If both companies decide not to build the plant and assuming perfect information....why is 18|18 not nash equilibrium....are there two nash equilibrium?

If market has high demand obviously either company will want to maximise his profit. So if one company decides not to build automatically other will try to maximise profit and build new. So there is no question of not building a new plant.

It was a nice video with the given examples. But it is still hard to understand what he is trying to deliver. But if you choose simple words and also an simple example it would be much better instead just giving an company example & you can also put a simpler example like how we create an equilibrium if you are in a situation to how to apply it. Then that kind of video would be very grateful. But the video is ok.

Sir I have a question
If we follow the pay off matrix, equilibrium should be in the condition when both Honda and Toyota earns 18 million dollar profit as it is the first highest utility
Whereas in the grid of 16 million dollar profit is 2nd highest utility
So my question is how nash equilibrium is in the grid of 16 million dollars profit

sir i have just one doubt in the last portion where there is non-nash equilibrium where honda is sure that toyata wont make the plant, so honda decides to make it in order to gain 20millon, but toyota after seeing honda making bigger profit and his own 15 million (less profit) chooses to make plant as well.. You said honda will come in worst situation but.. i am not understanding where is the loss of honda, even if toyota changes its decision later they still will land on 16-16 million profit..

Bcoz Honda was getting 20 where Toyota wasn't making the plant
So h = 20 , t = 15
But now Toyota decides to make and Honda was also building it ..
So h = 16 , t = 16
So if u see Honda had a loss of 4 m and Toyota gained 1 m..
H = 20 T = 15
H = 16 T = 16
So this is why .. if u have doubt u can ask me

Yes , if any single one deviates both parties get loss ( equill...) ..which doesn't happens in example ..
