Seeing FPV implemented in football games makes me happy as a Drone operator. You could tell how nervous they were when the game started, they got smoother as the game progressed. So cool to see.

@@Infernos94 I fly drones for a living and it's amazing to see how far they've come in just the last few years. Those guys flying them are the only reason they aren't crashing. They don't just hover or go into a safe mode, it's all pilot. Pretty impressive.
Luis Perez was so good with the Iron. I'm glad he's still in the QB business even out of the NFL.

Luani is a monster. I'm surprised a guy as talented as him can't stay in the NFL.
Hopefully one day a smaller league like this will grow enough that the NFL doesn't control the entire sport anymore.
He maybe better than these guys but he may not be NFL level good.

It was a good game. I was thinking the same thing at first, like how tf is this so good? But then I realized my expectations were negatively biased going in. I was thinking in terms of how these guys compare to nfl talent, and overlooking the fact that these guys are still literal professional athletes. All of them have dedicated huge chunks of their life to this sport, from childhood to college, to the nfl for some, and now to here. They absolutely have the talent to put on an entertaining football game. Hell, even a high school game, or even just a pick up game can be wildly entertaining. What makes a sport good isn’t really the talent. It’s all about the passion, and the competition. This game had it, and I expect that from the rest of the season from the whole league. There has never been a secondary big football league for these guys, at least not one that’s stable, well organized, and had a real chance at success. The usfl has that rare promise, these guys know it, and they’re all eager to make their impact on this new league. Who knows, maybe 50 years down the line, the generals and stallions will face off again, now wearing 50th anniversary patches, and a whole ass history behind it all
This is basically their tune up game. It was kinda preseason with starters like. And it was honestly better than most NFL games Atleast for some ppl who like real football, with the officiating and hits.
@@shannonballspen1s482 It was good to see professional players giving the extra effort . The NFL has players that take three steps and stand and watch the rest of the play .
@@shannonballspen1s482 yup, this was mostly experimentation for game planning and play calls. With only 3 weeks between Draft and training camp into tonight, they had to just brainstorm a bunch of cool ideas and try them out this game. The chemistry isn't quite there yet, but big plays were still very much capable. The NFL'S regular season struggles from pacing and not enough motivation to win every game. This game had a lot on the table, especially for Birmingham since they are a home team. The Birmingham Stallions will forever be known as the first USFL winners and to do it in their own stadium has got to bring a lot of praise for them. Just what this type of league needed.

This was a pretty good first game. impressive opening drive touchdowns from both sides, and a close finish
Since the USFL has multiple players and coaches mic'ed up, they should experiment with having a delay on the broadcasting so the broadcast team can choose what voices should be heard so those watching at home could have a better experience and hear more clearly

This was a good start to this league. De'Andre Johnson and J'Marr Smith are beasts.

The opening drives, last drive of the 3rd quarter, and the entire 4th quarter elevated this to a whole other level. J'Mar Smith easily stole the show after carrying the team on his back and earned that W. Overall, I really enjoyed what I saw tonight and am proud to call myself a USFL fan. Can't wait to see what else is in store this season.

@@BuzzzdLightyear the moves xfl did recently many say is definitely a merger possibility. They moved the vipers away from Tampa to Orlando which is very smart since aaf did good down there with apollos. They now are placing teams in San Antonio and Las Vegas to replace LA wildcats which was one of my teams. And they will replace New York guardians.

just came back from this game it was an awesome atmosphere, great crowd.. These boys were hitting out there too! great game. That clothesline by hanks had us going wild. I understand the cost effective point of view but having the entire season in Birmingham for the entire league is weird.. Alabama is very supportive of their football teams and it showed tonight but im not so sure these other teams are going to have a great atmosphere.. I can tell you one thing, when the other mascots and teams were brought out, it wasn't a great reception for them lol.. (except for Kevin sumlin and Jeff Fisher being big name coaches from the past)

Great football I was surprised, and this game was actually so hype!!! Thought it was over after the field goal, then an awesome drive by the stallions. I was not going for a team today all I wanted was a good game. And I got that, I am proud to call myself a USFL fan!!!

Yeah I can tall you true fans of the game are hyped. At least gen X fans are hyped. We remember usfl football and are glad it's back. Xfl didn't work because there was no familiarity and the camera angles ruined it as a fresh league

Heck of a game. After watching it, I think the USFL has potential to be that new football league that can fill the void during the NFL offseason and at least give us football fans more football to watch. Hopefully the USFL does succeed enough to where we could probably get more expansion teams.

@@whoishim2998 yup many think it’s happening because some of the moves xfl is doing as we speak. The vipers are moving to Orlando which is greatly needed since AAF did good there with apollos. San Antonio and Las Vegas are getting teams replacing the wildcats and guardians since they were weak markets. I’ll miss the wildcats that was one cool team. Dragons and battlehawks are the money makers for xfl. Roughnecks and renegades are staying also as with defenders.
This league can carve out a nice niche as long as they don't do something stupid, like trying to compete with the NFL during the fall.

Man it is GREAT to hear the vid start out with that classic NBC Sports music. Brings me back to the NBA playoffs of the 90s when the NBA was actually exciting to watch. But right now I'm just glad to be watching some SPRING FOOTBALL once again!! And so far the style of play even reminds me of that 90's=early 2000s NFL style of play.

Just wanna say I love how the Generals played and the play calls they had. Having 2 QBs with different play styles swapping in and out to get a good feel, and being so prepared like that for each play was just awesome to see. Johnson goes out there and makes the run game and blisters the defense, Perez goes out there and takes a large chunk with Satterfield, keeps the defense on edge while keeping the offense alert and stop them from going into autopilot. Their defense made some great plays, too, a lot of it being Luani with picks, TFL's, and satisfying hits. I honestly thought they were going to close it up after their first half' performance, but good job to Smith and the Stallions for making the comeback. Gonna be an exciting league, I already know it!
Randy Satterfield will be a treat to watch all season. Saw a lot of potential from him against the Stallions
Much more fun to watch than the NFL. Running options plays, hard hits, you can tell everyone is giving their all.

The USFL could not have asked for a better opening game. The home team completes a 2 minute offense comeback. The season as a whole started sloppy but the passion was there that the NFL often lacks at times

These some of the things I like about the USFL.....
1. The quarterback and coach is miced up so you can hear the play call
2. They using drones for overhead camera angles which gives more of a cinematic view instead of the NFL's "rope camera"
3. As far as gameplay it's just like watching a NFL game......from the play calls to on field play
If I had 1 suggestion.....10 minute quarters instead of 15.....more "action" at a somewhat faster pace.....them after a few seasons they can go back to 15 minute quarters
That was a pretty good game, It looked like the Generals were gonna dominate with their rushing game. Birmingham stuck in there and won.
