so there's a big leap of games I never played. But also, when I was old enough to buy it, I didn't buy that stuff because I A.) Never new about them and B.) Things were a bit out dated. Everything 2004-2009 just kinda existed without my knowledge.
Kid Icarus was a rare and well done little shooter action game. The online mode ( although choppy Fran rate) was really enjoyable and I believe was played even to this day. Although I had use the four buttons as the right joystick or my hands would cramp.
I still have a 3DS and 2DS. CD Black Ops, Resident Evil Deadly Silence, Moon, Core, Dementium, Botanical Heros, Golden Eye 007, Metroid Prime Hunters, Brothers in Arms, Impossible Mission, Indians Jones, Tenkai Knights, and many more... I was thinking of selling them all 😢...Nah, just kidding 😂! You're the best bro, truly an awesome Nintendo CZcamsr! 🤣
Though I owned a regular DS, the 3DS was really my first entry into online multiplayer. I would park myself outside my local McDonald's (inside if I had pocket money) and play as much Street Fighter and download as much stuff as I could. It lost its appeal once I got the Switch and my own wifi.
I might have to play some Kid Icarus Uprising online for the first time in years before it’s too late. Loved that multiplayer and probably put 100 hours into that all by itself. Really crossing my fingers the game will return in some form someday… it’s one of Sakurai’s biggest bangers and it really is way too good to be fated to be stuck on a dead handheld.
Pretendo works pretty well at least on 3DS, haven't played on my Wii U in forever. I still play my 3DS almost every day. It's a shame they never brought StreetPass to the Switch - but at least that will continue to function after the 8th.
I want to thank all my pokemon 3ds friends/mario kart 3ds friends...the 3ds was the standard for portable gaming for a while...the games were limited but...everything has pros and cons to it...if it's fun and makes you happy do it!! Thanks for the memories.🎉❤❤️🩹🫶😎🤟
I actually never played the 3DS or the Wii due to a weird break in gaming I had in my life. I didn't really game at all post wii until I bought a Switch back in 2020.
I never owned a Wii U but I did have a 3DS. I got mine on New Year’s 2011 going into 2012 with Super Mario 3D Land and I beat the game in one sitting that day. Then in 2013 I got Pokemon Y for my birthday and I also beat that in one sitting
But it’s still the beginning of your era as a Nintendo CZcamsr
BIG facts
lmfao this guy can’t leave the nintendo rumors alone it’s sad
He knows alarmism is good for clicks
But dont you dare say it
RGTENDO 85 😂
This is why Emulation is a good thing.
Nintendo Network dies, and Pretendo rises from it's ashes to pick up the torch
It’s really hard to tell what’s really next for Nintendo…
Switch 2 😅
Making a Hybrid Portable system is the only thing keeping them in the game. Its differentiating themselves from Microsoft and Sony.
Wii 2
@CeeJay-ri5gy???
A Nintendo direct this month will solve that
Another great video from one of my favorite Nintendo CZcamsrs!

It's the beginning of a new Nintendo era ❤❤❤. CAN'T WAIT FOR AN OFFICIAL SWITCH 2 NEWS ❤❤❤
Black Ops 2 MP on the wiiu was great. I used to play it while I was in the bathroom. Good times

Same day as the eclipse?!? I smell a conspiracy
Where I go for all my Nintendo news by CZcamss best Nintendo CZcamsr!!
Exactly.
Same
It's ironic I stopped watching Switch Force and stayed subbed to RGT for Nintendo news
For not being a Nintendo youtuber you are a good nintendo youtuber
I’m sad about the servers
I loved my Wii u. Didn't get enough games for it. But I enjoyed what I did get.

Another reason why emulation preserves games.
games not going anywhere just can't play online.
@@jimmyju76 "The games aren't going anywhere, just having chunks of functionality gutted" isn't the winning argument you think it is.
Emulation isn’t need to play the games.
Why? Because you own the game.
Wait until you find out you can still play them online
@@User12347ejdj Emulation isn't the same as piracy
There is currently a custom server in development right now called Pretendo. Show them some love
Man I don’t usually have my favorite Nintendo CZcamsr RGT make me feel sad from a video. Sometimes nauseous but never sad.
Today at 5pm EST I’m gonna be giving the Wii U a good farewell by hosting/streaming an online Wii U racing tournament in Skylanders Superchargers!
I never played online before with my 3ds but I am enjoying now my homebrew new Nintendo 2DS XL with over 200 plus games on it. 😂
with a homebrew 2ds you can still play online by using the pretendo network
I was super late to both the Wii U and 3DS... but since modding, they've quickly become my most played systems
How much extra storage would you recommend? 🤔
