Pinoy moms are hustlers. Extra napkin, extra ketchup, extra butter, extra spoon, extra fork, anything that won't spill and will fit in their bags.
My best friend from high-school and college was Philippino. 😅
In college we would go to his house after class and one day his mom was cooking 🐟🍲🍙🍛🍚
She looks at me dead in the eyes and screams. "You hungry?"
I said "uhh"
She cut me off instantly and said "SIT DOWN, SIT NOW NOW, YOU EAT"
She piled my plate full of food I've never seen before and a plate with 3 fish and their heads and rice pudding and everything She was making.
My friend goes " Maaaa he's American he can't eat like us" then said something in Tagalo
I said "wanna bet" and started eating. Mostly scared of his mom. Who had her flip flop already in her hand ready to throw it at him.

My Mom did that to me as a kid. I've definitely had to go into restaurants, gas stations, she didn't care. Straws, sugar packets, forks etc. I hated it as a kid but you never know what you will need or when you'll need it and it's always good to be prepared 😅😊

We had the entire table at the diner Salt and pepper shakers even the jelly and sugar containers caddys oh don’t forget the great steak knives. You didn’t just bring home the food you didn’t finish the diner came back with us. Anything and everything fit in their pocket book bags, pockets heck we carried it out. That was the old carry out😂

My grandmother kept a GALLON SIZE plastic bag in her purse. She would clear everyone plate into a napkin and then dump each napkin into her plastic bag for her purse. I always tried to eat ALL my food so I wouldn’t have to guess who’s napkin was whose 🥺
My nanay would give out "pabalot" of different "ulam" like lechon, emotido, morcon, mechado, menudo, kare-kare na nakalagay sa ice cream tub, to our guests and relatives during lenten and her birthday every Dec 25. She was known to all as Donya Naty.
My daughter loves to order French fries in Mcdonalds and I said ask some sachet of ketchup but she didn't like a ketchup, so in the end I always brought the ketchup back home and put it all together beside the condiments in our table😂

They will get plateful food, don’t or can’t eat everything. Then, out the ziplocks ang plastic bags and put the uneaten food and plastic utensils. While stuffing the food in ziplocks, they mutter: “for the dogs at home” or worse, “for my husband who cannot come” because he’s too lazy to attend, so bring him some food.😊
