I never really understood how did he exactly die, after all, the cockpit doesn't sustain any direct hit or it doesn't seem like it has any visible damage from outside. And since ms cockpits are designed to only sustain damage if directly damaged, it doesn't make sense for me how he ended up without direct damage and its arms sufficiently intact to show he tried to come out, anyone can explain?
the zaku bazooka has an incredibly large high-explosive round. detonation at point blank range likely killed will game through the concussion alone. there have been many times in tank warfare where entire crews are killed by high explosive shot, either from artillery, rockets or bombs from aircraft. without any object physically penetrating the armor plate of said vehicle. the crews are simply "rung like a bell" its also possible that the force of the explosion caused the 360 degree monitor to shatter, and send the debris bouncing around the cockpit. shredding him. this might be more likely, as death from the concussion of the blast would have been instant, but he died sometime after. since it appears he tried to escape his disabled machine. this would also explain why he was such a shock to look at... probably swiss cheese.
@@wikikomoto yeah, the concussion theory sounds reasonable enough, but seeing as Loran seemed pretty disturbed at the sight, perhaps he had his head caved in in some way since his arms don't appear to have sustained any damage from the shattering of the 360 cockpit, although about the concussion, that could be contradicted by the fact that many ms had airbags, so it might be something else, like his neck breaking or something that although gruesome, would have him intact enough to have his arms not affected giving him the chance to try to escape after
@@yoshikagekira9781 an airbag wouldn't actually help with the concussion from the blast. the shock from the concussion creates a wall of pressure that is powerful enough to more-or-less liquify your insides. this type of thing would be seen on ships hit by a salvo of cannon fire, though in the situation where a tank crew is knocked out by concussion, the effect wouldn't be as gruesome. but more than enough to simply stop your internal organs from functioning. if you've looked up armored warfare at all, and come across people talking about being "rung like a bell" its literally that. the tank is the bell. and the crew is inside of it. relatively a small impact from the outside creates incredible pressure on the inside. but i agree, his arms looked fine. so it probably wasn't shrapnel. but if he was killed by the bell effect, it would have been instant. he would have been dead before he even realized he'd been hit. so i'm not sure why he'd be hanging out of the cockpit. though, in the end, it could have been many things. maybe even just a penetrating frag from the projectile got him, or maybe he bit his tongue and bled out. (more common than you'd expect actually, especially with aircraft pilots) or, as you mentioned, maybe he broke his neck? we can't know for sure... poor guy just wanted to go to space :(
If you look at the was the bazooka fires, it basically goes into the suit's armpit, which means it probably completely bypassed the armor and went right to internals. It would also explain how the head went flying as well.
It's definitely a GM cannon equivalent, as the overall design is very similar to that of the mass produced Turn-A gundam (which unfortunately only ever appears in concept art, and never makes an appearance in the show)
@@wikikomoto but it looks more Turn-A than GM perhaps it's mobile suit in-between V-Gundam and Turn-A like a Re-GM or something? (Edit: didn't read it though properly but I do agree that it looks like a mass production of the Turn-A)
