  • Adolescents everywhere face multiple challenges to their health and wellbeing, not least to their sexual and reproductive health. The research group Participatory Research at McGill (PRAM) from the Department of Family Medicine is collaborating with local partners to understand factors contributing to adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) in Bauchi State, Nigeria, quantify the factors and ASRH outcomes, and discuss and act on the findings. This is a multimethod study that includes engagement of adolescents themselves: to identify ASRH priorities, gather and analysis local data, and co-design solutions to priority concerns. Prof. Cockcroft outlines the methods used to engage adolescents and other stakeholders as partners and the results so far. It poses the question: could these methods be adapted to engage adolescents in the Montreal family medicine context?
