    Awesome explain, only just bought a set of filters and now know how to fit them, this is especially helpful on sunny days as the light makes it impossible to view the scenery properly, thanks again for simplifying the procedure. all the best from Australia. Subcription added..............

      Thank you, glad you found it useful 👍 Yeah, it's definitely worth having a set of filters handy, especially in a sunny country. Thank you, much appreciated 🙏

  • @sanojayinikkalvasudevan2646

    Thank you so much. I bought this filter set two weeks ago but didn’t bother to try it until today when I was already in the site where I needed it. It was a bright sunny day and I was in a remote area with no internet and access to youtube. I had no idea how to remove the lens cap. My other drone (mavic mini) has a top of the lens fit so I just assumed mini3 pro should also be the same. I spent about 15 minutes trying to attach the filter and almost broke my gimbal. Thank you for the detailed video. After watching this, it was a cake walk

    I'm always terrified that I'm gonna break the sensitive gimbal when swapping out my filters. ...an anxiety that I haven't gotten over. ...especially when my hands are a little shaky from a hangover. lol

    Thanks Steven. I almost sent my filters back as I couldn't get them to fit. I had no idea the frame around the lens was removable!!!! Where do they tell you this??
    Went on easily after watching your vid.

    Hi thanks my first Drone when I was flying out everything turned white like it was Christmas and it was snow now I crashed my job on the filter, blew off or just the cover them just a cover of the lambs and everything so it again with this new drone, so I think I’m gonna buy the filters is this normal? It is a sunny day here in Arizona.

      Hi, if everything is overexposed to that degree I would assume you are set to 'pro' settings, so you would have to manage the shutter, ISO etc accordingly. If you switch to 'auto' it should compensate as best as it can. In very bright sun, ND filters can be very useful though in retaining much more of the highlight detail in your shots. You can switch on the 'zebra' option on the drone and then this will show overexposed areas with diagonal lines (this is not burnt into the footage, just a reference). Hope that helps.

    nice thanks so much for the info. have a question though. just got mine last week and after watching vids like these, I realized my mini3 pro gimbal is REALLY floppy and just and im noticing nobody else's looks like mine. it seems to function fine when booted up so I dont know, kinda strange.

    • @stevelitton
      @stevelitton  Před rokem +1

      No problem, glad you found it useful 👍 the gimbal will be like that when the drone is not powered up, that is normal. So long as it works well on each axis when it is powered up then you are all good. You will notice in the footage if there is an issue and the drone will also flag up a gimbal error.

    I flew with and without ND filter, I did not see the difference. then if you write cars, yes, it can strobe. I do have a mini 1. Is the aperture adjustable on your 3 mini? hardly.
    but the polarizer, yes, you probably need it. but it also needs to be twisted correctly in order for the effect to be.
    why did you buy mini3, than mini2 did not fit?

    • @stevelitton
      @stevelitton  Před 2 lety

      It's an f1.7 fixed aperture on the camera but ND filters definitely help reduce overexposed areas, especially skies. You do need to use manual settings for them to be worth it though. But I find them useful for both photography and video. Went Mini 3 because I wanted 10bit 4k 60fps and I hate that old style controller where you have to use your phone. It's just not practical for me, the new controller with the screen just makes life so much easier.

    • @lnuponom2678
      @lnuponom2678 Před 2 lety

      @@stevelitton So to reduce overexposure, it is enough to take exposure compensation to minus. If the aperture does not close, then there is no point in fixing the shutter speed. Yes, using the selection method, you can reduce the shutter speed as much as possible, but I did not see the difference, there was no strobe without a filter.
      Why do you need 60 frames, slow people down later? If about the smoothness of the video, then mini 1 and 30 smoothly write everything. 10 bits is of course interesting, but there is such a mini matrix, are 10 bits honest there ....
      I have a separate phone for the remote control :).

    • @stevelitton
      @stevelitton  Před 2 lety

      You can only go so far with exposure comp though. I think if you don't shoot in really bright sunlight then it's not so much of an issue. Ideally I would just shoot at sunset and sunrise as that always looks the most visually appealing but client work doesn't always work that way. I also like being able to slow down footage in certain situations and not being limited by a low frame rate. The phone controller for me is just too clunky with the app and wires hanging out. I just like the simplicity of the new remote.

    • @lnuponom2678
      @lnuponom2678 Před 2 lety

      @@stevelitton I understand you liked the control panel :).
      I did not understand what you wanted to say about compensation for exposition. It always works when you need to remove overexposure.
      Mini 1 makes a lot of noise at sunset and sunrise, I don’t know how it is on mini 3. In principle, for that kind of money it’s better to buy a used mavic about some kind, at least there is an inch matrix and less noise. Although it's probably all about grams and drone registration. But for now, I don’t understand how the mini 3 is fundamentally different from the mini 2. Except perhaps with obstacle detection sensors, unless of course they are needed.

    • @stevelitton
      @stevelitton  Před 2 lety +1

      It may be a bit different on the Mini 2 due to the lower frame rates and higher fixed aperture but on the Mini 3 I find it difficult to work with lower shutter speeds in strong sunlight. I'm used to having to work with noisy footage from MFT cameras, so not too worried about that but overall I find the images pretty clean. Yeah I am in the UK, so any over 250g can be a real hassle for certain types of work. It's just an all around upgrade, better controller, better battery life, obstacle avoidance is a massive one, camera rotation is a great upgrade for socials, slightly less noisy in flight, 10bit, 48MP photos, better range, better video transmission feed, better frame rates. In my opinion it's a really good iteration. Maybe not worth it if you already the Mini 2 though. I do a lot of work that ends up across a variety of platforms, so for me right now the GH6 and the Mini 3 Pro are my go-to shooting options.
