you do better on a "worse" run because you are slower. the multiplier stops around 70mph, go any faster and you're wasting zone length / not spending enough time in the zone. 70mph and as wide and sideways as possible is like the only things that matter, hence the meta that does exactly that. People make these actually proper drift cars like yours and go too fast, look way better doing it, but are upset they peak with lower scores.
But with more speed/power, you are able to slide for longer without having to transition more. This is especially necessary in hot wheels as they have very long turns

Yeah, I noticed something was wonky when I was drifting a B class car for fun and beat my PB and all my friends in their S2 cars. Slow and steady in the zone with lots of wheel spin seems to be the recipe for success.

The hot wheels drift zones are strange. Fun, but strange. Some of the straights/corners are insanely long
Have you noticed since hotwheels release the AI is broken? I'm seeing drivatars breaking for no reason on open straight aways and just now doing the extreme E seasonal some are outright starting in reverse.

The angle of the car and the track, you use sound to know when too switch gears etc

The 4th drift zone could be better uphill, if you take the first corner with a single big entry maybe? I will try by myself next week

just a suggestion because i’m a point drifter and i also aim for top 1000 and Manual w/clutch is a god send for point drifting but that’s my opinion

Use Barry Sniff hot wheels tune its the correct tune for hot wheels expansion
Im fairly new to FH5, use to play FH4 a lot and just lagged on making the switch to FH5... gotta say the drifting in fh5 is much more fun than in 4 but one thing ive noticed in 5 that is incredibly annoying is when you have a skill streak going, your drifting and the streak ends mid drift. This annoys the crap out of me, ive had some large skill streaks and this happen to me. Ill be drifting car is sideways im in a long drift, i stop paying attention to the counter up top and then it just ends as if i was driving straight. Anyone else notice this?
Yeah, it has this thing about angle. If you stay at same angle too long, it doesn't think you're drifting anymore. It helps to add some ebrake , change angle, or even hit barriers or small trees. If it's busy adding up things you hit on road edge, it has less time to think of canceling drift score.

Haha, so i did all of these the other day and all my scores are like idk 17k -10k off to urs. I guess I'm quite ok in terms of actuall racing but I'm definetly not a good drifter. But I'm still curios if ur using clutch (I do belive u do but I'm not sure at all)?
he's playing with a controller as far as I know so nope, without pedals at all hahaha

He is not using clutch, you can see it in the difficulty settings. Unless you can use it while only being in normal manual mode.

@@vReLx Trackmania doesnt need a big PC. For Forza, impossible to play on PC, so its still on xbox.
ngl goosh you’re not missing out. plenty of people have used exploits such as going into reverse and or transitioning tonnes of times through one corner and smacking from wall to wall so it’s impossible to tell what the highest scores are. on top of that, imo tho zones are actually quite bad to drive on due to the grippiness of the tracks so you often need to transition when you’re going through a bend.
