A Weekday of South Western services at Weybridge, heading around the South West of the United Kingdom. Trains include:
- South Western Railway Class 158s, 159s, 444s, 450s, 455s, 456s, 458s, 707s
Also includes Brand New Class 701 on Delivery from Derby Litchurch Lane to Wimbledon.
Filmed on 30th June 2020, Between 11.00 and 12.15.

Train Numbers - e.g. 43032 or 800110 - These are train numbers which are specific to that train. No trains can be numbered the same. Locos are 5 digit numbers where the first two numbers are the class of train e.g. 67010 would be a class 67. Set Number - e.g. WB64 or NL04 - These are semi-permanent loco hauled coach formations which are kept together for formalities. The first two letters usually indicate the maintenance depot responsible e.g. OC is Old Oak Common, LA is Laira. The number indicates the rake number.

one of my local stations i use this station to get to and from college, i normally get a choice of desiro or 455 to go home on, lovely catch of the 701 being delivered! and some lovely motor sounds from the sprinters

StarlifeStudios, I recommend going to the southeastern stations when the 376s are halfway through being replaced by class 707s.
As far as I am aware, the 376s aren’t being replaced at all. The 707s will likely part replaced 465s/466s instead. I will be around when it happens 😃
@@StarlifeStudios whatever gets replaced, I'm just happy that the 707s have a new home. But il be sad if it is the 465/466 getting replaced as those are my childhood trains( but I'm only 9, so they are my normal trains really)

Thoes 12 car (3*4 car 444's) are really really long.
Massive compared to the 2 car 158 / 170 from around me lol
The 444s are 10-car, not 12: 2 x 5-car units.

SWR have stated that they should begin to enter service in early 2021, the Class 707s will be withdrawn first. Thanks for the question Thomas.
About that… midway through 2023 and they’re still not in service!

Hi Daniel, I honestly had no idea it was being delivered on this day. Fortunately, I used the 707 next to me as some rain cover whilst things were quiet 😃

The next station you say? I’m actually not 100% sure, I’m waiting on a few operators to get back to me with branding rights. Sticking with not before visited stations for the foreseeable future though.. maybe some Anglia stuff..? 😉

8:01 hellfire Sprinters 🔥😍. Trains are running late also 701004 with 10 coaches long running 22 minutes late what happened.
Hello Arnold! The sprinters honestly made this journey worth it, I’m so happy that they’re still running! I think the 701 was timed to be in front of the local terminator (the 458) but end up stuck behind it.

Why do the 455's sound both old and new at the same time? They have those old 80's GEC motors, but have a more modern Hitachi-like whine to them. I swear they didn't use to sound like that.
Hello Still_Guns, Under SouthWest Trains, all the 455s under went an AC Traction Upgrade which changed various motor parts. I believe the new components were actually designed to be direct replacements. Since the parts didn’t replace the gearing, the original sounds are still present (rather like a 319 can still have its motor sounds on diesel power). The 456s on this route are not upgraded and there are a few cases in this video where you can hear the difference. Great question!

Absolutely, I’m thinking of returning here myself once the 701s start entering traffic. To be honest, most of the stations on this line are good. Be quick with the 707s, they’re almost all gone! Thanks 😃
Thanks for the info, do you know when the last few 707s will be gone on the Weybridge branch because I'm thinking over going their mid November.👍 I think there's around 2 a day at the moment.

Good question Nathan, I think Retford is a really solid choice for the best and the worst would have to be Coventry, I always end up getting told to leave 😂. What about yourself?
-Fav: Wolverton bc of tilting trains and a bit of variety
-Worst: Limehouse as there are only horrid 357s AKA Noob train

Hi Scooby Boy! I have recently been to Sevenoaks (Video on my channel) and will also be uploading some more videos in that area soon. Orpington has been subject to a lot of train service alterations recently due to the Hither Green Resignalling. I hope to go back to Kent soon, so I'll put Orpington and St Mary Cray on my list to visit.

Hi a b, in this video the 456 was on a fast Woking service but I believe that they can appear on any metro service with a 455. There are 24 units so you have a pretty good chance of seeing one if you go to Wimbledon or Clapham!

Nice video! How on earth did SWR managed to get a 12 car 450 running to Weymouth from Waterloo? I would recommend visiting Woking, there would be more trains to spot if it wasn't for the pandemic.
Thanks Martin! I’m not sure about that either! This isn’t the last time I saw a 12 car Weymouth service either 😉 Just a shame that the 442s aren’t running at all.

It looks like due to the reduction in timetabled services, they are surplus to requirements (they normally work peak time services). I think it’s unlikely they’ll run now until at least December.

No not really, woking is 3 stops down the same line that doesn’t have the Weybridge - Waterloo via Hounslow stopper. So infact it’d be less
Also how do u know the train numbers thats been blocked by another train like the 450 trains that got blocked by the 455 trains?
Hi Lunatic, I work for the railway so I have a few contacts/tools which help with some of the missing numbers 🙂 I also use a few websites to give me the correct freight headcodes - freightmaster is a great one.

Nice one Lunatic! I had a feeling you’d say that because of where you typically video. The linespeed is 90 (which isn’t far off the top mainline speed of 100) but it does seem slow compared to other mainlines. The track also seems to look a bit bouncy!

My records showed there were none on this date between 10am and 1pm. There may have been some during the morning/evening peaks but I am not sure. Hope this helps Class444.

I honestly would love to, but my area is back in Tier 4. I currently have enough 2020 backlog to keep pumping out videos until the end of Feb. I will try and visit as soon as I can, promise.

Hi Georgina, I would love to.. but it looks like Bolton Percy station has been closed! The nearest open station (Ulleskelf) looks like its quite active, ill see what I can do.
It is closed but u can still go Yorkshire wildlife trust now own it

Are you not a fan of the 455s/456s? I like them, it’s a shame that despite their refurbishment and motor upgrades, they still aren’t up to SWRs mark.
