What a brilliant afternoon out, even if it was a bit choppy! No noise and no smell of fuel. Perfect ! Definitely the way forward!
For that type of boat it makes sense on every level
In this Episode: After Captain Tim and 1. Officer Mr. Boo leading their Crew to new Dimensions Mr. Boo buys in his Dreams the newest addon for Elton the little Darkblue 34m Yacht Lynx wich will be renamed in Boo 1 and Elton could be parked at the Sundeck. Tim in his Wisdom blured it out in the Background so Mr. Boo can have nice Dreams
What fantastic scenery. The boat reminded me of the little paddle boats you get in small ponds on holidays.Just watched Jaws 2 last night can you imagine being on one of those boats? 🦈🦈Well done Mr Boo for finding your sea legs.Master Bates hasn't got a look in.😁👍
What a great day!
I haven’t been on a boat since decades. Now I miss it a bit.
This is warm weather would be very relaxing. A nice picnic and swim off the back
That story about your wee boat and the glue containers; I'm sure I heard David Niven tell it once. 😉
That’s funny
Magnifique! I really miss not being in the south of France
That was really lovely. Thanks so much!
Thanks Avid
You forgot Master Bates and lets not mention Roger the Cabin boy. 1970 Childrens TV, Miss it.
Indeed! Lol
different episode, but so much appreciated, I love sailing and solar boats are amazing, no noise and no costs with fuel, almost no maintenance.
lacks speed but who cares, enjoying a weekend sailing and seeing the lovely views, what else can you ask?
lol Tim, you story, what an adventure, you are more use to Elton and not so much into boats lol, nice folks the American couple and the French dude.
outstanding drone captures, you guys rock!! thank you so much.
Thanks. Yes electric makes so much sense on a boat like that. So peaceful.
Mister Me and Mister Boo or should it be Captain Me & Mister Boo 😂 loved the Captain Pugwash & Seamen Staines analogy 😂😂youllked the part in the nautical (but nice) get up whilst Mister Boo wearing the designer sunglasses certainly looks the style icon he is 😊😊 Now this is whst money buys folks 😁😁😁 i prefer teraferma personally..graet drone footage & a very different vlog..remember stay well & more importantly stay charged 😊🎉
Thanks David. Style icon indeed!
Very cool!
Great fun! I want one! Thanks for uploading.
Thanks Doug. Me too!
I actually spat my coffee out when you called Mr B Seaman Stains :)
Staines was a very fine seaman!
You have to hand it to master bates he keeps a fine ship
Ahoy there …. Beats the manchester ship canal …just ,and ending with Sonata in D minor, very soothing.
If its any consolation the south of France looks very like mancs today it’s been peeing down all day!
Loved this, loved the stories too ❤️
Glad you enjoyed!
Be careful ! You missed a stop at 3:13. I almost screamed STOP !! Could be very dangerous.
Mr Boo says you are right and I reluctantly accept. I did look left though;
I caught that as well, but I guessed that Elton being a plastic celebrity on the French Riviera, might not be obligated to comply by such constraints and simply proceeds with "Gay Abandon"
@@jackoneil3933 it looks like a straight road!;
@@MeandMonAmi Well, any crash or minor crime you can walk away from is a good one! Never stop rolling mate!
Thats incredible , never had to charge it, they really are perfect for tootling around the area as hire boats.
Yup and I think they sell em if you have a few bob to spare
Looks like you and Mr Boo had a good time❤️
And i love how time is a better guide then the actual guide
Thanks everyone for the weekly charge it was 'Super Fun' Indeed! As the episodes roll by, it's very much a joy to discover what a special place we enjoy with you, and after almost 3 years of delightful adventures with friends from such a special place, I'm compelled to Abandon my little bit of the Soviet Union here in Portland and head your way. You think Mr. Boo might be able to Dig up a one or two bedroom Villa for about 800 euro/mo, a grounded aviator could tie now in for a few years?
I loved the cruise, especially the Villa tour, but who couldn't help but wonder what "romantic' dreams for the world Mr. Macron and Chairman Xi Cooked-up in that Rothschild's Villa?
BTW Tim, will your skippering disaster on the rocks in front of the Grand Hotel be in your autobiography?
Helo Gents, Viewing this Me and Mon Ami episode [I am an addict of this channel], made me wonder, looking at this boat's canopy, why 'Seasonsolarboats' could not develop a canopy or roof to supplement power, albeit perhaps only as an alternate power resource for the AMI? --just a thought- after all it would also reduce direct sun exposure to the cabin, hence keep you both a tad protected from the sun?!?
Glad you are enjoying. These things exist, indeed airport ami’s have them the problem is they only generate enough power to power peripherals and would add a fair bit of weight not to mention problems for camera mounting/360 vision on the roof.
I saw you run a stop sign at 3:12! Oh well, I guess they can't take your license away. In Japan, the stop sign is triangle shaped and has "tomaru" for "stop" written on it. But early on, I couldn't read Japanese so well and thought it was a "yield" sign like in the USA. The other Japanese drivers were also not stopping which made me even more convinced it was a yield sign. I was fortunately disabused of this notion by a friend.
Guilty as charged! I did look left though;
Nice sailing, always fun to do. I was a water sports enthusiast myself so I should know! It was another fun and interesting episode.
Which Watersports did you do Henk?
@@MeandMonAmi I have sailed from a young age, but due to back problems we had to sell our sailboat years ago, much to my sadness. But the water always keeps attracting!
John Masefield’s famous poem, “Sea-Fever” - has struck the hearts of everyone who’s been to sea. I was thinking about it when you set sail on the French Riviera waters:
I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking.
I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull’s way and the whale’s way where the wind’s like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over.
Quite apropos isn’t it, for your lovely outing there and its not often you guys get to live the dream and share it with us! 😊
It’s a great poem!
@@MeandMonAmi indeed it is, and I would also like to thank Norman for quoting it here!! And of course I must add a thank you too for such an excellent episode!!!!!!
Hi Tim and Richard... there's a beautiful and quite etherial quality about SILENCE in your vids - Ami; recent Scooter acquisition and now the boat - first "hit" me with the scooter and your remarking about the quietness of it vis a vis an ICE vehicle - same with the boat and the Ami . Its all so much more "civilised" isn't it ? I think that may be converting quite a few people along the way with the electric revolution... You may be remembered as much for this as for your documenting the beautiful places around you... Not being personal - (but you remarked on this yourself... when are you booked in for the tooth implant ? ! Should be "Buy Me An Appointment at the Dentist" ; rather than "Buy Me A Coffee ". ha ha ! Still the gap goes well with the nautical shirt and your self-styled Captain Pugwash image on your boat trip. A la foie prochaine, mes vieux !
Indeed the silence is the great surprise. I’m afraid you have to wait three months for the gap to settle then another three before the actual tooth so my beauty days are still 6 months away!
@@MeandMonAmi Ahh but we are all getting used to this rakish look you now have - makes you appear as "a man of the world, and not to be messed with !" Plus you speak occaisionally with a lisp or is it whistle ? - that's really rather charming - we shall miss it when the work is done ! I only have half my own teeth - most of my upper palette "gone" - father was a dentist so not a good advert - smoked from 12 -50; and 3 sugars !
A Very Good and Interesting Episode. It made me think of the Showaddywaddy song Hey Rock n Roll. When I was 13 I bought a Yacht, not a real one, it was for sailing on the Pond. It was about a foot and a half long. It was prebuilt and all I had to do was add a couple of parts to it. Two days later I took it to the Pond and sat it in the water. Within two and a half minutes it had completely sank. I lost my interest in sailing ships then.
I loved this one
Thanks
I was expecting a skeet shoot when you flew your drone near those mansions.
Anti drone missiles!
Another sensational vedio Tim!
I was hoping you didn't get to much sun.
Thought perhaps you should wear a summer BURKA for while about the boat.
I think this might be next year.
Love you guy's! ❤
I had my factor 50 on!
Hi, another great video. What this video and other recent ones have demonstrated that the electric future is much much quieter.
That is the one thing that has really hit me. Motorbikes and outboard motors sound so loud now!
Great video Tim
Nice drone shots
Definitely get a boat!!!!!
I did the walk from plage de le passable (naf spelling) on your recommendation.
It was fantastic thanks for that!!!!
Brian
Thanks Brian. Glad you enjoyed its a great walk
Cruising with 200 Watts . . .Does Mick know ?
Did you go through a stop sign? This is a splendid video! Such beautiful scenery! And so quiet. Thank you so much for taking boating with you. Love from Vermont
i thought so too!!!
Guilty! It’s a very strange little roundabout!
@@MeandMonAmi thats quite alright I like when there is something that can be commented on.
Actually it was Californian STOP style. :DDD
Completely unrelated to the video, but I just watched the official video of Styx' "Too Much Time On My Hands".
Now I absolutely need to know in which way their lead singer and Mr Boo are related ;-)
Twins
You ran a stop sign! Oh my goodness.
No! On the boat?!
@@MeandMonAmi😂. No, no. It was just as you were arriving in Beaulieu. Thank goodness you’re ok. Look for it at the 3 minute, thirteen second mark.
I was expecting Mr. Boo to tell you to stop.
@@dlschgo me, too! But I think he was concentrating on something else.
I may have missed it, but I don't recall seeing a decent shot of the boat itself. Shome mishtake surely? Still a nice vid, chums. We have an electric boat in Portugal. Low power but so civilized.
The drones from above but TBH we had multiple technical disasters before boarding which curtailed establishing shots!
@@MeandMonAmi I feel your pain. I'm afraid I missed the drone shots. My fault.
@@peterbunker7165 They were brief. We managed to break a brand new mic on this trip!
@@MeandMonAmi I was going to press the like button, but you might think I was 'like' ing the fact you broke your mike. Thank you for your replies and lovely vids. Keep up the good work.
@@peterbunker7165 Yes It’s a thin line with like buttons!
Hello sailors!
"Seaman Stains!" 🤣🤣🤣
Staines!
Don't forget to Roger the cabin boy.
@@alejandrayalanbowman367 always
Hi Lads from Spain. Tim, have you had a check up on that little bit of nastiness on your back? How is it doing? I like the look of that little boat but I'd prefer something a little bigger so that one could sleep and stay on it for a fortnight, or so. Have you named the scooter yet? we haven't seen it since you got it.
Scooter update and naming coming next Sunday!
Really appreciate the proper subtitles, but the timing is rather off in this one...
They are bing remedied!
Wonder how long the bilge pump works with a 3 Kw battery ?
Don’t know but it does
Hi, subtitles are out of sync by six seconds after.
I’m afraid uploading this was a nightmare
I want one - how much are they?
To hire or buy? Check out seazen solar boats site
Americans . . .boats . . .ballast ? I'll get me coat.
Unlike you two to go cruising 😇
How very dare you!
Shut that door lol
