    Wish list. 1. Medium format camera with new bayonet and build-out of new range of lenses in preparation for the Red tech crossovers. 2. FX: pre capture in raw, 30 fps in raw, extended dynamic range, continued improved auto focus, 16-bit colour, anti theft technologies, more megapixels

      Thanks NiKcan, Let's see what happens a few years down the line hopefully and not now. lol. To soon. Let's enjoy our Nikon Z9 for now. One thing I forgot to mention is the AF tracking. Let them boost the processor and program even stickier AF tracking to silence all the naysayers on Nikon AF tracking. Let's see. and Yes I would love to see more focus points used.

    I couldn’t agree with you more, Nikon has to up their game with the build. My LCD screen since day one won’t work on playback unless I pull the screen out. I also own the R3 and they are both amazing but the R3 has much better build quality.

    My wish list for any new higher end Nikon bodies:
    ▪ Higher resolution EVF with wider color gamut to better reproduce very saturated colors.
    ▪ A fully flippy screen with horizontal and vertical tilt similar to the one found in the Sony A7RV only with improved ruggedness.
    ▪ Either a larger top info screen or a couple of customizable buttons to use that space better.
    ▪ More RAW fps to keep up with higher-end competitor’s models along with better buffer to take advantage of the higher fps.
    ▪ Support for the new CFexpress Type B 4.0 card standard. This might be necessary actually to accomplish the last wish.
    ▪ Pre-capture in RAW.
    ▪ An actual Bracket burst mode that includes a shutter delay initiated by a shutter press or rear monitor screen touch so you don’t have to hold down the shutter button causing shake. I know there’s a workaround in the Interval Timer Shooting menu but it’s not the same.
    ▪ A reworked/re-thought shutter button with better tactile (firmer?) feel with more distinct points of half press and full press.
    ▪ Next generation of Nikon’s subject tracking and AF, of course.
    ▪ Possibly higher video frame rates, at least in HD and 4K. Don’t know if we really need 8K 120.
    ▪ Simplified and better organized updated menu system. A way to actually search for a particular setting wouldn’t hurt.
    ▪ A 50-ish megapixel global shutter would be incredible especially if it came with no compromises and maybe even significantly higher dynamic range than anything before it. If we can’t have that just yet, I would still like a small bump to a 50-ish MP stacked sensor with faster readout than the current sensor with better noise performance and better dynamic range. I would actually prefer that to a compromised global shutter sensor.
    Now, is this really too much to ask?🤤

    How about a voice recognition software that you can just speak into the camera and ask I want to change this or that and it finds the menu placement for you instantly so you can change things quickly. without having to remember where things are.

    Hello Vahagraph, I love my Z9 its a camera that never stops giving. Yes there are one or two thinks I would like changed, but not a lot. some just firmware I am sure. Like pre and post capture in RAW would be good, (Dose not have to go over 30fps in RAW over that in jpg would be good). You are so right about the eyecup dose need changing I lost my eyecup with in a month or two. But as luck would have it there is a company called Hoodman that make an very good alternative.

    The Canon R1 will be a completely different beast to the Z9 and in many ways will not compare or compete with it. It will be like their 1DX series a high speed low megapixel camera that is not built for the masses but for the professional who simply does not need all those megapixels. It will not be for me as l am one of the masses who would rather the R5ii or Z8.

    • @Vahagraphy
      @Vahagraphy  Před měsícem

      Z9 is also not one for the masses. right? lets see maybe the R1 has 60MP. maybe those rumor videos are wrong.

  • @felipeignacioortegaarriaga1121

    Again 45Mp and 50Mp? Shouldn’t it be a sensor with higher increase over 60Mp+, global shutter, high frame rates and wide dynamic range?

    • @Vahagraphy
      @Vahagraphy  Před měsícem

      Yes maybe. Howevr how High do we actually need to go without compromising Dynamic range , highlights and shadows and noise. I think 45MP is a perfect amount for a 35mm FX sensor. I love the Dynamic range of the Z9 now and I feel with ISO 64 I can shoot things with the ability to recover info like we couldn't in the past.

    If we charge our battery in camera, and something goes wrong with charging our new Z6III is Nikon going to replace our camera under warranty? I do not think so, Nikon should encourage their camera users to charge your cameras, battery out of camera only,with only a charger being the safest way to charge your cameras battery, instead of putting your camera at risk of being fried by surge or brownout with your electrical system, I think it’s responsible thing to do for camera manufacturers to supply a battery charger with all cameras they sell.

    Let’s not talk about z9 which is around USD6000. Let’s talk about affordable cameras like z5, z6, z7 or a high end APS-C that the birders can use. Canon never needed a high end camera as they cover all pricepoint with last technology in the affordable price range. Someone wanted an affordable camera under 3000 USD should look elsewhere. At those pricepoint Nikon should focus. They don’t have Canon as competitor but also Sony and Panasonic.a hybrid shooter needed video and stills capability which is entering the market has plenty of choices.

    • @Vahagraphy
      @Vahagraphy  Před měsícem +1

      You have a point there. I like the fact Nikon is on kind of an island by themselves with the Z8 and Z9. A camera with no shutter , stacked and 45MP. I like the fact everyone of these camera makers are on a different type of path like you said. AS far as content for more affordable options, I agree and I will make content using these cameras like a Zf and Z6. z50 Z30 for more affordable everyday photographer options out there. My best performing videos are reviews on less expensive gear. the 24-120mm review comes to mind.

    Nikon are in a mess at the moment they have no good cameras at an affordable level or even mid to pro level cameras. I personally think nikon is the dumbest camera company out there. They have lost to plot. The dumbest move they made was releasing the zf before the z6iii/z7iii they are loosing so many customers

    • @felm.974
      @felm.974 Před měsícem

      LOL... and you could run Nikon, better than Nikon? lol.. smh... Nikon will do whatever they want while they are making money, so you can call them dumb all you want.. while of thise companies get richer, we get poorer arguing about cameras and lenses and which is better, blah blah blah... lol...
      Nikon’s Financial Results Show Better Than Expected Performance
      Accordingly, the business segment recorded year-on-year increases in both revenue and profit because of higher average unit selling prices and the positive effects of the yen depreciation. As a result, the business segment recorded revenue of 137,682 million yen (up 20.2% year on year) and operating profit of 25,215 million yen (up 13.2% year on year),” explains Nikon’s consolidated financial results for the first half of the fiscal year, which ended on September 30, 2023.
      Nikon also says that overall growth trends in the market for interchangeable lens digital cameras are “greater than expected in the previous forecast.” While this potentially bodes well for all camera manufacturers, Nikon included, of course, it will be fascinating to see if the trend continues beyond this fiscal year. For its part, Nikon believes that demand for its cameras and lenses will hold steady or potentially grow. In response to the shifting trends, Nikon has updated its forecast to reflect the current strong sales performance of its mirrorless cameras.
      As Nikon points out, it is critical to consider not just pure sales numbers but the price of the purchased products. While companies like Nikon sell fewer cameras than they used to, due in large part to the shrinking consumer and entry-level market, camera makers can still achieve high total revenue and operating profit thanks in part to the relatively healthy enthusiast and professional market.
