London Buses 1999-Leyland Titan's at Bexleyheath & Barnehurst

It's November 1999 and i was in South East London to chase Titan's before their replacement by low floor buses. We see them at work at Bexleyheath Station, Barnehurst Burstead woods and Mayplace Road West, on routes 89, 229, 401 & 422 plus a Driver Trainer with a Northern Counties Volvo on route 96. 1999 bexleyheath still looks identical to it in 2024 at the start of the video, the flats in Northumberland heath are there, and the roundabout at the top of barnehurst

I think one of my biggest regrets when I lived in London was not going south of the city much and not traveling to places like these when the Titan was still very much about.

I only got whipped up to film & ride on these (plus Metro & Olympians) by a friend who told me over half the Titans had gone! We did however chase loads in Liverpool......

Plenty of buses in Barnet unless you want to get to Potters Bar..... plenty of empty buses to PB garage but no more 84s!.....

buses from Potters Bar to St Albans.

@@johneisen6341 Yes, i knew Herts CC had issued a tender for that section and Sullivans was the only operator who agreed to run half hourly, others only offered an hourly service. But there are now no service buses from Potters Bar Lion to Barnet! No buses service Potters Bar Community Hospital because of this, a crazy state of affairs, the first time ever there is no bus link between both places. Even in horse days when the road was the Great North Road, there had been a stagecoach service!......
