- We all know CVs are broken as hell but I doubt you saw this before.
I have seen something similar before long time ago but this is ridiculous and beyond laughable.
How can anyone call this anything but broken, overpowered and unsuitable is beyond me and any reason comprehensible to me.
Rockets that have entire map range and go mach 7 xD
WoWS community is trying to boycott current clan battles season because of this broken class, meanwhile WG is pretending CVs are fine xD

Imagine playing that Bismarck. You looking at enemies to shoot, and out of nowhere rockets hit you even though you don't see any planes.
The good thing those Rockets make nearly no dammage to BB s.

Yea and out of nowhere you get sunk by a dd with one torp salvo... instead of 2k missile dmg from (also) nowhere. Difference is, you barely feel the 2k...

We all know Russian cvs will be guided missile cruisers. Instead of flying planes, you'll just fly the missiles into their targets.

Obviously the Rocket planes will be intercontinental nuclear missiles, and the dive bombers will contain nukes.

forget slingshotting, mountain sniping is the new meta
The Last two patches they increased cooldown between drops and decreased AP bomb damage, so slingshotting is no longer viable. Mountain sniping is hard though, relies on there being mountains.
Mountain sniping is nothing new. CV been doing that since the rework. Is just that this method is so weak, slingshotting did 3x more damage than mountain sniping. Not much people do mountain sniping anymore because you contribute to the team more on normal runs. That is why when Flambass react at to this as "so good", I actually did the Steven Colbert eyebrow rise because it is not.
@@Oyamada13 i only do mountain sniping when dealing with AA DD to denied their cap. Other than that just normal run.

This has been a thing for a while WeeGee just doesnt care like back when slingshot was first found out. However unlike slingshot this is nowhere near as predictable or practicable
WG be like: "Slingshot mechanics is only for very skilled players and it's almost impossible not to lose planes"

this isnt new.. reticle on rocketplanes been like this with islands ever since cv rework, works for all nations rocket planes.
The thing is not to that extent, and it seems ap rocket dont lose penetration over distance
@@devilman117m3 Well, to be faaaaiiiiirr, penetration is based on velocity and mass. So if the mass is relatively static, as long as the rocket is still under fueled flight, it shouldn't lose penetration.

Otherwise if its a velocity base, with the speed they went on that bismarck they could've end up as citadel onto the BB haha
You're right this isn't new... but since the German cv introduction the aiming reticle has been dramatically exaggerated... before it was barely there no more than 2-3km
Flambass you should do a no plane loss challenge next time you get Two brothers in your CV and send replay to WG (name it "CVs are fine")

@Flambass if you wouldn’t mind pinning this I’d appreciate it. Anyways I wanted to know just how fast those rockets travelled so I did some measurements. Using a stopwatch I timed the distance between when the rockets where released and when they impacted Bismarck. That time came out to 3.16s then looking at the distance between yourself and the ships came out to 10km. Using V=D/t I calculated that the rockets travelled at a speed of 3,164.5m/s that’s 11,392.2 kmh or in other words those rockets travel at a speed of Mach 9! That’s about the same speed that modern day missiles fly at! Those rockets fly faster than every single shell in the game! If these things were real they’d be capable of penetrating the belt armour of any battleship in the game, fuck cruisers they’d go in one side, out the other and keep on going.

In my lower tier ships I pretty much stick to co-op at this point. I always see 2 CV per side in my tier 4-6 ships. And they nearly always come top of the team.

I knew about this mechanic but never apply it this way. I rarely use attack over high altitude island as it’s hard to time it correctly.
not to mention have any eyes at the right time, botched so many shots due to people going dark

You can absolutely do it with any other CVs, just need some times to learn which rock is good for which range. I've been doing this in my CV for half a year. This work best with USN rocket.

Technically you could always do this, I've pulled it off a few times in my Hak and Midway. For them however the aiming circle for rockets doesnt go as far out as the germans does

Im not such a DD player more lik BB/cruiser but I love playing DDs every day they are the ones with most fun but nowadays.... Too much threats after the Italians came out and many updates later
I've used this effect to shoot rockets at strange angles before, but it had never occurred to me to turn it into a sniper shot at long range. Well played Flambass. :)
Funny as it is, this probably needs fixed. Implementing a range limit seems the obvious solution.

Since you were wondering, yes you can do that in ALL CVs. The germans are the most extreme though, which is kind of a double edged sword of course. Yes you can snipe from far away but next to an island you struggle to use them. It doesn't have to be a huge hill either. It is more a theoretical skill.
Can confirm that you can also do this with rocket planes from other nations, and I've been able to use the planes like this for a while now (since the 0.80 carrier rework I believe).
A guy above said he'd been doing it with Midway, apparently very situational but also hilarious

Oh before I forget you can also do it with torpedos but that is way harder (the aiming reticule will not go further, but the torpedos will take a longer time to hit the water because they physically fly to their position) which means you can torp drop from further away.
I want a Soviet "year of design/inspiration" CV with ICBM's for secondaries!!!

This has been a thing since the rework. Most CV main already knew about this its just stupid hard to use so we dont do it all that often. But when we have that chance and pull it off we laugh like flambass did the first time he pulled it off. #CurbYourAA

You seem to forget that torpedoes also have wheels :))) if you drop someone, and they land on an island, they still hit the target... because reasons...

Little known fact Flambass invented the air-to-sea cruise missile.
How did he aim? I'm not seeing any cursor/ aim symbol.
Technically, ap rockets usually do not have a self destruction fuse, so after firing, the rocket would follow a ballistic arc until they impact.Depending on altitude and angle the range obviously varies, with a 45° angle providing furthest range. However rocket accuracy is rather slow due to its low flight speed compared to a conventional shell.

those rockets on Bismarck were launched from 10km away and they hit in 3 seconds after launch... that is 3333 m/s - 11998,8km/h, in other words, Mach 9,7... what the f*ck are those rockets powered by???? warp drive??? gg WG... just what we needed.. CVs with 15km range rockets travelling at almost 10x the speed of sound... :o))))

This is how the Bismarck had its rudder hit by a torpedo from a plane before it got sunk. Guy in a plane went up mount Rushmore because mountains make planes fly higher then handthrew the torpedo into the Bismarck from there.
