Maybe you should also get the Black Lion XB Mod and give us a review. I am feeling like he will not do the review. And yes I put in a comment asking for his very valuable opinion of the XB Mod… so frustrating. I am going to get it for my X SE soon any way after I sell one of my guitars, which pays for it and my MPC X SE

You can really do that yourself if you pick up some analog hardware. My Argosy Console Desk is maxed out with racks of hardware. I got the RND R10 500 series rack and some 500 series NEVE pre amps, Focusrite ISA, BLA Compressors. I'm about to pick up a bluey next from BLA. That's how I process my drums from Studio One now that I no longer use MPC'S or standalone hardware anymore. There's really no point in this modern era spend 2500 on stand-alone hardware and then still turn around and run it through analog gear. That's money you can save.

There is a difference in the older MPC's vs the newer models. It all comes down to preference. If converters didn't matter, then the Lynx Hilo Converter would never be able to sell at it's price tag.

If you are in controller mode(i see your usb cable coming out) then those drums are gone get converted by your Audio Interface, the X becomes a slave, a midi controller. If you are in standalone mode then you using the X build in converters, there will be a night and day difference because D/A converts not in optimum way with the X. All you have to do is just run a test tone and you will hear the difference and once you start stacking sounds in the X in standalone you going to hear how it sounds, not very good, artificial low end and too much high, this is design flaw in general but optimized for their plugins. I hope they can change it, it would change the game.
Yes the usb cable is connected but I'm in standalone. When Easki spoke about converters and how they make these machines sound, I was excited for the music community because we now have a voice! I crave for the day machines can get back to those more vintage/legacy sonics with my fingers crossed. Good feedback, Super Thanks‼️
@@whennatecreate the main problem is that when I am bringing in my custom strings or drums or loops from my Emu or Mpc 3000 and we play it back it sound dull on low end
It feels hyped, this is a design flaw on their part the math inside is not optimum. They need to just make a proper flagship

Converters aren't "FANCY" its needed for PROFESSIONAL USE. If you're a hobbiest then it does not matter.

I will give my honest opinion. I think the drums samples are great but i have heard better. I have been collecting one shot drum samples for 15 plus years as i have a massive archive of drum sample library's backed up on several hard drives i mean gigs and gigs of thousands of samples i accumulated over the years. I did notice many of the sampes in EA Ski drum pack were similar samples that I already had as i heard some familiar snares and hi hats. I'm not going name any of the library's or where i got my sounds from because they are my secrete sauce. I also still own quite a bit of hardware as i own 5 different hard sound modules including my 24 year old E-MU Proteus 2000 and E-MU Mo Phatt moduels. Those vintage E-MU sound module's have that analog warmth to them because of the converters used on those 90's hardware. The outputs are noisy to give it that analog saturation sound.
I also have the E-MU Proteus 2000, beast of a sound module. I still use external gear also, can’t get away from it🎯
@@whennatecreate Nice! So you already know about the sound of Vintage E-MU sound modules. I also own analog outboard as well too. Infact I moved away from hardware sequencing all together hense getting rid of my MPC5000 that was nightmare of problems that was an unreliable hunk of junk. I went Hybrid now that do everything in Studio One Pro these days. My Presonus Atom drum pad controller replaced my MPC while I sequence the MIDI of my 5 hardware synthesizer sound modules in Studio One all connected to my MOTU MIDI interface. Previous I had my keyboards and sounds MIDIed to my MPC. I mix and match using my legacy hardware synth collection and modern soft synths like Omnisphere all in Studio One as a one stop workstation. I have my MOTIF ES6 keyboard in the closet retired now that I have the MOTIF Rack-ES that is taking over but hell my MOTIF ES keyboard out lasted my MPC5000 which is a shame. I have 11 years worth of beats I need to get off the MOTIF keyboard which I have for archives now.

E- MU Mo phatt module is fire for drums. Has that sonic quality. They are punchy.

just bypass the converters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! like i dont see what everybody is making noise about............. i can record through my apollo or any outboard gear and sample in chop sequence etc.... when i'm ready to track out just reroute the outputs to its destination like yall overthinking alot..... my eps 16 my asr 10 my mpc 2000 xl is really all i need yall go spend almost 3 racks on same shit
