I definitely took all of the steps you suggested and it worked! Ranked on 1 st page and best seller in 3 categories and got the best new release banner. But once my free promotion ended sales have dramatically declined and my spot is slowly moving down the 1 st page of search results. Any advice on keeping the momentum going once the free promo ends? I’m running ads as well and got 9 reviews in 2 days. There’s a high demand and low competition in my niche.

Always very informative and accurate, great vid Dane! quick question regarding cookbooks; is it generally more difficult to market and gather reviews for them? Have you had any type of success with them?
Hi Wiliam, glad to hear you enjoyed the video. I have had some success with cookbooks in the past, however I find that the main problem with them is that a lot of the time, they fall within very competitive niches that are hard to gain traction in. I wouldn't say the marketing is any different though. Another thing, you can get away with black and white printing with cookbooks, but your book will do better and stand out more if it's printed in colour, however this can hurt your margins quite a bit.

Hi Dane, amazing video! I want to unpublish my book cos I haven't run any ads for first 6 weeks. Do you think that publishing it again and run ads ( plus all the prelaunch ect ) would have any negative impact because I have published it in the past ? Thanks!

How to generate reviews for self help books
My book- The Weeping Heart of God by Ingrid Fonseca, Self designed and published with a high cover, is still competing n is in 2 lakhs category tht too after using unique keywords n a high qualty end cover🤦♀
Question: Do you recommend taking a prior book, changing the cover title and start again using your suggestions above?
Some authors do do that, and seen different results based on what they do.
It will make things easier on yourself since Amazon is 'nicer' during the first month your book is live in terms of getting it ranked higher for your main keywords. However, if the current live book has a bunch of reviews, and you unpublish it, you will lose those reviews.

And when you send a pdf, aren't you afraid that someone will upload it for free and then amazon will take your account ?
