In an era you only had sales from physical purchases of your albums. And he hasn’t had a gold certified album since 2012, but this dude has sold thousands of records in his first week countless times and that’s respectable. The equivalent sales aren’t as respectable because nobody buys albums anymore, including me who was always saying I’d never stop buying physical albums.
