I saw the same questions being asked in the comments, over the years this video has been around before I got to it. I’ve had to figure out solutions so hopefully I can offer a little help…
FOAM-Green foam blocks from craft stores or anywhere else you can get fake flowers is fine, but in outdoor containers it can be tricky. Kansas has CRAZY WIND so I’ve had to stake it down with wooden skewers like you’d use on the grill.
There is a spray foam you can get at any of the big chain hardware stores. If you don’t have access to those types of stores, I’m sure Amazon has a product you can use. It’s actually spray foam insulation so it STAYS where you put it. In fact, when you see the can, you’ll probably realize you’ve seen the insulation around various pipes and never thought twice about it. At least I did. lol. It’s affordable, durable and weatherproof. One warning, once it sets up and cures, it’s staying in place. If you put anything in a bit crooked, like a topiary or small tree, you’re going to have to break the foam around the item, reposition it and refoam it into place. If you foam directly into your large container, take the time to get everything exactly how you want it and be sure the foam doesn’t get on whatever you’re “planting”. If you like to change things up from season to season, putting arrangements into smaller containers and placing them into larger containers is the fastest and easiest option. The drawback it storing your arrangements from season to season. BUT, if you have the storage space, I highly recommend “planting” this way!
FLOWERS-Hobby Lobby has GREAT fake flowers! They last for SEVERAL season, are on sale every other week and depending on which ones you get, no one will ever know the difference! It’s TRULY worth the investment to get GOOD fakes. I’ve picked through every store in my area and found good fake Boston ferns at Dollar Tree, (they also have amazing solar lanterns for $5!) as well as Walmart. You just have to be willing to dig through, and possibly under 😬, the racks to find the amount of smaller pics you may need. I’ve also searched resale shops for arrangements and wreaths I can take apart.
*If you’re not in the states or don’t have a Hobby Lobby near you, their website is user friendly. However, I haven’t had to return anything yet, so I can’t speak to their service should you need to return something. Dollar Tree and Walmart also have sites that are easy to use, but Dollar Tree requires you buy in larger, bulk amounts.
WINTER GREENERY!- Because I do all the container flowers for my kids’ small school and I’m glaringly cheap and picky, I stumbled upon a great way to get winter greenery in large quantities as well as various types and sizes. TAKE APART THRIFT STORE CHRISTMAS TREES AND GARLANDS! 🤦🏻♀️🤯 If you have the storage space to be able to plan ahead, you can buy off season and get an even bigger discount.

Absolutely..I have done indoor flower arrangements and I've hot glued the foam to the bottom and glued them together. I also glued the moss I wanted to know if I do the same but she skipped that part
Do you have a tip for me in Hawaii where we have quite a bit of wind? How would I secure the flowers in my hanging baskets? I think I need something heavy to hold them in but I'm not sure what. I am planning to buy the Coco filled wire baskets. I'm pretty sure if I just stick the foam in there the wind will blow the whole thing out💞😀
