Alms Giving Ceremony At Home

Normally the Buddhists and some of the non-Buddhists also understand the merits they are gaining out of alms giving ceremonies. But some of the non-Buddhists, who do not know about these kinds of ceremonies, may be very much interested to know. When we invite venerable monks for alms, we wash their feet while entering the house. Buddhists who understand the merits their gaining out of giving alms to monks, they get lots of purity deposits in their minds. When they are in passive, these thoughts will comes out from their minds and make them much more pleasure to gain more and more purity deposits in their minds. Consequently, thought of action will tend them to give more and more alms.
