The One-Click Apps, they're completely safe right? Nothing would go wrong? Cos I'm not coding myself, so there can't be a mistake?

Obd11 won't void warranty cuz I've had it modified for over 2 years and the dealership never said anything.

What about turning the torque limiting off and the asc/ esc, cuz that's about the only thing I'd stress over

Ive been so close to pulling the trigger on the OBD11 on your site but Ive been hesitant with what ive heard in the forums. Some users of late 2017 GTI sports have had issues getting some on the mods done. Should I go fo it?

    Hi Paul,
I am about to do a mk7 steering wheel retrofit, however I dont use VCDS but OBD eleven. Is there a way to code the retrofitted steering wheel so it enables me to use multifunction (cruise control and paddle shifters)? Thanks

Hey Paul so on your project MK7 at what intervals did you change your oil? Technically like you mentioned we can go 1 year/10K, but if you want to keep your car for the long run will doing it at 5K intervals be better. I just hit 5k checked my oil and it looks fine, but i'm debating if I should change now or just when I hit 10k. Mine is stock and I use it as a DD mostly highway miles.

To answer a few warranty related question, i was a warranty admin for VW/Audi for a number of years. The reason why some dealers are different to some others is pretty simple. When a warranty repair is carried out the warranty clerk processes that claim to VW to claim back labour costs and and parts used. Dealers get audited by VAG and we get fined a % of the last 12 months of claims labour and parts combined. We are allowed a 2% error rate which is crazy, so if a dealer was to get a 10% error rate and last years claims totalled 1m we would be fined 100,000 so any doubts anything could be rejected by VAG, we would not carry out repairs under warranty.

What do you mean by error rate?

RE Internal upgrades, Fully agreed with Paul. I'm stage II with almost every bolt on you can get but on the stock turbo. If I were to go stage III, I would not just marry up a new turbo like a lot of guys have done, I'd strengthen everything from the inside out but since the car is a daily, I'm happy with 370WHP Dyno and 385 torque. Every mod you do will add to your TCO (total cost of ownership) oil changes become more frequent, spark plugs, CAI air filters are pricier when they disintegrated like mine did and you really should take 30% off the VW recommended maintenance for Haldex and oil changes if you track the car. Oh and upgraded brakes to take the power and larger brake rotors and pads are pricier.
Stage II really is the limit for most of us if it's a DD and you have a finite amount of funds. At Stage III, just go buy an RS3 and enjoy your warranty with the same amount of power.

I have removed torque limiting and asr/esc off and after last oil change by dealer (they told me that they done some kind of inspection service as well) I noticed that all my modifications are reverted. I suspect it was done by dealer during inspection service. Can you comment it? Why modifications were reverted?

Paul - I have a question I would like to submit. 2017 Golf R owner here. I (along with other folks) have been receiving intermittent CEL's for cylinder misfires (P0300/P0301/2/3/4). Dealer is aware, VW is aware, and apparently there is a bug and a fix which is yet to be released by VW. Have you heard anything about this, and do you know if there is a timeline on this fix? Car is stock at the moment until these kinks get worked out. Right now all they can tell me is to "let the car idle for 1 minute before driving", yet the issue always pops up when I'm waiting for the car to idle until the revs drop below 1k.

I just called my dealership about the oil change because I store my GTI for the winter months. VW warranty states that I must change the oil every 15000 km or 1 year whatever comes first.

Thanks for answering my question. (OBDelven mods).
Clear enough for me. My main intention was to turn features on that I have not original bought with the vehicle. (not necessarily changing how stuff works...). And following what you said I took that the dealer will most likely not even noticed.
I was a bit worried about it because I thought they might do something out of pure spite. Because when I order my new GTI I did some research and only choose enough extras to have all the Hardware in the car. Thinking that I dont want to hand out money (alot of it) for stuff that can then just be enable via software. And thats why I worried that maybe the dealer could lookup in some database what feature the car should have (using the VIN Nr) and if it doesn't match that they simply void the entire warranty no matter the reason I brought it in for.
    Anyways, thanks!

I'm confused by the new 2.0 TSI engine that is in the 2018 Passat and 2018 Tiguan. I see that it has 174hp. Is this the same engine as the 2.0T TSI 200hp engine with a different turbo? I was under the impression that the 1.8 TSI engine (170hp) was a smaller version of the 2.0TSI 200hp engine. Can you do an episode that straightens out the engines please?

When you post diy videos with coding obd11, why don’t you post the actual coding that can be used with the scan tool. Do you not know the actual coding or is it a different reason. I have a scan tool and wanted to do some of the coding like windows rolling up and down with the remote and want to code them manually. Thanks.

Anything to make your car better will void your warranty, they want your car to be the same as everybody else's..
