I sold my XM5's for the Bose based on the reviews on CZcams. The Bose sounds great but, but, but on S23 Ultra they are not as good as the XM5 with LDAC. XM5 sound is impressive expecially with the right EQ settings. I'm a Hip Hop & R&B person so that may play a factor. Samsung doesn't allow aptx so that's a bummer for me. Because of this the Sony's just sound better to me. I did sell my WFXM5 earbuds for the Bose Ultra earbuds though. The Bose buds bass just out thumps the Sony's. And the fit is so much better. With these I don't even care about the LDAC codec. It doesn't matter in this instance, the Bose are better.
Also I'm using Apple Music all Loseless or Dolby audio downloaded songs on the S23 Ultra and iPhone 15 pro.

I notice a lot more noise floor on the Bose QC Ultra, meaning a background hiss or white noise, when you have ANC on and don’t have any audio playing. The Sony XM5s are dead silent with ANC on and no audio playing. So if you want peace and quiet by blocking out outside noise, and no audio playing, the Sonys are dead quiet. The hiss on the Bose is very noticeable with no audio playing, but it does disappear into the background once you play audio. I think this is good to know as I haven’t heard anyone mentioning it in their reviews. I probably would not have bought the QC Ultras if I had known this.

It is time, at the moment anything older than the WH1000XM4, QC45, Airpods Pro, needs an update, it doesn't need to be upgraded to then latest and greatest.
Probably not! I bought them and the 700 are better and the Sony xm 5 murder them. I am dead ass serious.

Got the Bose Ultras a couple days ago. So far I’m very impressed, especially with the immersion.
Couldn’t agree more with you. Best headphones I’ve ever owned by a mile. Good choice with Virginia Beach, that song shines on these headphones. I use a +3 bass, -1 mid, +1 treble EQ.

Could you tell me please which one of them more suits for audiobooks and podcasts, I mean where are voices more natural and pleasant? Actually I already got Bose qs ultra and find them quite good for listening audiobooks but still I can change them if Sennheisers make the job with voices better than Bose. Or maybe there is better headphones for my purpose?Thanks in advance.
I actually tried the Bose ultra and the xm5. Ended up returning the Sonys because the Bose just have better noise cancelling, the transparency mode is as good as AirPods and I actually think the immersion mode is pretty great. They change the way you experience the music and podcasts. It works best for certain genres but I love having that option and it’s always on for me. Plus they actually fit my large ears better than the Sony

Which is more comfy for longer listening sessions the wh1000xm5 or the qc ultras?
I have both and the boss ultra are way more comfortable. The XM5s have my ears screaming after about 10 minutes, I plan on selling them.
I'd say the xm5z cs both fit good but the bose likes to get to tight and that's very uncomfy 😪
Totally agree buddy....just got some and they sound incredible,like say something like led zeppelin,u can hear every little detail of each instrument and hearing stuff in my music i never heard before...And DnB well that's almost emotional how good the bass sounds....cost me 400 notes but i wud say there well worth it...yup outstanding,I give em a extra boost with the IFI go blu dac in wired mode with balanced sound cause they have the 2.5mm jack so yeah use that dac with tidal app and they really do shine through that...but being careful in 4.4mm balanced sound connection on the ifi dac ...they go well louder than the built in one...but gotta be careful not to blow em...400 bills ouch!! But yups WOW!!!! BOOMIN!!!

Haha Sony was never even close.. Sony has barely catch up with better microphones for conference calls but now bose just skyrocketed.
Can it be used passively, with wire? I mean, without battery, just like Sony XM models, connected with cable and listen even when battery is dead. Thanks
yes you can use it passively just with a wire. hope this helps!
But not with a dead battery. The noise cancelation is always on, the touch controls need power. With a dead battery these headphones don't do anything.

While I totally thank you for this review, I felt the sound was slightly better than the Bose qc45 but not better than the Bose 700s. The NC on these were the best I have I heard in any headphones. But the combo of sound and NC the XM5's were much better. Thanks
It's because the new ultras have a v shape their bass makes the mids muddy covering up some detail well the bose 700 sound more accurate out of the box but the ultras does okay higher resolution music so you could gain back that clarity that is lost If you play high-res music
Didn't read the bottom but sound wise the xm5 and ultra should sound almost completely the same they are using the same type of driver abd have the same type of boost over time the mids on the ultras should be broken in and it won't be as elevated so with 40 hours or more listening to the ultras and xm5 sound wise will be the same I personally don't care about nc once so ever only sound but the best sounding Bluetooth headphones all have nc its only when I can't take my senshiser hd800s with me

The mic was very quiet
My gf got me both for my birthday 2 weeks ago and i gotta say that the Bose QC Ultra only does a bit more than the XM5s in terms of bass for its price. Plus its mic is kinda trash compared to the Sony. Only time I use it is when i watch anime but for everyday use i def prefer the Sony. The Bose gotta offer more when you're charging 400, otherwise the only real reason to buy these is if you're a die hard Bose fans and you're just making the purchase for the brand name
Nah, I don't agree. The Bose QC Ultras sound significantly better than the Sony 1000xm5, and they are far more comfortable. The case that the Sony 1000xm5 comes with is too damn big. The earpads on the 1000xm5 are also too shallow. I also hate the touch controls on the Sony 1000xm5.

Momentum 4 is just best in this class, 60 hours battery life and beats Sony/Bose sound quality
No they don't. The Bose QC Ultra's sound better than the Sennheiser momentum 4 while being far more comfortable and lighter. The ANC is also a bit stronger on the Bose. My head was uncomfortable after an hour of wearing the Sennheiser momentum 4 and the earpads touch my ears. The soundstage is better than the the Sennheiser momentum 4 and the bass gets deeper while being cleaner than the Sennheiser momentum 4.
You can't get a better sound if your headphones didn't provide a better anc. The noise affect too much.
@zombieimpact279@@zombieimpact2790 I have to disagree, soundstage on m4 is wider and bass is much cleaner and doesn't mess with the minds. Sound quality is subjective but from my A/B testing, and also other people who have done the same testing, most people agree Momentum 4 sounds better. I have no comfort issues during long term wear of either.
@@zombieimpact2790actually the Sennheiser has wider soundstage but the Bose sounds better to the ears with a more balanced character although instrument desperation is narrow. It's sounds like NC700 but with bass boosted.
The battery is a joke compared to momentum 4. Momentum 4 is just the best in this class
