In this replay, Shima easily farming the BBs because there are no counter options. Radar is not powerful enough to counter torpedo DDs.

They are not changed yet, the change is for a later patch.

This Shima player is a really skilled one for me, because if you go to see minute 15.32 you can see he is trying to set on fire the Montana enemy ship, so the other player is obligated to use in damage control consumable to extinguish the fire, after this happen the Shima player shots the Torps so if the hit they are going so get the enemy ship a flooding, the enemy ship it doesn’t have damage control consumable so it has to take damage from the flooding. For me this is an intelligent move!
That's basic knowledge. I am not even a good player. The only thing I'm decent at in WoW is BB's and only slightly. But you never extinguish 1 fire. Not with that HP. Also there was a smoke and it was obvious that DD fired at Montana. I would expect torpedoes. And in this you can see how good of the Shima player is. Since the torps were aimed, after faking out Montana with guns to turn. If Montana stayed on course, the torps would have missed her. So very good play on Shima's part.
Once more, awesome dd battle, no carriers. Such a strange coincidence 🤔

How is he aiming the torps without selecting the BBs? just guessing?
I think after playing a lot he can calculate where the ship will be going
It's also related that the "number of players aiming at that ship" if you notice he also aim for another ship and point for another. Usually players when they see/not see that number act differently. If you are not spotted and suddenly "1" enemy ship is aiming at you its usually a dd (if aiming with the guns, it does not apply with torps aiming)
it might also be a replay bug

So I've been trying to compare between this line and the Swedish line
This line has more torps that does more damage, has better concealment (i think), and has smoke screen.
The Swedish line has really fast torps and heal.
Since you all have more experience than me: Which is better? (maybe I should say playstyle but I think they are supposed to be the same)

i prefer the shima. i don't have the halland, but the tier 9 ostergotland. With fast torps u have more chance that a spotted torp is gonna hit because the enemy ship have less time to react, but the damage is ridiculous low. i think that u need to hit at least 3-4 european torps to deal the same dmg of a shimakaze's one. Hitting torps in my opion is all about being stealthy and predict correctly; and of course u also need to find players that don't play a lot of attention. Fast torps are great against cruiser, because of their fast rudder.
what u forgot in your comparison is the high difference in anti-air gun. An enemy carrier(CV) will not focus an halland, whereas he would love to strike on a shimakaze
Shima is torp ninja. Halland offers more utility: competitive AA, better torp reload for screening, and better DD duelist with strong guns and heal. Halland lacks torp damage and smoke. In this game, smoke wasn't that useful except for dueling the potato Halland in the beginning. Shimas are also much faster and have slightly better concealment.
@@blusafe1 with the legendary module, shima's reload time is really similar to that of the halland. 103 seconds if i Remember correctly
I just like the really fast sweede torps, hard for bb to dodge.
also, in current meta with CVs and radar teaming up to kill smoked dd, I like the stronk swede AA.

Launch torpedoes, set up smoke, start shooting = I'm here, I've launched torpedoes, do evasive maneuvers. Not skills
i've seen people make it work: they launch with a short lead, then they smoke, shoot, and the enemy turns into the smoke and eat the torps lol
@@adriandreamwalker1027 Yeah, you basically fake them into making a turn, so they eat torps. Although the player here was both skillful and lucky. Or at least lucky that he had idiot opponents. Beginning with Halland that was 1st kill, at least 3 BB's have used their Damage Con, just before he hit them with torpedoes. Which was especially stupid for Kremlin, who could see another wave of torpedoes incoming 2 seconds later and stopped flooding in between. And Montana that decided to stop 1 fire.

Lots of potatoes on enemy sides, rpf alone would tell you a dd was tracking you and about to torp you a good players take evasive action like turning away possible dd position also making a zigzag and slowing down sometimes work. And this dd player not using auto aim for takes time to master. Knowing how to use minimap will greatly improve your hits and kill.
Knowing when and not to use autoaim your torps is good. My experience I use autoaim when enemy is below 8km range, this technique is good.especially for shima players thw more torps you have greater chance of a hit.

OMFG, what is this guy doing??? Smokes when he doesn't need to, doesn't shoot from behind islands but chooses to shoot when not in cover. Pokes torps at everyone but doesn't finish them off. Runs from one side of the map to the other? He could've rolled up the whole right flank~!
This replay shows exactly how BB have absolutely no counterplay vs DD players, that just complain about CV because air spotting "ruins" the absurd permanent invisiblity they enjoy.
Being as close as 6 km from a target and torp the shit out of it for all the match long it's "fair gameplay" for DD instead..
@Joe Dim You dont know what you are talking about... A BB can switch course , variate speed and done....none can torp it...Only idiots going in a straight line and steady speed when they know there are 3 shimas in the enemy team can get torped...And there are radars and hydros to counter torp dds.. Its just that in these game the enemy DDs and BBs were potatoes and didnt know what to do and where to go.. he wasnt even torping in multiple options per ship.. One salvo , 4/5 hits on BBs means the BBs are brainddead.....
@@spiliarakos I play CV but also BB, and BY FAR i feel more helpless fighting a stalker DD who enjoy permanent stealth then facing a CV of my same tier.
I can see the planes coming, i can manouver, can reinforce AA and use fighters to fend off planes. You can't fend off torps, you can only try keep dodging, and dodging.. until you don't and just die from a DD you'll NEVER see if he plays safe.
BB has far less counterplay to DD then on CV, and having ships enjoy such permanent invisibility even while they are close in at 6 Km attacking others it's just nosense.

All my DDs as a T10(have them all) have 63-70+% WR and over 2.2k avg XP even with CVs only exception is the Z so no, CVs aren't OP or a problem with the game. It's idiots who don't change how they play vs them and the CCs who bitch constantly with the sheeple who follow them. I equate the CV "outrage" to the libtards who cry all the time here in the US, you're all useless.

Have you heard about a particular DD named khabarovsk? xP. Or Harugumo which is as big as a cruiser.
harugumo is a really good ship
yueyang has a radar so it's usefull for teamplay (clan or ranked)
Z-52 has good AP
khabarovsk still has good guns and a good bait potential

First of all european dd's are overrated. They are mediocre at best. Second of all, cv players have one mission and one mission only: hunt dd's. They don't just fail miserably, they also don't know their role in the game. I play kagero a lot, 5.4 detection I often sneak behind enemy lines and cv's don't even know what hit them.
Any ship with RDF will easily counter you sneaking behind an enemy line by alerting the CV, at which point he bombs you into oblivion. Secondly, Euro dds are hardly overrated. They can scout much better than most other DDs because they don't have to worry about CVs easily harassing them. Their long range, narrow spread torps are also excellent at dislodging defensive lines and causing floods.
