And when your joystick drifts you’ll have to get another elite.
I’ve had my elite for 4 years. Not drift at all.. still a better controller in my opinion. I’m a comp R6 player
Not really. If it ever drifts realistically you have 3 options. 1 is calibration because most modern controllers can fix drift with software. 2 is replacing the sticks by opening up the controller, which most modern controllers have the ability to do. 3 is replacing them with hall effect sticks, so they never drift.
@@MXALOVE The advantage the Sony one has is that you can replace the sticks for $20 each. Not everyone knows how to solder them in.
Joystick drift isn't such a big deal unless it's major stick drift wich is unlikely
I’m one a year on my elite series 2 and I have 0 drift also if you do get drift software updates help fix it also there’s options for input deadlines in most games so you can actively counter it if necessary. I’ve experienced more drift wit PlayStation than I have on Xbox literally 6 ps4 controller to 0 Xbox controllers.

coming from someone who has owned an xbox one and now owns a ps5, the elite controller IS the better option on paper, but you forgot some key aspects that differentiate the two: first, the fact that the dualsense has a lot of features in itself that drain the battery up veey quickly, such as the lights, the built-in microphone, the built-in speaker and the adaptive triggers. those are the ones i can think of, dunno if there’s more things that have an impact to it. secondly, it seems to have some nice features, like the fact that you can swap out the joysticks entirely in case you experience stick drift, which is something i’ve never seen in a controller before. overall i think that both controllers were built for two different purposes, since the elite is more targeted for competitive gaming while the edge was built for gameplay immersion and a bit for competition.

Xbox elite series 2 has a locked usb clock speed of 7.9ms and cant be over clocked. Dual sense usb clock speed is 3.9ms out of the box and can be overclocked to 0.9ms... huge difference...
what does that mean?
@silvallygamer123 it's the input delay the controller has. USB has a clock speed and some manufactures lock these I.e xb elite series 2 is locked speed that gives an 8ms delay. As its locked, you can't overclock this to reduce it. Where as the dual sense has a stock clock of 4ms, but can be overclocked to reduce the input lag to less than 1ms.
@@daxgaming6391how does one over clock the controller to do that? Lol only PC able?
@chrisaguilar1410 you use a software to force the USB port to run at a different clock speed. If the controller can be overclocked, it will startusing the new clock speed. Check out gamers heaven controller overclock guide
bro nobody cares about some small ms difference.
One better thing with the dual sense edge is that it's more repairable
But comes in more cost then the repair ability for the ps5 one then Xbox since the Xbox one lasts longer without any problems. So pick, repair a controller more often spending more money(duel edge) or don’t repair it since” if it’s not broke, then it’s fine”(Xbox) if you get what I mean.
honestly my elite controller is very easily repairable but then again idk about ps controllers, I've heard that they are more difficult to disassemble fully compared to Xbox controllers

1. The 2 back buttons instead of 4 is personal preference as 2 is enough for me.

3. The analog sticks are REPLACEABLE meaning you can buy new stick modules for just £20/$20 instead of a new controller.
4. You can swap between custom profiles with ease on the ps5 by holding the function button and pressing one of the shapes that has a profile linked to it.

Actually the Xbox Elite 2 Controller doesn’t charge wirelessly. There are 3 pins in the charging station that directly contact the 3 pads at the back of the controller which enables charging. You can swap the analog sticks. Enough said.
I love the DualSense's slimmer grips but it's really hard to go back to PlayStation's left thumbstick position after having tried Xbox's -- my left thumb is on the stick 60 - 80% of the time and it's great to have my thumb close to its neutral position on an Xbox controller.
thats why you have back paddles lol but ok
@@fabolousjada5070 What does the back paddles have to do with my left thumb placement? You mean to say it can be used as a left stick? 🤔
Ok.
I will never understand this argument. Your hands are symmetrical. Why shouldn't the sticks be ?
@@dc-vw4qm True. But you don't seem to get my point. Look at your hands from the side. You'll see that your left thumb naturally is close the the index finger.
With the DS controllers, you have to shift it away from its neutral position to reach the left thumbstick.
Now consider most games require the use of left thumbsticks more often than the D-pad.
With Xbox's left thumbstick placement (as well as Switch's and other 3rd party controllers), the left thumb is close to its neutral position most of the time.
The right thumbstick placement doesn't really matter though because your right thumb pretty much uses the facebuttons and right stick almost equally (unless it's an FPS game).
The PlayStation controllers though are a lot easier to play 2D platforming games with because the D-pad sets your thumb near its neutral position.

well personally, on my elite 1 the magnetic joysticks often come off far too easily, usually when I don't want them to. Dropping the controller or flicking/pulling it wrong by mistake can easily cause them to fly off, also the controller is extremely heavy compared to other controllers, if you get stick drift you have to replace the entire controller. and also my LB button broke after a year of regular use. I love Xbox and their controllers but I won't be buying their premium ones anymore, the new PlayStation edge looks great aside from the small battery life. I'm debating buying it for pc due to the replaceable thumbsticks and dual sense triggers, also the track pad is pretty cool. But I much prefer the Xbox controller shape in the hand so I'm still debating it, battery life is not an issue as I run wired controllers on the occasions that I use a controller on PC.

@@phantasticmrphasma9874 I agree, regular Xbox controllers are great but the elite series is a huge scam
I got my edge 2 days ago and it's great with all the settings on ps5. Idk if you get all these different deadzones and stuff on PC with this controller. But yeah I switched to Playstation back in 2017/2018 from being on Xbox my entire life for online gaming. Before I switched I had an Xbox elite for my Xbox one, assuming it was an elite 1 or 1st generation etc. I mainly played cod, rainbow six siege, halo. So obviously the sticks and paddles got used a bit. It got stick drift just as fast as a normal controller. After like couple months of use, it felt like the magnets for the paddles, joysticks got weaker and they would just pop off like you said. I still have it lol my main reason for switching to Playstation was I always hated the Xbox one controller, smaller sticks, deadzones being smaller/super sensitive compared to Xbox 360 controllers. But the main reason is the Xbox one controllers had more input delay.
@@SooHighFashion I never knew Xbox controllers had more input delay, as far as paddles go I've never used them even on my elite 1. I suppose you could get an app for tuning your controller deadzones. or adapt to the preset ones and change your in-game sensitivity/deadzones if needed if you used the edge on PC, I still feel that the Xbox controller is more comfortable in the hand than the playstation controller
@@Voidesh xbox elite controllers have almost 8 times sinput delay compared to a standard dualsense
As a PS5 owner I was so shocked to find out from the comments on this video that the Xbox controller doesn’t have a microphone, speaker, touchpad, haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. I knew about the other stuff they didn’t have on their controllers but other than that I thought they were identical. Now I’m so grateful that I chose a ps5 instead of the Xbox as I was considering getting an Xbox.
As an owner of all three types, xbox ps5 and pc I’d say get the xbox it’s not really often that you’ll be using those features the playstation has if anything it made it harder for me to play my fps games with my ps5 controller. I started gaming on ps2 then moved to xbox and now I’m dominantly on pc but in my opinion xbox is just better if you don’t care about exclusive games
I also have all three and PlayStation is just better but Xbox didn’t really change anything with there elite besides you being able to adjust tension which most people don’t even use so your basically paying 120 dollars more for metal triggers
You mean the microphone with terrible quality, the useless speaker, touchpad that is basically just a big button, haptic feedback that hardly any games use and adaptive triggers that hardly any games use? Yeah such great “features”
controller mic and speaker 💀💀💀
Controller mic really?
Like huh just plug in a headset that has a microphone attached.
Funny how both of them still use joysticks with potentiometer that gets damaged over time really fast. Instead of using halls effect joysticks that can theoretically work forever
I have both and i always find myself going back to the edge the dome back buttons are a game changer

4 hours is truly insane for a product marketed as "pro". I imagine a lot of people who buy a PlayStation pro controller will have some play sessions larger than 4 hours, not to mention if they just forget to plug it in. That's why I personally prefer the opportunity to flip in rechargeable AAs in a normal xbox controller but otherwise, if I have to use an internal battery 40 hours is very much acceptable.
bro yu can charge the controller
while yu play. or use your original controller for 30 mins
@@Yahsan_yhwh What's the point of buying a wireless controller if you have to play it while it's wired? What's the point of a pro controller if you have to use a normal controller as well? More accurately, what's the point of a pro controller if you have to make compromises? It's really as simple as Sony using a better battery.

I don't blame him, I own a ps5, and the dualsense edge is a joke just as the standard controller. Their software and devices are garbage, lmao
My elite 2 controller has actually held up really well surprisingly after almost 2 years of play time. But the magnetic dpad and sticks do get very annoying if it falls they go everywhere

Well dont throw the controller

Yeah but the bigger size and the offset joysticks make it a non starter for me. Unfortunately
People don’t talk about how on the Elite 2 you can remove the base from the case and now you have a charging dock
He either lied or completely missed that the Edge has rubber grips on the back. They’re not at apparent as the elite, but to say the Edge is completely plastic is false
Dualsense Edge...3 things i wanted most was Hall effect sticks and soft texture rubber grips and better battery life... as u can guess i didnt buy! MS dont use Hall effect sticks either! Both take the piss theres 3rd party controllers that use Hall effect sticks costing less than half the price of these!
2 backbuttons is better than 4
I agree with you it's just that there's one problem I can't connect an Xbox controller to a Playstation
I'm sure there a USB adapter out there for it, they have one for the switch that allows for any controller to be paired with full functionality

My issue with the Xbox Elite wireless 2 joysticks is that they are so easy to fall off and get detached. I can't count how many times I would be playing and the joysticks would come right off and fall somewhere on the ground in my room.
Yeah you just made that up. There’s no way you can detach those sticks if not purposely grabbing them and pulling them off.
hahahahahah
