Replace Battery on 2007-2014 GMC Yukon XL How to Diagnose Chevy Suburban Tahoe Cadillac Escalade

This same method applies to 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 Chevy Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade, Avalanche, Silverado, Yukon XL. I test the battery in the video with a multi meter and then replace with a 615 cca group size h6 everstart plus battery.

Very useful video, thanks. Two safety comments: (1) The negative (black) lead to the battery should be disconnected first, and reconnected last. (2) Wearing a metallic watch while working on electrical system (car or home) is not a good idea!

Haha thanks. Negative first and last. Got it. Yeah I've welded my finger before that had a ring on it that arked. Rip that ring of as fast as I could and along with it came a big part of my heated up finger. What's the fun in not having some injuries when wrenching?

H6 battery. CCA up to you on that size. I think I put a 750 in being in a cold climate but you could get by with a bit less maybe.

If your getting 14 volts it shouldn't make a clicking sound

9 volts is too dead and will click

I didn't have any issues. The battery was pretty quickly changed once I noticed it so didn't go flat for any long periods of time. Not sure if that's what your'e referring to or not.

Test your battery. If it's old it's probably needing a replacement
