Enjoy the emphasis you give to the owner. Everyone has an interesting story to tell about their bikes and their lives. And you have a near infinite resource to tap into!! Keep ‘em coming, Ross!

@@BikerTorque it's a pretty damn good bike, wherever I go other bikers come and take a look at it. I've done a few tours of nsw and Vic, about 14500km on the clock now, and it's been very reliable. As a beginner bike I reckon it's great.

It's novel and a pleasure to see a woman who really knows her bike and who can maintain and repair it herself!
I also appreciate her realistic view of the demands on a rider's skills to stay safe.

Smart woman ! I used to teach women how to do basic-maintenance on cars also .This is a very enjoyable vid, with sensible tips for new riders . I ride a couple of 650's, yam-xs and kwaka-W , plus my old 81 XV1000. If an RE650 comes my way, I wouldnt say no.. amazing bikes . Dave NZ

Great old bike, I actually have a 1949 350cc Stroud, so it's a brand I know and love. Anyway, back to the RE, yes some great mods and the paint job on it is excellent.

Perhaps a Stage 2 cam from Hitchcocks & S&S high compression pistons & clutch upgrade & 650 won't be a tourqe monster & keep smoothness of gearbox.A 865 is tourqe monster & the smooth R.E 650 gearbox becomes clunky & not as smooth.Could put a Recluse auto gearbox with manual overide where you just leave throttle wide open & foot change for ultra fast gear changes & flick a switch & normal manual again.Work on 650 & 865 & smooth gearbox abit on 865 being more beefed up than standard Rekluse upgraded clutch.
