About Spider-Man 2 Movie:
Stan Lee's all-too-human superhero returns to the screen in this highly anticipated sequel to 2002's blockbuster hit Spider-Man. Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) is attempting to juggle college classes and his job as a photographer with the Daily Bugle while maintaining his secret life as costumed crime-fighter Spider-Man. "Peter, I can't survive without you" She really couldn't. She would have died like four times if it wasn't for Spider Man
As if anyone else in his relationship wouldn't be. That's the whole promise of Raimi's Spider-man. Those who are close to him easily get exposed to dangers, so he has to give up the things he wants the most such as normal life and love. These days I'd rather have so-called such a "damsel in distress" rather than some annoying, forced strong female characters that they shove in every movies/shows possible, only to show nothing but "gender equality" without any consequences in action. Just my opinion though

Nice interpretations, but this scene ends the movie how it started if you notice, with an MJ plane which represents Peter's desire at the beginning of the movie and how he earns it by the end of it. Seems like an unnecessary scene but it has a meaning, Raimi's trilogy were definitely the best out of all Spiderman's versions (except the 3rd, pretty weak movie)
"Isn't it about time someone saved your life?"
After literally being treated like a human punching bag throughout the entire movie while he's doing his best to stick his neck out for everyone else, this line really resonates.
There are lots of cool and innovative stuffs happened in The Dark Knight Trilogy but there is no emotional stakes, you don't really care about any characters.
But here in Spider-Man 2, it makes you care and feel.
The only problem with this is the line comes from Mary Jane who has been a key factor in his life being a living punching bag throughout this movie. Then given the fact that she says she guesses she's always known he's Spiderman, she has even less justification for the way she's acted toward Peter.
When I saw this in the theater, and every time since, when she says "Go get 'em, Tiger" I get goosebumps and a (good) shiver down my spine.

This film is a masterclass in the superhero film genre. The entire movie was driving to this one scene, giving a cathartic release when Peter experiences his own redemption by allowing Mary Jane into his life. Way to go, Raimi.

@ashok, you still think there was good character development in Spiderman 3? There was supposed to be a part 4 but 3 was a mess. But I'll give you a hint to the P4 story: MJ is kidnapped for the 4th time (!) by the new villain and Peter rescues her again. The end.

There is no other superhero romance like this one. Peter was so selfless in the way he handled his relationship with her and he suffered for it throughout the whole movie. And finally, at the end, this truly heroic Spider-Man gets the girl he’d always loved.
When Webb’s Gwen Stacy found out, it wasn’t very cool or moving, just surprising. MCU’s MJ found out in a sarcastic and meaningless way.
That’s just another aspect that shows how much better the original Spider-Man film adaptation was.

2:08 This brought me MAD goosebumps, after everything Peter has gone through from losing Uncle Ben, both his idols, having a friendship tarnished, and being an empty seat. He has an emotional scream, regaining hope that his life as Spider-Man will get better. This is the true definition of a heroic final swing, the golden hour filter from the Spider-Man PS5 game and the Danny Elfman soundtrack makes it even greater. I don’t see the MCU topping this swing anytime soon 🕷❤️

1:47 when the music starts to build, you can just feel the epicness. I'm sorry, but NOTHING will ever touch Raimi's Spiderman movies. The score is so beautifully written, and when the story finally comes to it's final arc with Pete & MJ coming together, and seeing her rush to the window to look out, waiting for it....... THAT IS SPIDERMAN. No one can convince me otherwise. Tom Holland is good, but Tobey was and always will be the best.

MJ has been with Flash, John and Harry and always needed for Peter to save her ass.
So a guy can date many girls and it's fine ....but she's a slut ? You'll notice that she only dated the first three because the girl had no self esteem at all.She was completely broken by her abusive father and tried to cover it up by being a party girl (Flash being a reflexion of her own father). She had no feelings for Harry but she thought that it would validate her as a person same thing with john (which is confirmed in that beautiful deleted scene). Mary Jane has a beautiful character arc throughout the first two films that a lot of people can relate to.
Gwen, on the other hand was a one dimensional character, a Mary Sue, who had no super power and still decided to put herself in danger several times just to make a point (that's she a strong female character) and she is just not...Sure, MJ got kidnapped several times but it was not her choice.

The ending of the first Spider-Man movie managed to be both incredibly triumphant and incredibly bittersweet. It feels so good to see that scene re-enacted here, but with a happier ending. One contrast between the two tones is that last time MJ was dressed for a funeral but here she's dressed for a wedding.
