On an occasion of Earth day, I had to make my kid appear like a tree to promote plantation. In this video, I have explained the process of making a DIY Tree costume with just chart papers. The steps are quite easy and costume is very stable, making the kid go handsfree. So he can perform as well.
You can use the similar idea for costumes on fancy dress day too.
