+Steven Ladd I saw them 37 years ago, sometimes little changes or needs to change. Love the bit at 5:50, I remember being advised to always owe your corporal money to avoid being used as bait for enemy fire lol.
Very interesting techniques. The film quality is a little off so it's hard to see some of the features described but the explanations are clear enough. Also they chose to save money by using live ammo. Granted they went through a few privates but now they don't need to worry about paying retirement benefits.
Great clip, I like how at the start the SGT tells the guys to "Take Cover" after the first shots, in that I think after hearing the shots you wouldn't need to be told..
This is very interesting. But why did they make these videos in the first place? Wouldn't soldiers be getting a live demonstration on these things? As far as I can find, The US and British armies are the only ones that made training videos such as this.
Manas Surya All these films are for is to supplement, and help soldiers visualize what they read in class or in their field manual. These are training for mock battles, and therefore it would be a wast of money to conduct a field exercise, when you could just show trainee's this video.
Quite interesting after playing Airsoft many years most of this ways to spot enemys seem to come naturally in the field, but limited to 70 meters of range, don't want to know how dangerous could be to fear real fire from a km away.
Informative, I must admit. However, I do not get how is he sure that target is shot and ordering advance at the moment 7.00. If he is still alive he is gonna shoot them, isn't he?
I can't tell if I'm getting my directions wrong or the guy in the video is. I swear he says "Quarter Right" and then points out a target at Quarter Left... or is that me being an idiot... I need an adult :/
Load of rubbish. These guys would be dead within 24 hours of setting off. What sniper team would take a protection team of men to protect them. as they dig? Also what machine gunner would shoot in the middle of the night to mask their digging noises? Waste of ammo as you can't see what your aiming at but. the enemy can see your muzzel flash.Thay would give the position away, Sorry but your dead. brings back memories though as the M1A1 or FAL is the rifle I know.
You go door to door asking "Are you the enemy?" And if someone says yes, you shoot them.
Brilliant and informative video. Free videos like this is the reason youtube is (still) king.
See all those blokes storming towards you with all those fucking tanks? That’s ‘em.
Once we found the enemy our next step was to steal their wallets.
And then their country, although we did sometimes offer the locals some shiny beads in return
Bonus if you can get their goldchains and rings!
I watched these in basic 18years ago . Ahh the memories

Muppeteer hilarious
watched these in basic training - last year! so awesome!
I remember when this was new.

@Haribo 73 Vintage late 60's Army training film
I'm sure this was still being shown in the 90s, I saw it in training in 1990 lol
I watched this in basic 43 years ago
Went looking for my range card.
7:03 "we found a spoon sarge!"
Great clip, I like how at the start the SGT tells the guys to "Take Cover" after the first shots, in that I think after hearing the shots you wouldn't need to be told..
Film & TV xBattle discipline. You take cover only if the fire is perceived to be effective, otherwise you’d be taking cover all the time.
Film & TV "Take cover" on the other hand you can never underestimate the British squaddie 8-)
They're shooting at us sarge. Right then lad we'd better take cover. Right "o" sarge.
very informative lesson .....
you just earned a subscriber :)
13:13 Single shot from the GUNNER take down BADASS !
You just need to pay attention and hear the "Yaaaaaaa" then you found the enemy.
What cap badge is the Sgt wearing please? It looks like it's got a 'red rose of Lancashire but my eyesight is dodge these days.
Man these videos are awesome, I'm studying tactics to help me get better at playing Armored Brigade...
Watched the same film in skill at arms!👍🏼
Beautiful countryside. Any idea where it is?
How do I get hold of these DVDs?
Has anybody seen the brass magnet?

EDP explanation, demonstration practice, lots of lovely practice. This comes under explanation and demonstration. The mantra of the British Army.
And the German Army too.
@@serfsup6544 These weren't supplemental they were basic introductions at the start of class before any physical demonstrations.
These videos were also used as training aids in the New Zealand and Australian armies.
Sorry I meant L1A1 Fn Fal
This is from the 80’s btw
No it isn't.
No need to command "take cover" once you hear a gun shot.
You only take cover when you receive effective enemy fire, not when you hear a gunshot.
@@nickattwood4258 take cover when you hear the shot. waiting for a casualty to prove it is effective enemy fire is not good.

what armed force this video belong too ?!!
Lmao hes wearing a lovely reflective gold ring
The British Army, the best army.
No wonder we lost the empire with instructions like these
Honestly I doubt I'd be showing him a thumbs up after running rabbit...more likely to choose a finger two over...or maybe that's just the US Army.
+b w I think you're right buddy! I think most soldiers worldwide would have.
Hi what does 'a finger two over' mean please?
@@RicTic66 what finger is 2 over from the thumb 😉
I can't tell if I'm getting my directions wrong or the guy in the video is. I swear he says "Quarter Right" and then points out a target at Quarter Left... or is that me being an idiot... I need an adult :/
No one got hit, useless enemy no problem.
Try not get a face lift though...
Stoooooooooop.
Sounds like South African
