Interesting, I came up with a similar strat but I cant get the pile bunker to connect reliably so I use the butt sword. I have also had some success getting the cataphract to do the small jumping/grenade attack repeatedly. it appears being at the right distance, strafing and hopping as he recovers gets him to do the attack again. It doesn't seem to work everytime but I've gotten it to work 4-5 times in a row.
Can't be too far away, and you always have to dash once (and no more) to the side after pilebunkering and it's safe from instant minigun as well. The grenade attack I could get 100% of the time after the opening minigun salvo, but the 2nd one here was just lucky, doubt you can guarantee one. I would be interested in seeing their AI, because some bosses seem to have very high chances of doing certain moves at specific ranges (or angles around them).
@@mouseinatutuI'm going to have to give it it another go with the pile bunker, 3 cycle seems too good to pass up. I did notice a slight improvement that can be made. The opener he does has 2 long busts of machine gun, if you strafe left (like you did) then switch to strafing to the right in the gap, you can line up your first hit before he does the grenade attacks and I think when he recovers will continue trying to do the grenades attack which might allow you to do the second hit safely. I'm not sure if you even play AC6 anymore or have any interest refining this lol. But you are right the AI does seem like you can get it to do certain actions if you position yourself correctly. I noticed this with the PCA Chopper as well.
@@anubis520 Unfortunately I've been too busy to play much of anything lately. If I'd return it would be to finish up the ng+ (and ++) bosses. Some other kills I want to do more. Certainly wish you good luck though, hitless-ing this game is quite a tall order.
@@mouseinatutu That is a shame. Hopefully you find the time to finish up the other two difficulties. It certainly is a handful to try to even get a reliable route that doesn't rely on RNG. Thankfully so far the most BS fight is the PCA chopper and that is a 4 minute reset. Balteus is a pretty significant hurdle but should be consistent with practice. Everything else seems pretty doable in the first 2 chapters. With your videos as a guide I have some hope for chapter 3 and 4.
Yeah, I've just been too lazy to note it down. All the part names make my head spin, however the important bits are: Songbirds and Pile Bunker, with 15 direct hit damage, 15% melee damage and 9(?)% explosive damage. The shit I've been too lazy to not down: Arms with highest melee specialization thus far, fastest boost speed booster and no right hand weapon to not get too heavy for jump legs.
