Ren plays the intro only. The rest is a classical player. He obviously can't be playing it while walking around singing. Remember, this is a LIVE performance. There is only one cut... near the end when the camera pans around the back of the wheelchair. They had to do the final rain scene as a separate take because they only had one chance to do it. So it's totally live, just 2 pieces.
Ren was asked about the utopia line in an interview. Ren said he wasn't expecting utopia. Simply wanting people to try to meet somewhere in the middle. Building community and unity umongst the people.
It was Ren playing the piano at the start but the person who took his place was a classical pianist who played the piano part in the rest of the video (I believe).
This entire video was done live, there is no splicing or post production.

BTW & FYI Ren played the piano in the opening but the piano being played through the rest of the song is a pianist that Ren hired because this is all a live performance. The Album version is a bit different because it's a studio recording and the pauses and dramatic parts aren't as drawn out. Rest assured Ren did compose all of this music piano and string section.🤯🤯. Plus, Ash luv, the bags on everyone's heads are money bags symbolizing that we're all part of and trapped in the money game in some way or another, including Ren.

@@stevenmeyer9674 Ren did say he had a little help from the classical pianist in its composition but if you look under the discrption of the MG3 video it says "Song written, composed, arranged, and performed by Ren" & directed by Ren & Samuel. So take it up with Ren & his own words in the interview I watched & the info he left on the video. Other than that let me know what answers you end up getting from Ren bro.

The discerption in the MG3 video says "Song written, composed, arranged, and performed by Ren". To be clear, Ren said “we can build utopia(s)” plural. That’s an entirely different philosophy to that of trying to build a planetary utopia, which would require a dictatorship to enforce.
But envisioning multiple, smaller utopias isn’t a stretch, and I think could be sustainable. Engineering them, though, might be a trick. And they’d all be different, depending on the culture within each.
It’s an interesting thought experiment, at least.
I think Ren is probably aware that Utopia is something we are not able to reach, however he is right when he says that we can do better, and that the first step is self awareness.

Ditto! 😁😂 With this piece of "Art", as with some of his other "Masterpieces", Ren is much like a "Prophet" communicating thought provoking issues through "Musical Parables".
Simply put: This is a Ren & Sam Master-Class. Ren has been saying for months, particularly during the Knox Hill interview, that this was going to be his best piece of work. Combine that with Samuel Perry-Falvey's cinematography progression, a decent budget at last, and here it is. The fact at Ren wrote the piano and strings score himself is testament to his mastery of music. Kudos to Charlie Woof-Bryne who kicked Ren off the piano stool and took over that musical score and played flawlessly to match Ren's pace. Kudos also to the violinist who sat stoic when some mis-directed rain was drenching both her and her bow. I also noted your comment on the All Black haka. Tomorrow that will be front and center at the World Cup final between old foes NZ and South Africa. Nice reaction. Kia kaha from NZ. Go the AB's.
Did you notice the one mistake when Ren put the gun back down on the table and when it was replaced with the replica gun , it was put down in the opposite direction ?

No it wasn't him playing after he got up from piano. Sam said on twitch that he couldn't get Ren or the other piano player off this £100k piano they rented. 😀

Just under 200K for the piano, according to my quick search. The people that recognize it squeal a bit. I saw it identified as a Yamaha CFX.
Love a UK reaction - it’s so obvious in our day to day, that despite pockets of wealth - society declines - you’re right - he gets it.
Another enjoyable reaction. Apart from “Hi Ren,” “Money Game Part 3” is, in my opinion, Ren’s best work to date, and the bar he previously set was already incredibly high. It is an amazing and thought-provoking piece of performance art. Ren played the intro on the piano. The guy who came up from behind and replaced Ren is Charlie Woof-Bryne, an accomplished classically trained UK pianist who also occasionally plays jazz and pop.
At the beginning of Jimmy’s life, “one year old and his first words were’ mine, mine, gimme’; two years, old he was walking; three years old, walking quickly; four years old he was running around the pavement of his city. Then, “40 years old, and he cursed the words ‘mine, mine, gimme’; 41, he wasn’t walking; 42, not walking quickly; 43, never running around the pavement of his city.” ROM (@ROMsquad) during their reaction pointed out the irony that Jimmy was focused on chasing wealth and fame only to lose his ability to run as a result.
This wasn't a total one-take but two separate one-takes. The video was a one-take up to the wheelchair getting turned around. They had to cut when the camera was pointed at the back of the wheelchair in order to prepare for the rain scene at the end. It could only be done once because Ren only had this one suit and his pants were about to get soaked. Moreover, the lavalier mic needed to be moved from his jacket lapel to his red tie and covered to keep it from getting wet. Not sure if you noticed but the violin and viola segment of the piece is playing Ren’s humming vocals from Money Game Part 1.
Andrew Lloyd Webber, after viewing Money Game 3, stated that Ren is one of the most unique songwriters and storytellers he has seen in recent times and that he hoped that Ren’s album “Sick Boi” would hit #1. That is quite a compliment coming from this musical genius and legend.

Ren wrote all the music, both piano and strings as per his live straight after he released money game pt 3. He played the first part and then Charlie took over, again as stated by Ren

This will be a long comment, but what Dave said was so on point to the Hawk-Dove, I have to:
The Hawk-Dove game sets up with two behaviors and a resource. Dove finds the resource and starts munching. When another bird arrives, Dove just keeps eating --- yum! Dove shares. Then there's Hawk. When another comes along, the Hawk fights! MY food! I'm going to describe the mathematical payoff matrix since I can't paste the graphic:
Top Left Box: if a Dove encounters another Dove, the payoff for the Dove is v/2 (v = benefit/food/resource) because Dove only gets half.
Top Right Box: Dove encounters Hawk, payoff is 0. Doves don't fight, so the resource is taken by the Hawk.
Bottom Left Box: if a Hawk encounters a Dove, payoff is v. Hawk takes it all.
Bottom Right Box: Hawk encounters a Hawk, payoff is (v-k)/2. k = cost (in energy, injury, etc. of fighting). Divided by 2 because the Hawk is going to win about half the time.
You can see that everyone gets more, each individual gets more, if we're all Doves. The reason this doesn't happen is because for a strategy to be stable, it has to be un-invadable. If a mutant is introduced, the status quo has to pay off more than the invader. So, if we live as Doves, and we're happy, peaceful, and well-fed, all it takes is one Hawk to fly in or be born, and we're f***ed. Hawk wins big. There are a number of things you can work out with these definitions, such as how many hawks and doves are in a community, but the take-away related here is:
We can't rely on human nature to change: we must implement systems that reward Dove behavior or punish Hawks enough that the payoff shifts. Intellectually knowing that we all prosper more without fighting isn't enough.

As for the subject of Utopia, I'd just like to say that we've been fed a version of Utopia that as you say, isn't possible. So what is Utopia? For me at 61, semi-retired. Utopia is the fact I'm virtually answerable to no one. I live rural, have 2 rescue horses, 2 dogs. I grow food in my garden, swim in the river across the road in Summer, eat good food and drink good water. So, this to me is Utopia. Love you both. You feel like family.

It was Ren playing at the beginning but you saw the new pianist take overand then went to the mirror. You can even see the pianist in the backround at times. Don't forget that this was recorded live. There isn't any music added later, this is as it happens. Ren did compose and arrange the music for piano and strings though. To stop the pedants jumping all over me, as they have before, I should point out the bleedin' obvious, that the first couple of piano bars, right at the very start, weren't composed by Ren but everything else (99.9%) was. :)

I am very Doslexic and i am 52 now so i was diagnosed early on. I have never learnt the times tables because i have a 4 span memorie so a 5th thing and i forget everything. I am good at maths but i add up side ways, it works.
My schools in Scotland and England were very competative in sport and music, a kilt as uniform makes you not conform becaise there are so many tartens. I never conformed and i love my mad life.
School used to be more like that in the UK too. There was the concept of a "well rounded education". A lot of what you did in school and learned in school, wasn't about exam preparation but about creativity, teaching you to think and explore and to develop as a person and there was a lot more time spent outside the classroom. The emphasis was still on teaching what you needed to pass exams but that wasn't all there was to education. That began to change in the 80s, where the emphasis was very deliberately shifted towards preparing pupils to slot into the 'job market'. Hardly surprising, we had a Prime Minister who said, "There's no such thing as society" and believed it. It's become more and more like that since. The arts and humanities have become peripheral at best. The idea of a "wider education" has long gone. Now it's all about preparing kids to become cogs in the economic machine.

Great reaction guys and some interesting observations. I really enjoy hearing the discussions that Ren is the catalyst for. It's so much more than just consumption to distract and numb you from the daily grind, it stirs up your brain and challenges you to think for yourselves. I don't think that any great change will come from Ren (or any artist) but hopefully by opening minds, at least some people will see that they have choices and responsibilies in this old money game!

Something else you may have missed, yes this was another classic Ren one take.
Including the phenomenal transition of rolling the camera from the piano to the figure against the wall.
Two takes according to Ren. The cut is when the camera goes behind the wheelchair and it goes black. They had one chance to film the last section because they wouldn't be able to dry the floor in time for a second go, so they did a cut at that point.

My take: the hood symbolizes that we are all faceless player pieces in the money game. The rope/noose represents our fate when we lose the money game.
Violence, war, racism, etc are byproducts of the money game. The point of the game is power, and money equals power. So unless we, as humans, choose to change the game, those nooses will tighten up one day.
Ren takes off his hood and steps out of the game. When he pressed on the trigger, he killed the game, not himself.
It's a message of hope.

In regards to your end conversation, I've always felt that schools should teach kids how to think, not what to think. Obviously, there are things like math, science, language, and history and such that are matter of fact, but we see a lot of schools pushing opinions and viewpoints onto children instead of just informing them of them and allowing the children to decide things for themselves. If kids are taught hot to think, instead of what to think, then I believe we would naturally lean more towards a better path, especially in terms of accepting and respecting people that have opposing viewpoints on things.
Schooling is no longer about reading,writing and arithmetic it's about indoctrinating kids with a far left ideology.

You take things far too literally, and defensively, sometimes, lol. Poetic licence, metaphor... Ren doesn't think it likely that utopia can be achieved. However, he does believe in aiming for it, otherwise nothing will change. He doesn't believe that this is anything close to being the best we can hope for. You need to remember that this isn't a party political broadcast, it's a work of art. Having said that, anyone who believes that capitalism is the best we can do, really is trapped in the money game, with the moneybag over their head not letting them see clearly...
The Money Game(s) was written when Trump was the president, number 45. It was the last year for Jimmy, and that's not an accident, not with Ren.
These songs are as anti-capitalist as they come. I think we are getting a good idea about his views on justice and equality. Evidently he likes to read when he's in treatment, I can only imagine the reading list must have the likes of Marx and Chomsky on it considering the level of understanding he has about politics.
Knox Hill interviewed Ren and asked about the 45/Trump thing and he said it didn't have to do with Trump, it had to do with the calber of the gun.
Also, he's said in interviews that although in raps he's said he's ant-capitalist, he actually isn't. He's anti-greed. He points out that he's selling product through the use of capitalism himself.
