Tiny home challenge, part 1 - Before Eikthyr - Valheim

- I set myself a challenge: to build a tiny home base for each stage of the game. The foundation needs to be 6 meters by 8 meters (3x4 standard floor tiles). No digging is allowed, but second floors are, and they may be a little bigger than the ground floor. Alcoves for fireplaces are also allowed.
I do build in creative mode, because it's easier to see, but all of the homes are designed to be easy to build in survival.
The rules:
No digging
Ground floor must be 3x4 standard floor tiles (6x8 meters)
Fireplaces are allowed to extend into an external alcove
1 extra floor is allowed, which may jetty out to a 4x5 floor space
Materials are restricted to the game stage (i.e. no metals or fine wood before Eikthyr, no iron before Elder, etc.)
I put no restrictions on the garden plants.
The village paths are also exempt from the rules
Materials used:
751 Wood
72 Core wood
25 Flint
20 Leather scraps
9 Deer hide
5 Stone
4 Resin - Hry
I've done the under-bed storage, but the floor box storage is next level brilliant!! Thanks so much!
Tiny home BEFORE EIKTHYR
me: okay okay lets see
* starts with Core Wood.
okay okay forget it
It does involve getting lucky, and finding pines on the very edge of the black forest. Fair enough if it's too much risk. I'm usually fully upgraded before I take on Eik, so it's as good as it gets before the copper grind anyway.
I did have to look this up, but yes you can cut down core wood (pine trees) with the stone axe, and honestly venturing into the black forest is something many people do well before eikthyr, so I see no reason why core wood can't be used in a build labelled "before eikthyr"
I've seen floor storage before, but using it as a full floor design was awesome! Such a pretty house.
cute and functional! I'm gonna use these tiny houses for my outposts in every biome. ❤️
Best micro house design I've seen. Love the chest floor idea.
Only extra thing you could have done would be to add a sitting log for an extra point of comfort.
Can't believe I missed that. Facepalm lol
I love this, very efficient use of space
Absolutely amazing craftsmanship as always!
I usually will make a tiny "cram shack" for before eikthyr with everything necessary then l empty it when I no longer need it and make it my brew shack
I usually have a similar strategy. My Eikthyr house becomes my portal hut for the standing stones, once I find a spot for my mid game base
Fianlly an awesome small home design! I plan on building small for the Mistlands update (our group did massive housing for launch) and I am using this for inspiration. Thanks!
Lovely as always. You definitely know ur stuff, looking forward to seeing the next one!
This was amazing to watch!!! Nice job.
Looking very cool!
floor storage is great, I'll use it to have a lot of place to empty my pockets xD!
omg i love this idea. it ended up so pretty too!!!!
чисто из уважения к такому же вальхеймщику лайкос тебе за мастер класс. ну и подписка конечно! много идей дал для моей деревни!
Can't wait to give this a proper go.
Amazing build! Would be too sad if a 2star troll went there
Impressive, nice work.
This is SOOO good. I'm building it right now.
very very cool build mate xD
Funny how builders dont think it says "before eikthyr" and you have cultivator and corewood
Core wood can be cut with the starter axe. You just have to be brave enough to go after it.
As for the garden, it states in the description that garden plants and village paths are exempt from the rules. All challenge buildings went into a single village, and I wanted it to look both cohesive and attractive, so that was the compromise I chose.
I did have to look this up, but yes you can cut down core wood (pine trees) with the stone axe, and honestly venturing into the black forest is something many people do well before eikthyr, so I see no reason why core wood can't be used in a build labelled "before eikthyr"
Lovely pretty house👍🏻
That’s wild!
exactly what I was after, a reasonable build !
Roof is striking
This was so amazing to watch, really relaxing too :). 1 thing I noticed trhough is that you use those big logs, the ones made out of Core Wood. Aren't those only available later on in the game?
Core wood can be cut with the stone axe. As long as you don’t run into any trolls or brutes, you can get it five minutes after you start the game.
@@sorchaazuragaming4765 Oh wow, I didn't even know that :D! Cheers!
@@sorchaazuragaming4765 mind blown....i was under the impression you needed a bronze axe like finewood....for real learning all kinds of stuff today...much love
I would suggest getting at least a flint axe before attempting to get core wood as they will hear you if you take too long to chop down the tree...
nice :D
realy nice, bad i think, is time for Aekthir. And i think, it is no easy drop to corn wood, or? :D Styl than for my insirations.
Wow.. over engineered the roof decorations but stunning!
muy lindo la verdad
By what command you spawn this little bush on the left side of the house ?
If you are using console commands, the code would be shrub_2
There is also shrub_2_heath for a more yellow-green version of the same bush
I actually used a gardening mod for the landscaping, for convenience sake.
@@sorchaazuragaming4765 Thank you soooo much ! I appreciate it !
For some reason the fireplace keeps turning on and off on this build. Any ideas?
The smoke is probably getting hung up on the angled beams in the back. You can try removing the bottom set. I’ve built this one a few times, and sometimes the fire works fine, and other times it misbehaves 🤔
@@sorchaazuragaming4765 Thank you for the swift response. Indeed it's weird. Sometimes works if the door is open and cuts off when I close it. Good thing it wasn't just me. I'll look around
cant you only get core wood witha bronze axe so how would it be before eikthyr
Core wood can be cut with the stone axe. If you are brave enough, you can get it five minutes after you start the game.
Fine wood does need the bronze axe, though.
@@sorchaazuragaming4765 You can get fine wood before the bronze axe, but it's a lot of effort. Essentially, you crash beech logs into the birch trees until they break (which takes several beech trees), then repeat the process on the birch logs - or crash the birch logs onto rocks. Very time consuming, not really worth the effort to do deliberately, but a nice bonus if you are also needing a lot of regular wood and the trees happen to fall in the right direction.
@@PhoenyxAshe Yeah, I've died several times while log rolling for fine wood lol
@@PhoenyxAshe or you let a troll smash the tree for you!
Total build costs?
751 wood
72 core wood
25 flint
20 leather scraps
9 deer hide
5 stone
4 resin
@@sorchaazuragaming4765 TY :) 😀
@SorchaAzura Gaming
Would be amazing if could get costs for all builds :)
I am creating my own village/town and am incorporating several youtube builds mixed with a few of my own ideas :)
@@davidcox1616 All the tiny house builds now have material lists in the video descriptions 🙂
Thanks for reminding me to get off my behind and do that
bro why do u ahve things from the mountain biome when it says "before eikthyr" in the title.. kinda sus
It states in the description that the landscaping is exempt from the rules. It’s purely aesthetic. The same is true for all builds in the series. The rules are for the structure only
I really like looking at the house but who cares about looking how it was built, especially if you're using cheat mode?
You are more than welcome to skip to the reveal, if that’s all you want to see. There are tons of people that do want to see the process. As for using console commands, the devs themselves have endorsed it, and have actively made it more user friendly for the players. “Cheating” only applies if you are misrepresenting what you are doing. I am completely open about my use of commands, because I enjoy the creative process. How I enjoy my game is not for you to decide.
