    For all you people complaining about people not wearing gloves.....I have almost 3 decades in the food industry. Washed bare hands are absolutely as sanitary as wearing gloves, and much safer for workers using equipment.

    • @amatteroflogic
      @amatteroflogic Před 4 lety +16

      phillydragonfly how is putting candies into the box a dangerous activity ? Only the workers who are using the machinery throughout the video have gloves on. Your logic doesn’t apply to that scenario.

    • @pisceanqueen1
      @pisceanqueen1 Před 4 lety +27

      I guess it's just that current health code standards are very strict about the use of gloves in food production. Of course, not every place keeps high standards. Personally, if someone were building my sandwich at Subway and not wearing gloves, I would be grossed out. But is that because I'm so used to seeing the gloves? Or because I don't trust the hygienic principles of a complete stranger? Probably both 😆

    • @pisceanqueen1
      @pisceanqueen1 Před 4 lety +7

      @Amber Sullivan All three restaurants I've worked at routinely used gloves, sani-station practices and regular hand washing 😬 Edit: guess I sound pretty dumb

    • @phillydragonfly
      @phillydragonfly Před 4 lety +64

      Gloves get soiled, too. Gloves will do nothing if you’ve touched your hair, face, nose, or mouth while wearing them. Cough or sneeze into a glove, and the effect is exactly the same as on skin. Gloves need to keep getting changed over and over and over again in order to prevent cross-contamination. They never are because gloves give employees a false sense of security. “I’m wearing gloves. I’m sanitary!” It’s much easier and safer to simply enforce hand washing. Gloves also desensitize fingertip sensation. You just can’t feel what you’re doing. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve cut my fingers, or have seen coworkers slice off their fingertips while wearing gloves.

      @@mts1793 at some degree yeah but u would be surprised how many people aren't deft enough (for the lack of a better word) to even use molds properly.
      My mother used to have this crafts and gifts store and it took her some time to find people who were able press a mold and get figurines correctly out of then because there were lots of girls who would just sit, do Jack or do it wrong and with a straight or crying face say "I can't do it / I don't know how to do it / I'm bad at this" and quit the job the same day when they only nedded to put lets say clay in some mold and press it with enough strength to get a flower or a leaf and do that just enough of times to always have the stuff on stock for when u needed something to decorate a doll or the likes.
      Basically it was a sitting, easy job with various amenities and a disturbingly high amount of people failed at it so ya know, is not "easy" for everyone I guess.

    • @jameskoch9567

      It's actually a specialized field called industrial automation. A lot of machines are programmable and with the right nozzles/heads/whatever--is-in-use can do a surprisingly diverse range of tasks. In some cases a machine is commissioned to speed up a process and an industrial automation company's engineers will custom design a solution, especially if its a weirdly unique task.
